Ok, so here's the deal: I'm bunking at the 'rents place - indefinitely…read more They live in a beautiful townhome in Brookhaven, right off Vermont Rd, and it even has an elevator (which I used for the first time when my mom - who'd done my substantial amount of laundry - convinced me it would be easier to take the elevator v stairs to get it upstairs . . . she was right). It's a pretty great spot for a couple in their 60s with grown kids (who live out of town- my brother- or only occasionally need shelter- me) as there is a nice floorplan, number of rooms, a den for my dad, etc. The only BIG ding I would give - as this is probably my fave place my parents have lived since they sold the house where I grew up - is that some of the neighbors are real assholes. There is VERY little visitor parking - four spots in the complex and they are really tight - and despite following my dad's very explicit instructions about where to park and to make sure I pulled in "tight" - I found a nasty note on my car (unsigned, of course) when I took Luke out this am, to the effect that I wasn't supposed to park there. Well, I don't have a garage door opener and it's frowned upon to park outside your garage . . . so . . . . Other than that, if you're looking for a multi-story town home in Brookhaven, to rent or buy- check them out.
