I haven't rented or owned an electric vehicle, so I didn't know what I needed to do to charge it. I did find out about the Presto application and that worked great. I ended with an electric vehicle, because I chose the option where the car company picks your car. I wouldn't do that the next time. The electric vehicle limits what you can do. I wanted to explore some areas that weren't feasible because of the car's range and the time it takes to recharge the battery. I spent nearly an hour or more daily, on a level 3, charger, charging. Thank you for getting me to the airport. It was an unexpected gesture, but very appreciated. I would recommend this location and rent from them again.

I rented from this branch for work purposes, so reliability mattered. Unfortunately, over multiple rentals I was given vehicles with serious issues: * Unsanitary conditions (including insect/roach presence) * Mechanical problems (warning lights and drivability concerns) * Safety concerns (severely worn/bald tires) I reported these issues at the time, and the location was aware of them. Despite that, no effective solution was provided and I was not given a viable replacement. I had to continue dealing with these problems, which cost me time, income, and significant stress. What followed was even worse. I spent over four months going back and forth with Avis Budget Group, dealing with delays, repeated follow-ups, and being ignored at times just to get basic responses. Only after significant escalation (including formal complaints) did they finally confirm that a refund was approved, stating it would be processed within 3-5 business days. It has now been over 10 business days, and: * No refund has been received * My bank confirms no transaction was ever initiated * Client Relations has stopped responding There is also a clear discrepancy in the refund amount: * Amount requested: $1,213.59 (baseline rental costs for defective vehicles) * Amount they referenced: $910.10, with no explanation provided for the difference Instead of resolving this, the company continues to delay and push the issue without providing a clear or final solution. After months of effort, follow-ups, and escalation, there is still no actual resolution. This reflects a serious lack of accountability, communication, and follow-through. I would update this review if the issue is properly resolved, but as of now, this has been an extremely time-consuming and frustrating experience.

So I booked it online when my reservations time finally comes igo to get my rental the girl first tell me there is no car here and available they waiting on some to come from Airport. Cool one arrives she starts the process than tell me I can't pay with debit If I was originally told this I wouldn't never came all the way over here in uber due to my car being in shop. It was a waste of time and I'm so not happy. My wife and I rented from here years ago and it was fine no credit card needed, but today was all bad very rude Associates and liars if yall wanted business just be real.

I reserved and prepaid for my car a month in advance (as an Avis Preferred member). Arrived @ the Sarasota airport and rec'd an email that I could use the Avis app to "check in now and SAVE TIME AT THE COUNTER". Low and behold that feature of the app says it's unavailable. To our horror, the Buget/Avis line is out the door with people telling us they've been waiting for over an hr and the line has not moved. Being a "Preferred" member, I make my way up to where THAT line is supposed to be. Nope, a MOB of people standing in the way of the line telling us that everyone if the extremely long line is a preferred member. Back of the line we go, where we wait for over an hour.. maybe moving up 2 spots in a line that looks to be about 300 deep. I decide to again make my way up to the "Preferred area", where there is a line of 3 other people waiting. I proceed to stand and WAIT in that line for almost another hour. Let it be known that THERE IS A PREFERRED LINE (The understandably irritated guests that had already waiting for hours were attempting to block the entrance to it). Now, we're into it for 2 hrs. Finally get up to the counter where other people in line are shouting at one another. Tempers are flaring as some have waited THREE HOURS PLUS in this cluster F&CK!!!! And this is for cars that we have all pre-paid for ... so we're all trapped at this point!! I get to the counter and wait ANOTHER 30 mins while the single clerk calls back and forth on her phone trying to find out where our mini van is (and apparently the keys cannot be found - she rummaged through her pile of 20 or so keys). She finally sends us out the lot where she tells us it'll be about 10 mins and thanks us for our patience. Well, we wait ANOTHER 20 mins out in the lot before a single mini van shows up. Of course there are other groups also standing and waiting and they rush to the minivan (where the clerk has to sort out who's car this is). Thankfully ours. We were utterly exhausted after the almost THREE hour ordeal to get a car. NEVER again, Avis. Never. Ever.Again. I can't imagine if I was NOT a "Preferred" Avis member. I'm certain at least 4 hrs of my vacation would have been waiting in that ugly line.
