Absolutely Amazing!…read more There were four of us dining here, and we were all incredibly impressed! We're not local to Port Aransas, but this will definitely be a place we come back to whenever we're in the area. The lamb chops were hands-down some of the BEST we've ever had. The ribeye was amazing, the halibut was amazing, and their lasagna was absolutely delicious. Honestly, everything we tried was fantastic! The service was just as impressive as the food, friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even better. If you're looking for a great meal in Port Aransas, GO! And if you're on the fence because of a few negative reviews, don't let them stop you. Our experience was wonderful from beginning to end, and all four of us agreed the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time. From what we could tell, reservations are the best way to make sure you get a table, especially if they're busy. Definitely worth the visit, we highly recommend it!

Even on a busy evening, we called and were able to secure seating. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by every single course. We started with their delicious, fresh bread and crisp salad, pairing our meal with an incredible bottle of Malbec. For the main course, I ordered the Pecan Crusted Halibut, which was absolutely spectacular, and my husband had the Lamb Chops, cooked to absolute perfection. The Parmesan potatoes were also delicious. The service was amazing from start to finish--we were welcomed with warm smiles, and our waiters were attentive and wonderful. To top off an already perfect night, we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Sergio, who took the time to come out to our table. I truly cannot recommend this place enough and we can't wait to return to try more of their incredible dishes on the island. (Don't forget to also try their delicious deserts!)

I was expecting a robust menu with a variety of yummy tapas to choose from. The menu was underwhelming with appetizers, not tapas, and a limited menu. A wine menu was provided, but a cocktail menu, or beer selected were not offered or available. We ordered a salad and appetizers. The salad was good and the best part of the meal. We also ordered the crab nachos and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Cute names on the menu, but unfortunately, again underwhelming and lacking flavor. The nachos were bland, with little flavor or seasoning. The most exciting part of the nachos were the thinly sliced jalapeños. The bacon wrapped shrimp were more flavorful with a red chutney/salsa. Tasty, but how can you go wrong with shrimp and bacon. Dessert was the best part of the meal. Our waiter brought over a hand written dessert menu. Hard to read the print, but he explained all the desserts. We had a brownie and ice cream dish that was delicious. Overall, cute place, great concept, great service but just "ok". The inside is clean and inviting. They are very welcome to dogs and support animal welfare organizations it looks like! We of course had to have two flights - one beer, one wine. I can't completely recall my order - the wines I remember trying were blackberry, raspberry, watermelon, and the "muscles and tattoos(?)." Every single one was amazing. I personally adored the blackberry, and my partner - who usually is not a huge wine fan at all - adored the watermelon wine. My palate isn't really built for beer, so three of the four samples we had were just good to me. There were subtle differences in the hoppiness which I really liked for dimension. There is one that stood out which was a pickle beer... if you tried the Best Maid beer and you were traumatized by how gross it is, please try this beer to recover. It is absolutely incredible. We had to buy a 4-pack to go. Speaking of which! There's also the option to take a "batch" of something you enjoyed home. It is a touch expensive, but for good reason, and if I lived closer I probably would have done that with the blackberry wine! Also, the bartender was incredible. I didn't get his name but whoever was there on the 10th around 7pm, you're super cool! Service, from getting his attention, to our order being prepared, to getting the tab completed/souvenirs bought, took no time at all. I'll have to come back down from Dallas for sure.

The Gold Fish is a shining example of Corpus having and maintaining nice things…read more There is a common misconception that this city cannot have nice things, and that if we do get them, they do not last very long. The Gold Fish has proven this long-held collective pessimism wrong. Originally a cocktail bar only, it has now expanded into a cocktail, beer and wine outdoor/indoor bar, which makes complete sense given the city's demographic demands. It was actually one of the first businesses I was most concerned with us losing permanently during the pandemic. And I am so glad they have stuck around! It is a modern cocktail bar at its core, which makes it very unique to this city. This is an obvious adoption of cocktail bar trends from other larger cities in Texas. It is very nice, with a wide array of adult beverage options for discriminating consumers to chose from. The atmosphere is perfect, and the bartenders and staff are top-notch and super nice (the attitude is refreshing compared to what one may be used to recieving from such establishments in larger cities). I usually only come here when I have company from out-of-town, as I do not go out for drinks very often. At my most recent visit, I had just experienced a personal tragedy that I only briefly alluded to our bartender when she asked how our day was going. The amount of sincere compassion we received was not expected at all. My only regret is that I did not get her name, or else I would have gladly included it in this review.
