Al, it's good to see you in the Sugraland area, again. This location information is old. Supreme Shave is now in the Salons by JC off 59 and Sweetwater Rd. For others looking for a good beard and hair barber, without those crazy corporate store front location prices, this is the place. I have gone to the Heights, I have gone to the Montrose locations. I have tried all these pop up locations who claim they can do these services. All were a waste of time and a bunch of overpriced bad cuts. Ive been a customer with Al going on three years.. If you want an excellent beard and haircut Barber in the Houston area, this guy is it. I am being honest, you don't need to look further than this gentleman. As much as I want to give a higher rating I can't. I signed up for his "membership" and the biggest waste of money to date. It literally does nothing special, no cheaper haircuts or anything. I can have a beer with it,WOW! What pissed me off even more, I had to reschedule an appointment because my wife went into labor and he won't see me again until I pay the "cancelation fee". Look, I get the cancellation fee and all that, but when I pay $200 a year to be a "member" you should waive that crap. Not only did he lose a customer, my friends and family will not be returning to him either. As others have said, great haircut and beard trim, but not worth the headache with his ego and crap customer service. There are plenty of barbers in the area. If you go to him, don't be sold on the shitty "membership" package and make sure if you schedule you go, even on your death bed, because he doesn't care. I've been a monthly customer of Al's for over 15 years. He's the absolute best, both as a barber and with beard trims/custom shaves. This is not the place to go if you're looking for a bottom-basement experience. Al only offers premium services, at prices that are very reasonable for the quality you receive. I have been coming here for 15 months now. I called late in the afternoon to schedule an appointment for the next day. Something came up a few hours later (after close) and I knew wouldn't be able to make it to the appointment the next day. I called as soon as they opened to reschedule and apologize but instead the owner (Al) told me find a new barbershop. I had never rescheduled or canceled during the 15 months of consistent business. Relatively new to the area and still in the process of finding my go to place for a hair cut. The hours are a bit limited, which is tough for me and my work schedule and Saturdays seem to fill up. Eventually got in for a hair cut, which turned out okay. Thought it was a little pricey for what I'm used to paying, but he did seem careful. However, the thing that really worried me was hearing him to talk a customer that called in to reschedule an appointment. Super bad attitude. I've gotten a beard trim here a few times and they've done a great job; however, the price and booking process is enough to keep me from coming back. A simple beard trim is $35... which is about 3x a much as anywhere else. Secondly, in order to make an appointment, and you must as they don't take walk-ins, you must pay in advance and is not refunded if canceled in 24 hours. I understand the position they're in if people make appointments and cancel, but there's a certain amount of risk you have to take as a business owner. Paying 3x as much for a beard trim and paying in advance is enough to keep me from returning. read more

So just walked in and kinda got kicked out of this place. Happened upon it while coming out of another business and my son (10yo) needs a haircut and he asked to go here. Walked in and was asked if we had an appointment, there were only two people there (Saturday morning at 10am) and said no, we are happy to wait. Then was told "we have a 12yo and up" policy. My son is hardly a kid and doesn't go to "kids places" anymore. We will be going back to our usual place and I definitely won't be recommending this place to my husband, brothers or for other sons. They post their hours 9a-6p Tues-Friday. Went there at 4:30 on Tuesday. Doors locked and no one in the shop. Lights on but nobody was home. Called no answer. Strange way to run a business. Guess the closedown and didn't tell anyone. read more

I have been here a couple times and have had excellent experiences! Al does an excellent job at beard trims and shaping. Most recently, I got a haircut and beard trim by Jennifer and it was HANDS DOWN the best haircut I've ever had! She cut it EXACTLY how I wanted it. Most places I go cut my hair too short and not how I like it, but Jennifer nailed it! She used to teach cosmetology and definitely knows what she's doing. Both Al and Jennifer are very friendly. The new shop offers free beer or soda pop while you wait, which is nice as well. I love that they don't try and sell you any products, but have a few if you do need some. Definitely recommend this place for guys looking for a quality haircut and/or shave! read more

