I ordered a Quantum spinning reel just like the one that I purchased at Bass Pro Shop for $71.00 inc tax. The same exact reel from Sportsman's Wholesale was $37.00 inc shipping saving me $34.00. I ordered it on a Saturday and it arrived the following Friday morning just as it was stated in the purchase agreement. Ordering could not have been easier and the whole process was simplified enough for even me ( 70 yr old ), old school type who grew up buying everything from a store of one type or another. I called the nags head location to ask if they would take them back. The manager, Jake, explained that he would have to see them. That is just fine, so I brought them to him with all the tags and the receipt then when we grab another pair to exchange them with, the Grommet on the new pair was cracked. Jake handled it like a pro and gave us the benefit of the doubt and let us return the shorts so, I ended up spending $200 more, because he was so gracious to us. Jake was a professional and I appreciate it. He does a good job. He should be commended.

The gentleman working the counter not only had great taste in music but he included a very informative guide to kite flying for those of us whose skills are on par with paper airplanes. Kelly wanted to but a tee shirt and maybe some jewelry and Mary was looking for island vibe stickers for her cooler and so ways I. It was very slow, there was one other couple in the store on this Friday afternoon. There were two staff people attend the store. I asked one of the gentleman about their products and he was able to answer my quesitons. I made my selection and as I was checking out, I noticed they took the touchless Apple Pay option. I have an Apple Card which I rarely use and decided I would give it a go. I've used it maybe two previous times with mixed results. I pulled up the card on my phone and asked if they took Apple Pay and they guy said, we take it no problem. I scanned the point of sell unit and I heard a beep and thought the transaction was going through. That was not the case, it didn't go through. The other guy who I think was the Manager/Owner came over. He said 'oh yeah' we do touchless transactions. I asked if there was a certain technique with Apple Pay. His response, was "well, that's an Apple issue, you will need to call Apple to figure that out" I was stunned, I've never been talked to like that in any customer service oriented situation. I will leave it at that but I will not be returning to Kitty Hawk Kites on Ocracoke . There are way too many other options where the Vendors appreciate your business and your patronage.

In the first 5 minutes of entering the store I saw and heard her scold her employees - in the middle of the store and loud enough for everyone to hear. Not more than 5 more minutes and got to hear a minutes long rant to another employee about another manager of a store wanting to steal her staff, blahblahblah. Keep it behind closed doors! I had my heart set on something they sold but turned right back around and decided to spend my money in a place that gave even the smallest amount of care towards their customers and their employees. Ugh.
