Stopped off this Memorial Weekend (2026) on our way from our home in SW Virginia, heading to Nashville. For a small place, its service and food vastly belie the compact nature of its environment. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long, long time, and this just returning from San Diego, CA, a place known for great burgers, notably "Hodads". The side salad was, unbelievably, even better. Fresh, robust in size, and it just complemented the burger better than I'd have ever imagined. My wife had mixed veggies, avocado, rice, and pintos. All were good/great but the pintos were singularly her plates star. The place was impeccably clean, including the bathrooms. Staff was courteous and professional in all interactions. Literally a smaller venue in a smaller town, that easily is punching above its weight class. Highly recommended. read more

This was a lovely little find on our way back from TN to MD, just of 81 in Marion, VA. We all got the burrito bowls - chicken & steak. Good quantity for the price, the bowl was $10! The service was lovely, the restaurant was clean and staff friendly . The sweet ice tea was great on a warm spring day. This is just off exit 45 on 81N so don't drive past when you take the exit. One of my favorite breakfast spots in the area. Good food and reasonably priced. Strongly suggest the Mexican Omelet.

Exit 45, off I/81. Delicious black beans and Mexican rice. Turkey sandwich is good quality turkey, with bacon (good flavor), sliced avocado, tomato and lettuce, with mayonnaise on Texas toast. The food is always good with fresh ingredients , we cannot get past the excellent omelets , BloodyMary's , hash browns , and fresh salads. Great place right off the highway! We were driving back to Baltimore after a bachelorette party in Asheville! All we could find were fast food chains! This place lives up to the hype! The service is beyond quick- despite a line out the door- it was very fast, barely a wait. The ambiance is kinda nice- everyone is chatting, happy and it did not appear that anyone left hungry! I had the Turkey Club sandwich as a wrap and so did my friend. It was SO GOOD. So fresh and perfect proportions. I had the side of fries- wish I had tried the curly fries. My friend had fresh fruit and she said it was insanely ripe and delicious! Lastly- the price was right! We each paid $16.25 and had diet cokes as well! read more

What a surprise on Interstate 81. Sur 81 is an excellent spot for early or late breakfast and a selection of sandwiches and burgers. I had the Mexican chorizo burrito, plenty of ingredients, mild chorizo but crunchy fresh jalapeños. Topped with a fried egg--a bit overcooked on this day. Served with red and green chilies sauce, it is a generous serving for its $9 price tag. Sur 81 a mid-century modern style building--open interior, not crowded with too many tables. Clean and well-kept. Service was attentive, friendly. Plenty of parking and just off the interstate exit. Probably a regular lunch stop for me in southwest Virginia. read more

This restaurant is amazing! We found it accidentally as we drove on I-81 in Marion VA. It was conveniently located right next to the exit ramp. It's clean and tastefully organized with various textures of gray on the floor, walls and tables. The menu has several pages of options: burgers, tacos, sandwiches and loaded nachos , fries or tater tots. I chose very loaded tots, topped with carnitas (shredded meat), black beans, Mexican rice, onions, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, salsa. It was a savory delicious mountain of food! My husband chose soft shelled tacos with steak, cheese, salsa, lettuce beans, tomato. They were delicious but not as amazing as crispy tots covered with so many yummy things. Update: 10/12/2021 Breakfast order for my husband: a half order of biscuits and gravy. It came with two eggs (scrambled at his request). Everything tasted homemade and had the perfect amount of seasoning. My order: #3... 1/2 order French Toast with sausage patty and 2 eggs (over easy at my request). I added an order of house potatoes (home fries). Everything was excellent! Service was friendly and attentive, not overbearing. This place is super clean and bright. The only thing we'd add is cushions to the chairs (we've been hiking and biking!). We'll be back again soon!! read more

Food here is awesome but don't bother ordering the tap beer. It's obvious that they don't properly clean the system. First beer took them over 5 minutes to pour and was totally flat. I sent it back. I ordered another brand on tap and it was also totally flat. I would give the food top rating but if they don't fix their tap system they will constantly get complaints. read more

This is a great breakfast place. Hidden away in the southwest part of Virginia, my wife and I went here with some dear friends. The hash browns were delicious. I don't know what the south does when it comes to hash browns but they have the west beat far and away. We paid $46, tip not included, for 4 adults and 2 children. When my wife and I ate breakfast (just the 2 of us) in California we paid $43 dollars. I'm sure we will be back this way, Lord willing. Highly recommended. read more

My family stopped here on a whim for a late breakfast while passing through. We're so glad we did! All of our food was well-made and delicious. Make sure to come here hungry because the portions are not skimpy! The sides of fresh fruit that came with our breakfast helped to balance the hearty meals. A bonus to our visit, my 3 year old got the idea of wanting "burger pancakes" out of nowhere. I asked if they had sausage patties and to just put one on top of a pancake for him. They pulled through for this mama! It was such a relief to not have to talk my kid down from a tantrum. It's that kind of extra step in customer service that deserves five stars. read more
