Dave is a good guy with good heart. Called, answered first time up to bat (rare these days with any Yelp! service that is rated well). Tried to describe over the phone and he said, nup nup bup bup bup. He wanted to see, assess and then advise. Come to find out, this is how he does everything. Prefers personal touch and all around customer service. He is a GC, legitimately knows his stuff and cares about quality work. If you need a responsive, personable professional with a good team of people, give this guy a call. read more

My HOA sent the company out to do a quote for repairs to wood in my condo after water and termite damage because they were doing work outside of the complex. The way David communicated to me was condescending and rude. He 'mansplained' what an air duct was to me and why there was 'duct' tape on the air duct when it was clearly shoddy work that needed repaired. He didn't submit an estimate for the work (which really wasn't "handyman work") and he wouldn't have earned my business even if he did as a result of his subpar professionalism and what came across to me as lack of knowledge and a dash of misogynism. Apt name for the company if you want your 'surrogate husband' to speak to you in a condescending manner. read more

Been looking for someone reliable to come assemble my bed I purchased from Amazon & it's been quite a challenge to find reliable people! I sent text to this establishment 2 nights ago when I came home from work. They responded by saying they are open 6am the next day, which was yesterday. Tried calling & left voicemail, as of now I have heard nothing back. So I found another person on Yelp 2 nights ago, he was suppose to meet me at my home yesterday after work; no show & not one call or text from him. Where do you find good reliable people to help?? Surrogate Husbands surely was not reliable in getting back. read more

I was looking to mount my guitars on the wall and looked up a few ideas and decided that I wanted a wooden background to mount to. I sent a picture of what I was looking for to Dave and he immediately scheduled a time to come and see the space where I planned to mount it. He came over, offered a few ideas of his own and made some recommendations. He sent me a quote the same day which was competitive to another estimate I received. Once the holidays passed, I contacted Dave to get it started. He wanted to come visit again just to be sure we were on the same page and a few days later the wall was ready. He came to install it and was careful the whole time. I'll definitely use Dave and Surrogate Husbands Inc for future projects and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Who does't need a surrogate husband once in a while? Dave came by today to help with some issues that another handyman service (whom had been at my home four times) could not. Dave was quick, pleasant to work with. He is an honest and fair man and will not charge you for things that are not worth the time & money. Love a family owned business and love getting things done right the first time. read more

David arrived early. He fixed the broken base of the kitchen cabinet quickly and efficiently. One of the kitchen drawers was broken. He said he needed to take it back to fix and returned it when it was done. And he charged only $25! Wow, I can't find anyone doing such a good job and charging so reasonable. Overall, David is very professional! I will definitely call him for any repair and home improvement! read more

They replaced a windowsill for us; did a beautiful job. Also had them paint some baseboard, which was a touch sloppy. I had to touch up the wall paint where it ran over. Wouldn't recommend them for painting (hire a painter!), but the rest of the job was perfect. read more

I have been hiring David to do work for me for over 10 years. He is reliable, dependable and I always trust him. He has always done excellent work. Before I hired David, I had hired many other handymen but so many were flaky not showing up, measuring then Not coming back, etc. David saves me time and money by doing what he says he will. If I could give him 10stars I would. read more

David was awesome! Quick to respond. In , out , and not that expensive! Choose Surrogate Husbands over the rest.. the others will give you a minimum price per hour, and Surrogate gave me an estimate. Thank you so much! Will use you guys again for all my handyman needs. read more

I couldn't ask for a better team to do the first improvement in our new home this year. I requested a quote through yelp regarding door installation and they responded wanting to see the site to better give me an estimate. David came, and I requested additional work in the house such as the installation of the water line to my refrigerator. David gave a reasonable but affordable quote so I worked with his team. They finished the project ahead of their projected timeline. To David and his team, thank you so much for your awesome work. They are professional and on-time. Highly recommended and will work with him again. I already referred him to my coworker who wants a good home improvement done too. I am glad to be apart now of the surrogate husband family. Will post pictures soon. read more

Easy to get in touch with, fast, and affordable. Very happy with the service and definitely will keep his info for future needs. Thank you!

