Such a cool museum! Admission is just $5/person. There was a short video playing in one room and some teas but no hot water dispenser. The other side of the museum is the main exhibit, and there is so much information to take in. The museum is so educational and rich. We stayed for around an hour. If you don't have a car, you can try to take the 302 bus or walk over from the casino. The walk to and from the casino is kind of long and along a busy road. The museum is also very close to Chief Seattle's grave and the waterfront. I recommend checking those out if you visit too!

Looking back at entry to exhibition space.

A superb museum experience that breaks down a culture that many have never heard of nor experienced. Chief Seattle was a part of the Suquamish people, and not five minutes walk from the museum you can visit where he is buried. An easy day trip from Seattle, this museum elevates one's understanding of Northwest Coast peoples, their timeless history, the settlers' betrayal, and the insistence on indigenous knowledge to guide all of us to collective action and ultimate redemption. Donate more than they charge.

This is a wonderful museum. The exhibits and information about the history of the Suquamish people is detailed and moving. It's not large but it holds a lot of information and exhibits. The setting, inside and out, is beautiful. Afterwards we visited the grave of Chief Sealth, whom I have a new and better understanding of. Not to be missed.

An excellent museum of native culture and history.

We certainly agree with all the praise for this beautiful museum. The exhibits are extremely informative. Every WA resident should be sure to visit because the native story is a critical part of our history.

I ended up having a fascinating discussion with an artist about some of his stunning artwork depicting photos of nebulas and other beauties of outer space. These works are full of glorious color and I simply couldn't believe they started out as photos taken from here on Earth ... they looked Hubble-worthy! I ended up purchasing a very special wire animal sculpture that called to me, and I believe I will be back to add one of the astral photos to my collection at a future date. Prices were very reasonable and the owners (George and Rebecca) were very friendly. George even carried my purchase to my car, parked a couple of blocks away! If you like art and unusual gifts, don't miss this gallery!

We walked to see the store and we greeted the lady quietly as she was on the phone and we didn't want to interrupt. I saw that they had cigar box guitars so I was fascinated by them. I checked to see if they had a sign or anything but they did not. So I carefully picked it up gently and strummed some chords. It was all hooked up to an amp and everything so I assumed it would be okay to strum unplugged quietly. She quickly got off of the phone I assumed to help us but instead she accused my girlfriend if taking pictures when she was not. She was merely checking a fb post. She continued to talk us down by saying that there is a sign near the door when you walk in and that it is common knowledge that you don't pictures in art galleries and museums. She also said that it is nice to ask permission to touch items in the store before doing so. She continued to tell me most people have respect for other people's things. We shrugged it off because we didn't want to start anything. It wasn't really until my gf told me she wasn't taking pictures that I lost my patience after we left. Because I was apologizing profusely for her taking pictures when she wasn't. I went back and let her know that her practice of business is garbage that the way she talked to me and my gf was not okay and she needs re visit customer service if she was gonna continue to run a successful business. She was very quick to show me the door and to not tell her what to do with her business. I wished her luck running her business.

I would say, however, that at peak tourist season in August parking can be tight. There are numerous eating options. There are art galleries, artisan souvenir shops, a bakery, chocolatier, a book store, and several apparel stores. Of course there are bars and wineries. The big surprise is that this is a "Norwegian" town with flags up and down the main streets. Who knew? As you turn into the town there is a large viking statue that says "welcome" in Norwegian. There are lots of Norwegian-themed stores and restaurants. Since I've been to Norway four times, I have watched a lot Viking shows on the History channel. I have never seen any description of Vikings in the Pacific Northwest. No one in town seems to know how or why the Vikings arrived. So that a mystery to me. Overall, Poulsbo is both livable and an attractive place to spend a day as a tourist. People are friendly and happy. I understand why.

The tower rooms are very conveniently attached to the casino and easy to get back-and-forth to your room. If you stay in a Resort Room, that building is not attached and you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the casino. I would say that that's the only downfall during the winter time of staying over there. But that is where the pool is so it just depends on what you're looking for at your stay. I have no complaints about the room, very clean and nice decor. My husband wished there was room service for breakfast the next morning but that is not available. I also wish they had valet parking. There is not nearly enough parking in the parking lot so if you don't find parking, you have to park in the parking garage and then walk all the way around back in to the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and the checkout process was easy. The second part of this review is going to be on the service from my work holiday party. The room was beautifully set up and the food was delicious. The staff that were coming around refilling water and taking plates were very attentive and friendly. We really liked Richard. The one employee that we encountered was the bartender assigned to our room. My first encounter from her I thought she was just having a bad day and I let it go. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Not even a smile. But as the night went on people started talking and it seemed everyone was having a not so good encounter from Robyn. She did not ID anyone all night, except my coworker that asked for a mocktail. She was rude to some people and unprofessional to others. It just progressively got worse. Yes the management will be reaching out to the contact they have at the casino to let them know. I was just so taken back about how somebody could go out of their way to be so rude at a fun holiday party. Other than that, the experience was great and I would highly recommend renting an event room there. Is it worth the drive?...yes
