We had 2 pieces of older gold men's jewelry that he was never going to wear but one piece was sentimental so he wanted to keep the diamonds out of it to use at a later date. We first negotiated the purchase of the gold from the 2 pieces and found their prices very fair (we had done some price shopping in advance). We then asked for the price to remove our diamonds to keep, and it was super affordable, and could be done on the spot. They were patient with my husbands many questions and his nervousness trusting them. The front door was locked and double gated so we felt safe throughout the whole process. It's conveniently located just across Cambie Bridge though, so I figured I'd take a stab. When I walked in I was greeted by a staff member and the cuuuutest little dog! I explained why I'd come in and handed over my loot. The staff member ran some quick tests on the jewellery to make sure it was real and check out the quality. He explained what he was doing through each step and it was actually all pretty interesting. Since all of the pieces I brought in were gifts, I wasn't really sure how much any of it was worth. I was so excited when I found out it was just over $500 that had been sitting in my drawer this whole time. Apparently gold prices have been really good lately (so the employee informed me) -- win! As he started writing me a cheque, I noticed they were selling some nice jewelry in the store, too. I ended up finding a beautiful pair of diamond studs for my mom's birthday! My attention span is limited when there is so much going on and a counter that separates me from the pretty, shiny objects on the other side, but in this case, that's probably a good thing! The proprietors, Lynn and Richard are experts in jewellery repairs, custom designs, watch repairs and remodeling of your fine jewellery, so even if you don't find something you like here, you can always bring in that beloved piece with a broken clasp or that ring with a pretty stone that just doesn't suit the setting and they will do their best to help you out.

I went there so many, many times for all my jewellery needs, (purchases & repairs). However, since new ownership, that has all changed. I needed claws on my diamond rings, so I thought I'd give the new owners a chance to see what kind of work they do. Inside a month the claws were catching on clothing and material of all sorts, indicating that the claws were not done properly. They denied responsibility and wanted to charge me again to repair them....they just lost my patronage.
