I was assisted by this lovely girl with purple hair that was named after my favorite artist Alanis Morissette. Provided such excellent service.. She was able to help us out and helped me look and find matching sets and clothes for my 3 kids. I also ended up buying soveniers to take back. As well as body boards with hard plastic bottoms! for the kids. Will definately come back. And we highly recommend it. read more

I didn't have a nasty customer service experience as related by some of the other reviewers... I suspect some of them are revenge reviews... but even without that it is hard to recommend this store. Beach umbrellas are a real deal right now, less than the typical price leader of the beach stores, Wings. Other than that though... The store is smaller than the typical Surf Style store and downsizing has not gone well. Rather than reduce quantities of everything, it appears entire product lines are missing. For example, if shopping for a man's swimsuit they are about all the same except for color. Which means you could have any color of knee length swimsuit you want. Yes, that is the predominant style but there are still lots of men who would want something smaller. A sign on the building claims the biggest selection of women's mix and match swimwear. Well, there isn't all that much of it and it's more mix than match. I don't know if the display was created by someone who is pattern and colorblind or they bought some factory leftovers and then shuffled them. Buy some of the bargain priced beach umbrellas while you're there, and go somewhere else for the rest of your beach supply needs. read more

Popped into this location to buy a couple cheap beach towels since they weren't provided by our hotel (what?) and we knew we wouldn't be able to fit them in our suitcases to take home. Surf Style is full of stupidly overpriced, Chinese-made souvenirs, t-shirts (some funny and original, most not) and all kinds of paraphernalia to make you feel like a Beach God (although what you'll end up looking like is a Beach Douche. "Whoa bro, does that hemp necklace have BEADS on it!?" "It sure does!") We found some "cabana" towels that were striped red and white and green and white, for $6/each. Not bad. I didn't need super thick, lustrous towels made from the hair of poor children. I just needed something cheap we could use to dry off. They were the "Surf Style" brand. After one use, the red and green stripes were BLEEDING. I was using the red towel, and the white stripes on the towel, as well as half of the white polka dots on the bottom of my swim suit, are now pink. WHAT THE FUCK, MAN. WHO EVEN MAKES TOWELS THAT AREN'T COLORFAST!? They're SUPPOSED to get wet! That is why they exist! Jesus H. Macy what is wrong with you people!? I look forward to trying Surf Style brand's other exciting products: Cast iron surf boards, spun-sugar swimming trunks, habañero after-sun lotion, and paper flip-flops. EDIT: Downgrading this to one-star. Boyfriend bought a shirt he liked (which was the extra star) and after two washes, the entire design began peeling off in huge shreds, like a poorly-made iron-on transfer. It looks like it was attacked by an angry tiger. The fact that we spent any money here at all is now one of my deepest life regrets. read more

Wished I had checked Yelp before purchasing anything from here. Purchased several shirts here, as did my friends. My friend washed her shirt that night and it shrunk badly. Having bought the same shirt, I decided to return it, only to be informed that I could only receive store credit. I had already purchased my souvenirs, so I didn't really need anything. Informing the manager that store credit does no good in Iowa, I really just wanted my credit card credited. No go. The lady behind me was wanting to return a defective item and they wouldn't stand behind that either. This shop will survive, only because new flocks of tourist descend upon the beach and they haven't been screwed by Surf Style yet. read more

Store does not stand behind Surf Style products after 1 week. So wash clothing immediately after purchase, and hope they will exchange if it falls apart in the wash. Also their store managers need instruction on proper mask wearing, they're not protecting anyone while half wearing a mask. Go to Johns Pass Village for other stores for clothing, such as Life is Good, which stand behind their products. read more

Don't buy anything from these places.(clearwater, Redington and madeira beach stores) No returns or exchanges even if tags are still on and you have original receipt. Someone bought me shorts that didn't fit. I was told on the phone with original receipt I could exchange them. When I got to the store a rude manager said he would not exchange or return anything even if they still had all tags and I had receipt. Find a locally owned surf shop and buy from them. support our small businesses. read more

its a tourist shop with cheep nick knacks and such, nothing that is going to last you a lifetime! But i got a few nice items that weren't a huge rip off. Although one sweat shirt was labeled a 2x and it was much more of L so try stuff on first! oh and they give free reusable shopping bags which are lovely read more

though it is a smaller location , I was in the store sept 28th and had a question for the employee who wasn't sure and asked his manager who very quickly came out and explained my answer and gave me the closest options they had to what I was looking for. They both made sure I had what I needed and un like everyone else it was a good experience customer service wise. Dusty , over packed racks and shelves but overall you can tell somebody takes pride in their day to day job. read more

Priced $50 worth of Tshirts for a commemorative gift for the group I was vacationing with. Once I got to the register it was $100. I bought them figuring I could return them if I found a better deal somewhere else, which I did. However, they have a no returns policy, which is listed no where in the store, only on the receipt after the purchase was made. I loved the selection of t shirts and touristy items to buy. Picked up about 5 shirts in varying sizes. My problem is that I needed a bathroom and they told me they didn't have one. When I set my stuff down and said I was leaving because I needed a bathroom, then they said they would open the door for me in the pizza place in the same building. Magic bathroom appearing! But when I went to the back, they had Out of Order signs and I asked if that was true or they just didn't want people to use them. The guy wouldn't look me in the eye and said that was true. So I said "Where do I go?" and he sent me outside and next door to the McDonald's. thanks, McDonalds for having the decency to have a public restroom! When I came back, the Surf store manager then said "yes, the bathrooms were out of order" - so why did she send me over there if she knew that? Another lie? Anyway, it was late at night and I didn't want to go somewhere else so I just said "never mind", bought my stuff and left. But I was not very happy. Why do stores want you to shop with them, but then not provide even the basic amenities? Irritating. I also asked the clerk if she knew of a tire store open on Sunday and she was not very polite when she said "I have NO idea". I don't need this. read more
