Take 30 seconds to at least look at customers concern. I was working close by and a customer told me they would be late so I stopped by Giftedhands as a walk in customer on a Thursday around 9am. The place was clean, the barbers all seemed very friendly. Wait was not to bad maybe 10-15min, felt that was pretty normal for a walk in. My barber was Jamal, second on the left upon entry. I'm not to good with all the haircut terminology but I asked for a low fade with it tapered at sideburns and in the back. Jamal did a good job and I felt he took his time to do the best he could. The problem was at the beginning of the cut he asked if I wanted the taper all around or just as I explained. I told him, just on the sideburns and back. Once he completed his work, he asked me to check it out to see what I thought. I simply said "ok, now I understand what you meant by all around". I was about the then say "it looks good" but he interrupted me by saying. "That's why i asked you twice". I let him know that I was a little longer on one side. He replied, "that's because your hair grows differently on each side, I gave you a good cut!" He then mentioned that he did a better job than the last place I went to.... possibly, but that doesn't mean you have to be rude and not accept my input on my haircut. He the said if I wanted any extra (with emphasis on "extra") he could do it. Implying any adjustments would be extra because his job was done.... I work a lot, from 6am-8pm all around houston area and unfortunately since most barbers open at 9am and close by 6-7pm it's hard for me to make it to the same place all the time. So that's why I use Yelp and see what's open when I have an opening like today. I could tell he was bothered and it wasn't that big of a deal. I have lots of other things to do rather than to argue if one side is a tad longer, how my hair grows or who is the worlds greatest barber. I just felt he was rude, since it was the first time a barber didn't fix an issue I had and that someone mentioned the growth patterns of my hair at age 32. Overall haircut was good I just felt he was rude towards the end and didn't accept my input. I still payed $25 plus my tip. Only advice is to take 30 seconds to at least look at customers concern. read more

Made a appointment with giftedhands for the first time ! Got to their location , call the person I made appointment with turns out she was stuck in traffic. I had told her I wish she had call me to let me know she was going to be late. Very unprofessional, I ended up just leaving with out getting my haircut!! read more

I booked this appointment on styleseat as the times available show up on the site. When you book an appointment then you expect for that to be the time you are seen and not 17-20 minutes later. This was my second time that Chris had done this and he obviously doesn't care as it show in his response. Hopefully y'all get some better customer service because this is definitely not the way to handle unhappy customers especially after you are the one who is in the wrong. If you can't do an appointment do book it or have it available. That is simple. Also if you know you take time then space your appointments out correctly. Horrible. People's time is precious so respect or atleast day you are not so that they can reschedule especially for a $27 kids cut! read more

But you can do walk ins as well, but know that you won't be getting your cut with David (only through booking an appointment with him). As for walk ins you can come and sign in to be called in next. This was the worst customer service and worst haircut I've received in my life. The owner called to extend an apology for a barber he has full knowledge does not have the appropriate qualifications. I go to gifted hands to get my cut every 3 weeks and am really getting sick and tired of the loud Rap music and pot odors flowing threw out the shop. I will probably not be going into that shop due to those to factors. There are other things i could complain about but choose not to at this time. This is my 1st barber shop since living here in Richmond Tx. Got my cut done by Grethel. Even though there is a small language barrier she still does her best to help me out to get what I wanted. Before starting she asked what style I wanted and I told her a fade. Then she asked if I wanted light, medium, or dark (I think she said). I asked for light. Then moving on to the top I asked her if I could get a #2 then she said it's short. So then she suggested a #4. So we started out with that. Then she asked me if I liked it then I told her if we can go with #3. So now I got my number down and I like my cut. First let me say the atmosphere in here is awesome everyone is really friendly they have entertainment while you wait and it's all very nice. BUT I did not like my stylist. She left several lines that where not faded in and Due to the fact that I had a wedding to go to in 2 hrs I legit went home and broke out my own clippers to go over her mistakes. That being said I was there for about 1.5 hrs with the wait and cut process and during that time I seen every other stylist in the shop cut several heads and all the cuts where very nice I honestly made a huge mistake allowing the Latin lady to do my haircut. I will return to this shop because it's awesome but I for sure will not go to the Latin lady (I have to call her that because I did not get the stylist name who cut my hair) also they are a bit on the pricey side but given the location it's understandable. read more

Brought my on in for a walk-in haircut. The wait was longer than expected, but it was fine because I noticed that they were actually taking time with the heads of hair that they were cutting and I can appreciate that. My son is 5. The barber was patient with him, as he wanted to keep checking the mirror to check himself out and see if he was done. He took his time with his hair cut and charged me $10 less than I was quoted over the phone, so I gave it back to him as a tip. I will definitely have him go back again. Bruh, I low key would have thrown hands with un-gifted hands if my barber wasn't a female! Ive had 2 people cut my hair my whole life one being in Michigan and the other here in Houston. I just got one of the best cuts I've ever had at this joint. Not kidding. So I don't leave reviews very often but I definitely want to give a shout out to Gifted Hands. Just went there for the first time and I'll definitely be going back. Stanley did a killer job on my fade and he fixed the bad haircut I walked in with (got the bad haircut at another place I won't mention)... But suffice to say that when I walked in it looked like I'd taken one too many shots and tried to cut my own hair with garden shears, but Stanley fixed it so that it looks great now.
