I never feel like I'm imposing when I call the office. Many doctor's offices have extremely rude stuff but not this one. There is one point I'd like to bring to light - the office is stuck in the late 90s/early 2000s as far as technology and service. They don't have the capability to submit prescriptions to a pharmacy electronically which is a GIANT pain. I have to budget an extra hour to any visit in case something is prescribed in order to drive to the pharmacy, stand in line, and hand them a paper prescription. THEN I have to drive back later to pick it up because I don't have time to hang out in the pharmacy for an hour while it is filled. It feels like the 1970s to me. Every doctor I've been seeing since 2005 submits electronically and many times the order is filled within the hour for easy pick up later at my convenience. As far as I know, New York state law mandates all prescriptions must be submitted electronically (to prevent drug abuse) so I'd be interested in what exemption this office is using to get out of the mandate. Secondly, they don't seem to have the ability to accept bill payments via the internet. In 2022! They want you to mail in a piece of paper with your credit card information or call them over the phone to give them your credit card information - not very secure, convenient, or modern at all.

My husband called 911 and although I was in agony I was aware how great the ambulance people were: Amazing, and once we go to Stony Brook U Hospital everyone was terrific. I asked people their names but sorry to say I can't remember them. I will say PA Kathryn Walton was amazing. She did an awesome job stitching up my laceration, and she was so kind, professional and comforting. Dr. Brian McMahon was THE NICEST doctor! He took such great care of me. He was so considerate and I knew I was in great hands. I can't say enough wonderful things about these two physicians. Additionally, Everyone I came into contact with was amazing........nurses, aids, transport people, Xray and Cat Scan techs. I had a very long recovery, and thought about how fortunate I was to get the exceptional care that I did from all these people. God bless them, and Thank you to all of them. This was an experience I will long remember, especially because of the care I received.

I feel bad for the patients who think they are getting #1 care here and don't know that there is better. If it's your only choice bc you couldn't get into a better residency, I'm so sorry - the match is rough. Or as a patient, if you live in the beautiful Three Village area and need to come here, I hope you have a simple illness, like an uncomplicated pneumonia. Otherwise, it would be in your best interest to receive care elsewhere where the physicians are more curious and strive for better quality care from the top down. One recc, if you have a loved one who is hospitalized for more than three days, get the monthly parking pass. In order of satisfaction from top to bottom - elevator system - concessions on first floor like Starbucks - first floor entrance security people - monthly parking pass available - case managers - neurosurgery team - nurses aids/sitters - ED resident - food ordering system - nutritionist - first floor check in clerk - attending hospitalists - GI team - Radiology support - Electronic medical system Good luck! I recently had to call and move an appointment (after they moved a different one of mine) and they had only 2 other times available for over a month (unfortunately both of which I am at work in another state). The front desk person was argumentative and rude when I told her I was frustrated with the lack of flexibility (and just wanted it noted so doctors were aware)--especially since they had pushed my other appointment out which left me with a longer gap. She instead continued to argue with me that they weren't inflexible and had availability, it just didn't work for me. (Again 2 options in over a month isn't super flexible but that's fine, I know they are busy it was just my opinion ). When I told her I didn't want to argue I just wanted to confirm next steps and share that I was frustrated for it to be noted, she hung up.
