Insulation. If you live in Wisconsin, you need it- yet so many of the older vintage homes either don't have it at all- or not enough to make any kind of impact on our winters. Or as was the case in one of my old homes- it was as if they stuffed newspapers in the walls along with horsehair and while it might have been the best option at the time- I am quite sure that it had no R rating at all! (although it did make me laugh to read some of the headlines from a early 20th century paper that I pulled out of the wall!). Alpine has done three of my old homes to date (two of them income properties with me as a remote owner). I find them to be quick with an estimate, willing to work around the other contractors, and reasonably priced. They also are willing to step in and fix things if a problem arises along the way. Case in point- one of my old houses had issues with cracking in the interior plaster walls from the insulation being blown in from the outside. Alpine was quick to come in, clean up any insulation that got inside and then repair the walls. Much appreciated given I don't live in the area any more. Love old houses. Hate the drafts. But with Alpine insulation, I can have the vintage home I love without the high energy bills that I don't. read more

They have extremely rude employees at the Sheboygan WI location....they frequent where I work and they are very rude and nasty to the employees. They even go as far as harassing people with handicaps....how pathetic....do not hire them they will do a sub par job and overcharge you. read more

Alpine Insulation did the drywall for my basement reno. For an additional $820 they offered to paint. I was specific about wanting pure white on the walls and ceiling. What I got was an off white custard color that is unbearable to look at and throws off every other color choice I had planned including the installed flooring. They refused to be of any help and said "it's what we use on new builds" which could suggest the paint was left over from another job. In addition to the wrong color paint, they sprayed over windows, woodwork, and outlets, leaving smudges and drips throughout. I now have to pay AGAIN to have the basement repainted because the color they used is unacceptable. read more

From start to finish, working with Alpine (for insualtion as well as drywall) was a good choice for us. Dylan, the estimator was great! He communicated quickly every time I had a question, even if he didn't have the answer, he made sure someone followed up with me. They started the work as soon as we were ready for them. There were a couple of tiny bumps, which can be typical with any largely custom job. Once the drywall work started, it was typical to see a day or two in between the different crews that performed the different duties in order to insure the previous step had adequate drying time. They did a great job at masking prior to the messy part and cleaning up when they were all finished. The finished job looks great! read more

Don't bother! Their service from the very beginning is unreliable and unbelievably frustrating. Sales person didn't note appointment and consequently didn't show. Called a little while later and admitted he wasn't sure when he was supposed to come. Had to reschedule for the next day. We were very straight forward and firm on the start date since we were coordinating the contractors and building inspector before and after insulation. We were given a good price and told the start date was fine. Accepted proposal the next day. Spent three very aggravating days after trying to get the sales person to call and confirm, encountering an office where no one seemed to know what was going on and were not very pleasant to boot and in the end was given a start date three days after when we needed it (which would risk us losing the drywall contractor or getting pushed way out by him). The electrician finished when they said they would. The building inspector came when he said he would. The drywall contractor was very patient in waiting for a confirmation on his start date. Everyone was very professional EXCEPT ALPINE! Worst experience I have had to date since building our house, adding a second garage, completing one addition and now with this second addition to the house. We have been the general contractor on all of these projects and own our own business in a related field so we do know what we are doing and what to expect. We've since been told by others in the construction field that is how they operate. They don't show up on time if at all, don't answer their phones, don't return calls... Unprofessional! Our general contractor subbed the insulation and drywall work to these clowns because they were billed as an end to end solution. *Communication and scheduling with this company is atrocious* Strike 1: Insulation done, nobody called for the inspector. The GC thought Alpine would do it, Alpine never told the GC insulation was done and inspector needed to be called. Cost = 3 days. Strike 2: Hangers left a HUGE mess. Didn't tell us, the home owner, or the GC that a cleanup crew would be sent. Two days later, Saturday of Labor Day weekend after much prodding, two guys finally showed up to clean up and paper the floor to prep for finishers. Strike 3: Finisher told me, the home owner, as he was leaving after sanding, that a different crew would be out the next day to prime. Next day, no show, no call. Day after no show no call. Finally sales guy returns the GC's call and says the NEXT day, they would be out to apply a skim coat, which would need to be sanded the following Monday after which they could prime. Now all the work that has been waiting on drywall / paint to get done (paint, floors, doors / trim, plumbing, HVAC) needs to be pushed back - again! In all 3 cases above, communication and scheduling fall down. The actual work seems to my eye to be OK, but this is *far* from a well oiled machine. read more

My salesman called 5 min before appointment only to tell me he wasn't going to make it. That should have been my first clue they were unreliable. Now I have been waitng a week for insulation only to find out their equipment is down. Never a courtesy call. Switching to someone else! read more

I would never recommend this company to anyone! They are horrible at communication. Mark said they were going to be there to insulate and over two weeks was waited for them to come stalling the drywall. I have never had such poor communication with a business before. Insulation guys finally showed up and made a mess by spilling diesel fuel over the front concrete porch and in the house. They have not come to clean up the mess and have not finished the job. Ended up firing them from the project. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to do the insulation!! read more

Well I just called them to see if they would come out and give me a quote to add insulation to our attic. The guy they transferred me to was extremely unhelpful. In the end I asked if he would like to come and give a quote. He actually said no and it was because thy were booked out far enough for him. Oh, too much business for you. That just goes to show you what there work would be like. read more

Real problems in this company. Crew showed up 4 hours late and didn't have the tools to do the job. Rescheduled and then left with job incomplete. After multiple unanswered phone calls, I finally told the president of the company that I was going to hire the competition to finish the job and pay Alpine what was left. They came out the next day and did the work. Will hire the competition first and forget about Alpine next time. read more

Spent my winter in Wisconsin for business purposes... stayed in a big, 4-bedroom home I rented from a family friend while I was there for about 5 months. As part of the arrangement, I was responsible for a handful of "home" projects. After dealing with Alpine I decided, I'd rather freeze than ever have to call these morons again. Upon receiving a recommendation for Alpine Insulation to insulate our garage ceiling I was very disappointed in their company. I had an appointment at 11:30 (over my lunch hour). After waiting a half hour I called the office to see where Randy was or if he was still coming over to give me an estimate. The office girl who answered the phone was unaware of the appointment and passed me thru his voice mail. After waiting another 10 minutes and still a no-show I called the office back (very upset) and was told I would have to get in contact with Randy on his cell. I called his cell and no answer. I therefore went back to work as my lunch was over. Randy finally called me and told me he was at an apt in Fond du Lac and could not get to a phone. Really! In today's world with cell phones you can't get to your phone to call me when you have a scheduled apt or call the office girl to say he is running late. Who doesn't have their cell phone on them these days. Very poor......never ever bothered to call me back and try to re-schedule. Communication and scheduling - terrible!
