"I would never do that, I don't know why you would", with a condescending tone. I've been in customer service over 10 years so I'm always mindful of making a connection with customers so they want to return. There was another short exchange after that one that want pleasant on her part. We left shortly after.

The sale merchandise is organized incorrectly. Several times my hopes were dashed.....The one pair of Prada sunglasses that I found that I actually liked were hardly discounted at all. Staff was less than enthused to assist with any part of the shopping process. Rudely hung out by the register (store was empty) and only came over to tell me, "no that's not marked down at all, even though the sign above it says 30% off. I can tell by the number at the end of the tag." Thanks so much. I can assure you would wouldn't be able to coax an opinion to "are these Valentinos or these Kate Spade glasses better on my face?" out of anyone in the store, so bring a friend if you need a second opinion (essential for sunglass shopping). Check out the Michael Kors or Coach store - better prices and staff is about 1000x more helpful.

The staff are knowledgeable and friendly but also honest on what looks good and what doesn't. I believe the management changed early in the year and it's apparent they put the right person in charge. You are treated with respect and leave knowing you bought something of great quality and value. If there are issues, you are always welcomed back to get things rectified. It's ironic that I purchased a pair of sunglasses at a place called cool shades, because I consider myself to be less than cool. In fact, the reason I went there is to find a pair of sunglasses to fit over my regular glasses since I don't have contacts. Thankfully they have many styles to choose from... Aviator glasses, Versace, LaCoste, Bebe, etc. My first real kiosk shopping experience for the win!

I went to the…read moreSunglass Hut on Michigan Ave to return a pair of sunglasses on January 22nd (it's currently May...) and I was treated so rudely by the associate and she didn't even properly refund my money. I'm still out $30 that she refused to help me get back. The associates from the Sunglass Hut at this location were MUCH nicer and have been working to help me get my remaining money back but it has been such a struggle. I have called customer care, the audit team, and so many other numbers in between. This experience has been the worst and no one is able to locate my refund check. Absolutely nothing has been done by corporate to remedy or help the situation. I have been getting no communication and have wasted so many hours trying to track down the check. I want my money refunded and something done about all this time wasted.

I was complaining about my old pair of Maui Jims and Sebastian explained to me how Maui Jim had improved their product line so that they were more secure and less breakable. He also explained about polarization and helped me find glasses where you could not see my eyes. They had a promotion going on for Maui Jims where they were giving away gift bags that included a water bottle, golf towel, golf tees, strings for your glasses, bottle opener, and a string bag. What a lucky coincidence! I had a birthday 20% off coupon that I had forgotten to bring but Sebastian was nice to apply it to my purchase. I also had some trouble with a pair of raybans that I had previously purchased and Sebastian helped me fix them and clean them up! What great service I received here!