Being new to the Houston Area I was searching for a hair stylist that could service my hair piece. I had a difficult time finding anyone in the Richmond area and very few in Houston proper. I called Supreme Shave and explained my situation with Al Gonzales the owner and he told me sure we can meet your needs. That has been 5 years ago. I have worn a hair piece for 40 years and I have never received service like I have at Supreme Shave. I would highly recommend Al he is simply the best I have ever seen. He gave me an excellent hair cut and styled my hairpiece perfectly. The price for servicing a hair piece is more than reasonable. You don't want to go anywhere else. You will not be sorry !! This place is AMAZING, the owner AL GONZALEZ is so cool, I took my son Max who's 14 to get a quality hair cut and that's exactly what he got and more, AL educated him on his new facial hair and grooming, he also cut his hair exactly how he wanted it, Max just showed him a pic and Al did an amazing job. If you cant stop in you can catch AL on GOOD DAY HOUSTON on Jan 18th and don't forget to ask Al about his Private member membership! This will be our new go-to shave and hair cut place from now on! Went here for a shave before my buddies wedding. He did an awesome job, and even threw in free beard balm afterwards. Only potential downside is that, if you're looking for a super classic place that only uses straight razors and scissors, this isn't it (he uses both when they make the most sense, at least). Definitely the best shave I've ever had. He did an excellent job blending imperfections in my beard, and used excellent conditioning products when he was done. I'm very pleased. read more

When I arrived on time for my appointment, they had signs up they were closed through the holidays. No call to let me know, left me completely without a haircut for new years and still have yet to return my voicemail I left on 12/30 since they have returned. read more

This is a great place to get a nice haircut and a really nice shave. Al provides a great user experience and you can tell how much effort he's put inside the shop as well. I understand certain people might have reservations when it comes to price, but sometimes quality and user experience trumps that. Also, I came in one time for an appointment but must have been double-booked. Although, I couldn't get it done that day, Al still went above and beyond to make amends. He's an honorable person who does a great job cutting hair and trimming beards. Even my wife could tell a difference from my other barber. Highly recommend this place is you're a guy that just wants a real nice haircut & shave and user experience. read more

This is long but worth the read. Several months ago I came across Supreme Shave while searching for a barber that could properly trim a beard. After reading the reviews I was convinced to give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. Al definitely knows what he's doing and I continued to go back. After my first beard trim he told me to write a review about the place if I liked it, so I did just that leaving a 5 star review. However, a few weeks ago I had to cancel an appointment due to an unforeseen incident at work. I called Al to cancel and while attempting to apologize for canceling he hung up on me. I have been going to Al for several months and this was my first time to cancel. I typically arrived early and was a generous tipper. I didn't think much of it as he is there by himself and figured he was busy. When I called this morning to schedule an appointment Al was extremely nice until he asked for my name. When I told him my name his demeanor changed and rudely stated "Yea, I see where you recently canceled an appointment." Once again I apologized and explained what happen. After explaining what happen Al told me there aren't any openings today and to call back in a few days and hung up on me. I noticed the business ratings drop since I first discovered it and decided to read some of the comments and guess what.... recent reviews just like this one. But wait folks because it gets better. After reading the reviews I decided to call him and nicely explain that I'm not the only one who feels they are being "blacklisted" but Al didn't seem to care. Al began yelling at me explaining that he has a business to run and bills to pay. I attempted to once again apologize, but he wasn't having it. Al continued yelling and actually began screaming profanities at me. During his rant he told me to go write a review, so here I am a second time.... About 10 min later AL calls me attempting to explain that he has bills to pay and that a cancellation is $20.00. I explained that instead of being mad and hanging up when I canceled he should have told me about the cancellation fee and that I would have gladly paid it. Al stated he didn't have that policy two weeks ago, but if I wanted to start over all I had to do was pay the $20 cancellation fee and I could schedule an appointment for today. Yea.... I was a little confused as well. At no point in time did he apologize for how he spoke to me. I explained that I would not be returning after how he talked to me and he simply said okay, and he tried. I was in complete shock by his blatant disrespect to a customer. I will be finding another barber. Here is the review you recommend I write.... Good luck To the mystery man M.A in Katy... First of all you sound like you were paid for that review lol. Your missing the point of the reviews regarding the cancellations. While we are all impressed by your standing appointment every two weeks, sometimes a thing called life happens. You make yourself out to be some busy business and family man who has never been late to anything in his life... You cant treat customers like trash and expect them to return.
