To make a long story short I ended up six garbage bags worth of laundry for the fluff and fold service.

After a quick Yelp search for a local laundromat (I always thought it was "laundrymat" until recently), I found Lavanderia El Guero Laundromat in the top three with a five-star rating. Easy choice, right? Shop front - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=V6-BZ7y0k7Q9Nas82TxRPQ&userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ Armed with Tide, Downy, and a roll of quarters, I headed there one Tuesday afternoon. Luckily, there were only two other people in the whole place. Even better, the machines accepted Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards, so if you're short on cash, no worries! Photo - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=X01uZLVezcxVg5czi_6kqA&userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ One important tip: read the operating instructions carefully. I didn't, and ended up making a bit of a mess by not closing the washer door before adding detergent and fabric softener. Lesson learned! Take the time to read the instructions, folks. Clean & spacious - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Rv8KVIfPaxd9eCxQvmkyfQ&userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ Having my own washer and dryer at home has always been convenient, but you really appreciate it when you have to use a public laundromat. I loaded up the 6X washer, costing $7, with a total wash time of 24 minutes. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=WAZS3OdQN3YqdB0V4yekTA&userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ And then... the waiting. It made me realize how fortunate I am to have my own setup at home. There, I can multitask while doing laundry--cook, clean, work, or just relax and watch TV. No need to rush to get my clothes out for the next person. After the wash, I moved my stuff to the dryer for $1 for 20 minutes, totaling $2. I spent a little over an hour there, with a grand total of $9. Whether you need a regular place for laundry or just occasionally for those large items, Lavanderia El Guero Laundromat won't disappoint. - Big Aloha! Food: n/a Ambiance: 3 Service: 4 Value: 5

Would give zero stars if I could. Appalled at the behavior of an Employee by the name of Laticia…read more TLDR- Showed up at 9pm because website said 9:30 was last wash. Employee said 9:30p as well when we arrived and then 5 minutes later locked the doors on us and then as good as mocked me while also admitting she didn't care and doesn't give sh!t about her customers when I asked. She told me her name is Laticia and then refused to provide me with her boss's name/info so I told her not to worry because I would find it and would be calling them. I also let her know I would be leaving reviews and to look for them in the near future. Long Version- We showed up to this location at 8:54p exactly since I looked online and saw conflicting times that they closed. Google says 9p but their website says "LAST LOAD 9:30p." I see that both of the doors are propped open when we pull up so I jumped out to find out what time is correct. There were maybe 3-4 people inside, including the employee mentioned above, so I asked very clearly "Do you close at 9p or 9:30p?" The first answer I heard was 10p but I knew that most likely wasn't right so I asked "9 or 9:30?" again. The employee and another person both said 9:30pm and I responded "That's great! Thank you, we really need to get this laundry done! We will go quick!" So I went out to where my bf parked the car, which was right outside the doors that are still propped open. By now it's almost 9pm on the dot so we start to take out our bags to bring them inside. I looked back at the door at 9:05p to see the doors shut. I didn't think anything about it until I tried to open the door and it was locked. I could see the employee in the back watching tv with another man. I knocked several times until I was finally acknowledged. She came to the door & cracked it. I'm not sure if she was having trouble understanding me speaking English, or if she was just trying to get me to leave her alone, but it felt like the latter. Regardless, what made me the most angry was the way she mockingly SMILED during the following interaction. This is as close to verbatim as I can accurately remember: Me- "Are you closing now?" Laticia- "Yes we are closed." Me- "What do you mean closed, you just told me not even 10 minutes ago that we had half an hour. Why did you tell me that and then shut the doors when you can see us directly outside?" (STILL SMILING) Laticia- "I don't know..." Me- "Do you even care that you did that?"(*she doesn't respond to this verbally- she just passively agreed) Me- "Oh no? You don't care at all? You don't give a shit about us or anyone else?" To which she continued to smile and nod. Me- "Well that's nice, now we know to never come back here. What's your name?" She answers here so then I asked "What is your bosses name and phone number?" but this she refused to give me. I said that it didn't matter because I could find out just as easily on my own and I hope you enjoy reading reviews about you because I will be sure to post about my experience. and I will also be calling your boss." I have never been treated so poorly by someone in "customer service" and was prepared to use this laundromat regularly but will never go back. I understand people have bad days etc. but this was blatant and her lack of sympathy and empathy and basic kindness was and still is appalling. We will be taking our business literally anywhere else. The laundry card will be deducted based on how much time you want to use the dryer. For washing it was just a flat fee. I put about $40 on mine (you don't need that much I just only had $20 bills). I used up about $30. I washed and dried 3 comforters and it only took about 1 hour from start to finish. The owner saw that I looked lost and showed me what to do. I wanted to get it done before I headed into work (it was obvious as I was wearing scrubs). In any event, had a great conversation with the owner who is a UCI graduate. I was there at 8am and only about 2 people were there. Very clean place, plenty of parking and a nice Mexican restaurant (El Maguey) and a Mexican market in the plaza. Will definitely come back here to wash my comforters!

My Google Assistant actually called it Victoria Coin Laundry, which is consistent with the sign outside. It was a bit on the small side. it had plenty of washers and dryers but no place to sit while your clothes are washing or drying. No public restroom. No attendant on site. The Max Load Washer at $6.00 was purdy much what I'd expect to pay for a washer that size. It leaked water on the floor creating a safety hazard to myself and more important other customers who may not notice the water on the floor. i was concerned that since I t was leaking it wouldn't wash my clothes properly. There were a couple of items that didn't come out as clean as I'd like. I'll take the blame for that it's is possible that I didn't pretreat well enough. The dryer did a reasonable job of drying the clothes considering how wet my clothes was after the spin ccycle. I usually only need 30 min to dry so I knew It would take longer . 40 min did it. Since I actually was passing through San Clemente on a Spontaneous weekend roadtrip and had laundry on my to do list it is highly unlikely that I'll ever return. Especially because there was no place for me to sit down, no public restroom, and no attendant onsite to handle situations.
