My wife had it written down as 9:20. I called them at 8 am the day of to confirm. She told me that it was at 8 since I was considered a new patient. I said I could make it in 15 minutes and she said no and made me reschedule for a month later. They made me wait three months to schedule this appointment. Apparently it is Adventist Health policy to 'scan the documents' I fill out before seeing the doctor so it was just impossible to let me come 15 minutes late. Unbelievable. It's like working with a person with the empathy of Lord Voldemort. You could be dying on the floor and they wouldn't let you see the doctor until they scan the docs. I should note that I have already been a patient here and doctor Horowitz is good. The office staff is a nightmare. They switched to Adventist Health from Sierra Family Care hence the whole "new patient' debacle.

No way of contacting with your direct providers if any questions or concerns. They do not get back to you in timely manner. I have difficulty breathing and mucus for most of the winter until Spring. Had a test run in office to add to charges, and the results were vague. Told me to come back in for follow up in which the office made an appointment for valentines day, 6 weeks latter. The day before the appointment the office called to cancel saying it was the doctors birthday on the 14th, then said it was another 6 weeks until they could make another appointment, so 24 weeks and then I imagine another 6 weeks if I had made an appointment. I then asked if she took Tricare and she immediately became defensive and said is it Tricare Prime, Tricare for life.. I unfortunately don't know as we just signed up for it & I asked if they were able to check by the main subscribers social.. she said with their new system they aren't able to. Doesn't make much sense if you have to submit a claim after a patient is seen as well as verify if the patient is active prior to their first visit. The receptionist in any office is the first stop to patient care. If you are unwilling to help a potential new patient with a few insurance questions, you shouldn't be in that field. Patients should know their coverage correct, but to flat out not be willing to help isn't very beneficial to the practice or the potential patient. I also don't want to go to an office if the first thing stated is "it depends on your insurance." What if I was a cash paying patient? Might as well choose to be out of network with every insurance so you can charge whatever fee you'd like per visit. This office came highly recommend but because of the one receptionist, I will be looking elsewhere. Must be hard to find friendly and warm employees in this sleepy little town.

There is no way I would ever be a patient of hers. My poor daughter was the victim of her rudeness. She actually laughed at my daughter who was very upset and never seeks medical care. So my suggestion is reach out to Adriana Brewer or Megan Ascado that have left Oaktree and went to different places. Also, the wonderful phlebotomist Sessy is no longer there. Do not go here unless you are sick all the time. But then again, if you are sick all the time maybe they aren't doing their job? Or maybe that's the plan? You'd think a doctors office would reward you for living so healthy, not punish you, good old American health care system at work in this office!