Just called for a quote. Someone answered and they were hard to make out, background was noisy which made it even more difficult to relay information. Maybe I'll have better luck with them next time? read more

I requested around 4:00 yesterday afternoon and had a response from them within 10 minutes, to work the following afternoon. The prompt response, a very competitive estimate and their other reviews sold me on them. Dave and Bart showed up ready to work.I needed two outdoor propane heaters assembled and had no idea how long that would take or how intricate a job it would be. Dave's estimate of the time to do the job was nearly perfect, and his estimate became his price, to the dollar. I will be using Surrogate Husbands Inc for all the handyman tasks I have. read more

Dave has helped me on several projects. He has hung curtain rods, reinforced a giant shelf, glued antique chairs parts in place, installed lighting for my entryway, etc. I think he can do anything! He is fair and often charges less than his bid. We appreciate his help and highly recommend Surrogate Husbands! read more

Called for a table fix today as I tried to build it myself and stripped all the giant screws . The owner responded , quoted and arrived within a half hour. David was professional and reliable. I had an exterior door replaced. My house is older and every job is not an easy one. David kept me informed and assured the job was on track. The final product was great. Thank you. read more

This is a wonderful service provided by Dave and his team. He is reliable, honest, on time for the job and keeps me appraised of the work timeline. He had my back house painted and cleaned from top to bottom and it was a reasonable price. He is a gem! read more

Friendly service and quick door installation! Highly recommend.

I am more than pleased with the service of David of Surrogate Husbands. He was very prompt, told me what to expect and then delivered! When the job required more work than was expected, he didn't raise his fee one bit! He did a great job putting a pet door into a security door and installing them. I expect to recommend him often. read more

This is the second time I have used the Surrogate Husbands to address a home repair problem quickly. When they showed up this time and I explained the problem with a plumbing/flooding issue, which I thought I needed the wax ring replaced under the toilet, he said he didn't think it was the issue. He recommended a different business, Jimmy B Quick Plumbing. There was no charge for his visit and his recommendation was right on the mark. Problem now solved. read more

What can I say about these men??!! They saved me during our recent Santa Ana winds several weeks ago. I was at my desk, working from home, preparing to be on vacation out of the country the next day, when I heard a weird noise from back door. Got up to investigate, and my back neighbors two dogs were trying to push into my house through baby gate I have up in front of the screen door. My back fence had been blown down by the winds and the dogs decided to come explore! So crazy me, I called several fence companies to come repair it, but they only install fences and don't repair! I called surrogate husbands with my dilemma... they were at my door in under an hour, checked out what needed to be done, went and got supplies and had my fence all fixed within a couple hours!! Thanks guys & please tell your clients that may have had a delay in your arrival at their house that I'm sorry to cause a delay but I was between a rock and a hard place!!! read more

Couldn't have been happier, just removing and reinstalling a ceiling fan. I have got a few more jobs for them

The best customer service I have ever had. David came to just mount my tv on the wall and ended up staying and putting my dresser together and fixing my front door lock. Will always use this company read more

Surrogate Husbands is great.. I called them to do a number of repairs around my newly bought house because I wanted to have someone close by ( IB) andf the really funny name. David and his crew were the best.. Even though some of work turned out to be much more complicated ... its a 70s house with a lot of obviously half baked lick and a promise owner-done remodeling, he stuck by his estimate despite the extra work involved and it all looks great.. Floors had layers of really scary flooring now beautiful tile.. toilets don't leak , doors and screens and pet doors all work like they were supposed to... Very happy.. Highly recommend read more

This company has a LIAR and they are NOT to be trusted!!! Hire real professionals that are respectful and professional!

Dave recently finished a job for my family and he did a great job. He is a trustworthy professional and genuinely nice guy. He went above and beyond what was expected and charged an incredibly fair price. He and his crew were safety conscious and clean. There is no doubt that we will call upon Surrogate Husbands Inc. again. read more

A few years ago, I called David to help me fix a raised and sharp edge of the metal threshold between carpet and tile on my rental condo. Within an hour David stopped by. He replaced the old metal with a new aluminum strip. The job was well done. It looks great and fits perfectly. I thought that was a fast turn around and good service that David did but I didn't write a Yelp review for him since I only write when the service/work quality/price are either excellent or sub-standard. I am getting to the point now...I called David again last week to give me an estimate for patching up a big stucco hole left by plumbing job. Again, David came by within few hours as he promised. He gave me a reasonable estimate. And while waiting for the insurance to approve, I read the weather forecast it would be rain the next day so I called David again to see what he charges for putting up a temporary cover to avoid rain water leaking in. David said he would do it for free since I am his customer and he makes a point to take good care of all his customers. With such customer-oriented, I definitely remember Surrogate Husbands every time I need help here and there in the future. read more
