Going tomorrow to have a shelter dog I adopted spayed. I've been reading the Yelp reviews and I'm on the fence. I truly hope my dog is ok while she's there... read more

Whenever I have called there I immediately have been thrown on hold, once with upwards of over 20 minutes on hold. They never did come back to pick up the call so I ended up hanging up. Good thing it wasn't an emergency that I was dealing with. However, at their old clinic their service had been wonderful. All the bad customer service began once they got into their new building. One time it took them over a half an hour to check me and my dog out. I don't like how that is set up. Once my pet's office call is over with i feel you should be given your bill and meds, if needed, right away and be able to be on your way home. This waiting to check out is very inefficient. Unfortunately I had to seek services from a new vet because I couldn't handle their poor customer service anymore, which is a shame because their prices weren't that bad there. I don't know how they are now but hopefully they have gotten better for their remaining patients. read more

My family and I have been going to this vet clinic for multiple years for all of our animals. I went to have my dog put down and did not have a good experience. I believe the vet was Buzdug who put my dog down. Buzdug walked into the room and just started immediately injecting my dog with the medication to euthanize him. No warning, no introduction, no "hello", no explanation, nothing. I was not ready for the process to begin so quickly and without warning. He did not say one word except for when my dog was gone and that was, "He's gone, I'm sorry". He then just walked out. You would think that there would be more sympathy for the fact that my dog was my pet. At least an introduction or explanation for the steps taking place. I would not recommend them if you need to put a pet down at all! I will not be returning for any reason! read more

Buzdug is lazy and gross. He diagnosed my dog with vertigo in January, saw she had an elevated WBC and gave me anti nausea and antibiotics. 7mo later she was losing function in her back legs. He didn't run any tests, said it was a pinched nerve from an injury by simply looking at her. Put her on muscle relaxers, steroids and gabapentin. She spent her last month of life barely able to get up, he gave her a shot of librela that caused seizures. I took her to a competent vet that actually ran tests. She had cancer the entire time that was effecting her nervous system. That man is incompetent and should lose his license to practice. He caused her last weeks of life to be even more miserable. Do not take your pets here. Pill pushing freak. Also, love seeing his staff bitching about politics when responding to google reviews. As a medical professional, maybe don't be a covid denyer??? read more

My name is Scott Schmidt. I am the former Executive Director of the Cascades Human Society in Jackson, Michigan. I took my Bernese Mountain Dog, Monty, to Surry Animal Hospital for 4 years. During this time, my dog was thankfully very healthy and only required routine veterinary care. We are very conscientious dog owners and assured Monty was regularly seen for physicals and vaccines. Surrey actually saw Monty for a physical shortly before becoming ill, but did not diagnose cancer. Shortly thereafter, Monty started to eat less and appeared lethargic. When I called Surrey, they told me it would be 3 weeks before Monty could be seen. I explained that he was acting unwell, which was met with rude excuses and abusive comments. They actually hung up on me for advocating for my dog. Unfortunately, Monty did not have 2 weeks, and our beloved family member was euthanized as a result of advanced Lymphoma. I would like to thank Surrey Animal Hospital for assuring we discovered M20 Animal Hospital in Midland (only about 30 minutes from Clare). The staff who assisted Monty in his sad transition were compassionate, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thank you M20 veterinarians and staff for all your kindness and help. Your professional and gentle treatment of our pack member was valued and appreciated. I can't recommend M20 Animal Hospital enough. You will not regret calling them. I took my 7 month old lab and two kittens to get fixed. my kittens were fine but my lab was acting weird after. I took her back in FOUR times explaining my concern. Each time I was dismissed and told I was crazy. I begged my old vet to take a look. Thank god I followed my gut. Surrey DID NOT use dissolvable stitches. My 7 month old health pup was getting SLICED OPEN from her stitches every time she moved. She had a start of a blood infection. My baby was in agony for weeks because I was told she was fine and I was "a helicopter owner". If I would have waited she would have died. When I called Surrey they did not seem to care about THEIR mistake. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE! read more

I have been bringing my pets to Surrey Vet Clinic for the past 20 years and cannot express enough how much I love it. My parents moved to the Clare area in 1999 or 2000, and though I have never lived there permanently (I have stayed there for 6-8 months at a time) I began to take my pets to Surrey Vet too. Living in the suburbs north of Detroit currently means that my drive to the office is at least 2.5 hours, but my parents (who have moved to be closer to family) and I now happily drive it... leaving well before 6am to go see them I could go on and on about just how much love the clinic... but it isn't necessary, I think the 20 years and 2.5 hour drive is more telling than any personal anecdote could. read more

I have been using Surrey Vet for a few years now. I am getting more and more unhappy with them. In fact so unhappy that I am researching new vets. Even if I have to go to Mt Pleasant or Midland to see a vet. #1 They are getting just too big for there breaches. Called to make an appointment, got answering machine. Sorry too busy to take your call, call this number to text and they will call when available. #2 I understand they are busy, but the overbooking is really getting worse. I have never really seen a vet on the time of my appointment. The wait times are getting worse, even up to almost an hour and then have to wait quite a while to pay my bill. #3 Called to check out my dogs rabies shot expiration, Certificate for a 3 years shot showed a 5 year renewal date, took forever for the person I was talking to to research it and he said it was right, but didn't sound really sure. Rabies shots are really important, so I am going to have to research this more myself or schedule an appointment and have to pay them to find out. #5 I will say that the vets and most of the staff have been great with my pets. read more

Have been a customer for over 10 years. Since the change in location and ownership there has been a serious lack of customer service and care. On three separate visits in the last year we have been treated as inconveniences by the front office staff. (Shut up and sit down attitude.) Extremely disappointed in the downturn in customer service. Transferring care of all our pets as of today. read more

I used to love surrey, have always brought my dogs here. But in the last 2 years they have took a huge nose dive! I tried to schedule my dog an appointment today because he hurt his leg and is limping. Surrey's response, once I finally got them on the phone after calling all day, was that they had no available appointments for 10 days, and asked if id like to book one for then to get him seen. They wanted me to schedule an appointment for my dogs hurt leg, TEN DAYS away. I think it's safe to say they don't care if the animal is in pain they care about the check because I dont think anyone would want their dog to suffer for 10 days. That being said this isn't the first issue I've had with trying to get my pets an appointment. I will be switching vets because surrey is so very unreliable and my dogs are too important to me to play phone tag and guessing games with people who are supposed to be professionals. read more

Mis-diagnosed my 2 1/2 yr old st bernard. Took my baby there because she had a small limp. Thought she hurt it somehow. I asked if it could possibly be cancer. I know giant breeds are known for this. They said no on 3 different visits. Had ct scan yesterday. Maddie has cancer. Mass on shoulder. Nothing can be done now. Its all about money there now compared to before the move. Now i have to say goodbye to my sweet baby girl. Never take another pet there again... read more

I can't say enough good things about Surrey Vet Clinic. They have always treated my animals with respect, care and love. They have treated me with respect and care as well. I have been to other veterinarians and have been treated well however I've felt like they didn't care about my animals as much as Surrey and their prices weren't as good as Surrey. Surrey saved my pet when another wanted to put her down (in an emergency setting). I chanced it over the weekend and Monday Surrey rushed her into surgery and saved her life. I will forever be grateful. They have a nice new establishment. Staff is friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend Surrey! read more
