There isn't anything super affordable about this place, but man, is it worth it!…read more I loved this boutique. So many amazing clothes, home goodies and jewelry! If you need a unique party dress, trendy jeans, or a super cool top, this is the place. I left with a bag full of dresses and jewelry that I LOVED, even though my wallet was lighter.

I'm originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and we have a summer home near South Haven. I…read morestumbled upon this little gem of a boutique and absolutely fell in love with it. Every time I come into South Haven, I make a point to stop in and check out their sales. I truly love this store, which is why I feel the need to share my recent experience. My first visit was a great experience. The young ladies working were extremely friendly and welcoming. The only thing that felt a little off was when I went to check out and the man behind the register questioned the price on a dress I was purchasing. It was marked down to around $20 from what I believe was a $90 dress, so I understand that he may have been surprised by the price. However, the way he questioned the tag made me feel like he was wondering if I had changed it. Another employee confirmed that it was, in fact, on sale, and he said okay. I didn't think much of it at the time. My second visit was also very pleasant. The young ladies were friendly, accommodating, and asked if I needed any help or had any questions. I made a small purchase and left feeling good about my experience. Yesterday, however, my experience was completely different. I went in not knowing they were having a sidewalk sale. When I walked in, nobody greeted me, even though I noticed employees greeting other customers and asking if they needed help. I overheard them telling another customer about the sale. The store was fairly busy, so I walked toward the back patio where the sale items were. While I was looking, I noticed one of the employees behind the register say something to another lady. Shortly afterward, a woman came outside and seemed to be hovering around me while I was shopping. At first, I honestly thought she was another customer, so I didn't think much of it. It was only later that I realized she was an employee. When I eventually went to check out, the woman behind the register was very standoffish. She didn't greet me or engage with me in any way, and after a while I started to feel uncomfortable and like I didn't belong there. What really stood out to me was the difference in how a caucasian customer was treated when she approached the register. She was immediately greeted with, "How was your shopping?" and they started making small talk about the sale. With me, there was very little acknowledgment. She even asked her if it was her first time shopping there. I was simply told, "Oh, you got some good deals," given my total and my receipt, and sent on my way. I want to be fair because I cannot say for certain what anyone's intentions were. Maybe they were having a bad day, maybe I misinterpreted the situation, or maybe there was another reason for the difference in how I was treated. But as a customer, I can only speak to how the experience made me feel. And honestly, I left feeling like I was being watched, like they thought I might steal something, or like I didn't belong there because of the way I looked or because of my ethnicity. That is a very uncomfortable feeling. This was my third visit within the past month, and unfortunately, each experience left me feeling a little more uncomfortable than the last. I genuinely love this boutique and have always thought of it as one of my favorite places to shop in South Haven. I also recently discovered that they have a location in Glen Ellyn, right next to my hometown, so I will continue to shop with the company but at that location. I hope they are more welcoming than this location. I'm sharing this review because I hope someone in management sees it and understands how these interactions can make a customer feel. I don't know if anyone else has experienced something similar, but I wanted to share my personal experience because I truly love this store and would hate for anyone else to leave feeling the way I did.
