Listen to what the other reviews mention - Mark Thomas is the best and is well worth it…read more I recently purchases a duplex down in Bayview and he was recommended to me by my realtor, Norm Terapak (Terapak Realty), as being the best. After calling up and speaking with his assistant about his rates and time, I noticed that it was a little more expensive than other home inspectors. She did mention that it is since he is the best, has the best reports, gets on the roof, and takes his time going through. I took Norm and her word for it and had Mark take a look at the property. His assistant called to let me know that he was running late due to traffic yet he still showed up on time, which is always a plus. We spent more than 4 hours looking through EVERYTHING, and I mean he looked at and tested everything. I have been told that most inspectors don't go up on roofs anymore yet Mark got up on the roof, snapped pictures, and was checking it out for 15 minutes. Mark uses a digital camera to take dozens of pictures and has a laptop on site that he uploads them to right away. He puts together his digital report as he goes. In all he provided a digital PDF copy of the report that was 37 pages long with so much detail. Not only did it include a few pictures on each page, descriptions, but also diagrams of how to correct it or what it should look like. Mark also knew I was a first time duplex buyer and would educate me along the way, show me various items, and explain things in detail so I would understand and know for the future. He was very educational and helpful. He may be a little more expensive than others yet what he found I was able to get some serious money knocked off the price so it was money very well spent. Highly recommend Mark and will be using him in the future.

Another happy camper with Mark Thomas's work. He came highly recommended and scheduling with his…read moreassistant, Nicole, was as fast and as easy as could be. All of the other reviewers are right, he is incredibly thorough, describes things in a way anyone could understand and goes over the report with you on-site. He says some inspection places don't do the report on-site and I think that would be really inconvenient. As we were talking he mentioned some things that I then asked him to include in the report and he was happy to do so. What a drag it would have been to go over it all myself and ask for changes later. You can't go wrong here if you need the best.

Insulation. If you live in Wisconsin, you need it- yet so many of the older vintage homes either…read moredon't have it at all- or not enough to make any kind of impact on our winters. Or as was the case in one of my old homes- it was as if they stuffed newspapers in the walls along with horsehair and while it might have been the best option at the time- I am quite sure that it had no R rating at all! (although it did make me laugh to read some of the headlines from a early 20th century paper that I pulled out of the wall!). Alpine has done three of my old homes to date (two of them income properties with me as a remote owner). I find them to be quick with an estimate, willing to work around the other contractors, and reasonably priced. They also are willing to step in and fix things if a problem arises along the way. Case in point- one of my old houses had issues with cracking in the interior plaster walls from the insulation being blown in from the outside. Alpine was quick to come in, clean up any insulation that got inside and then repair the walls. Much appreciated given I don't live in the area any more. Love old houses. Hate the drafts. But with Alpine insulation, I can have the vintage home I love without the high energy bills that I don't.

They have extremely rude employees at the Sheboygan WI location....they frequent where I work and…read morethey are very rude and nasty to the employees. They even go as far as harassing people with handicaps....how pathetic....do not hire them they will do a sub par job and overcharge you.

I'm sure there are a lot of good realtors out there but Karen is simply one of the best. I had one…read moremonth to find, inspect, obtain mortgage, appraise, purchase, and move to a new home. I told her up front my timeline and she was immediately sending me links to home ideas. The next day she took me on a whirlwind of showings. Once I decided on a place, she connected me with an amazing inspector. She communicated quickly and efficiently with the inspector, my lender, seller's realtor, and the builder. Karen obtained needed documents from all parties and ensured everything was in order so the loan could be written in time. Even after the purchase, Karen followed up many times to see how things were going and help with after purchase questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone that wants a down-to-earth, no drama, rational realtor who is going to do everything she can to help you find the right home!

'The Wicked Witch of Real Estate' This woman may be a fine realtor, but she is an abusive,…read moredismissive landlord. For years my parents lived in and cared for a home owned by her in Sheboygan county. They fixed the sidewalk themselves after pleading with her to do so, they planted a garden, grew flowers and cared for the yard. They struggled with MANY repair issues from the plumbing of the dishwasher to the lighting/electricity and when she failed to call or hire someone herself she told them they could only spend $50 on the estimate/repair or she would not pay for it. When she did send repairmen to fix problems, they were simply friends or neighbors of hers who did odd jobs and we're not typically certified in the profession. Concerns would go days or weeks without reply, but when it was something important to the Wicked Witch, calls were answered or returned promptly. The icing on the cake was when my father, a tenant of 4 years, passed away last fall, Karen took a whole 12 hours to pretend she was even remotely bothered or saddened by his passing. She dropped off some flowers and then within a day she was back to not responding to emails or messages from her widowed tenant. The real abuse and harassment began when my mother opted to end her lease (and leave the home her husband of 35 years died inside of). Karen would sent belittling emails or passive aggressive text messages to my grieving mother about charging her extra if she didn't clean properly or looking for rent that was postmarked by the first of the month AS IT SHOULD BE. During the GLOBAL PANDEMIC she insisted on entering my mother's rental property with strangers when the governor had CLEARLY stated it was illegal to do so during the 'stay at home order' and only backed off after we sent documents from the government stating these terms of social distancing put in order to protect people. At the end of the day, I guarantee you can find a better realtor and DEFINITELY a better person to represent you. Don't choose the Wicked Witch of Real Estate.
