Supreme Pizza has the best pizza I've ever eaten in my entire life! Their grinders are amazing and they pack them with whatever you order so you get nice and full. My personal favorite is their eggplant parmesan grinder. Whether you're a meat eater, a vegetarian, or even a vegan(just order it without cheese), it's the perfect grinder! Cooked well and it tastes delicious. The family who owns and operates the restaurant are amazing and are always loving, kind, and extremely friendly. Whenever I'm in town I try different things. Today's new item for me was a bacon grinder. My sister raves about them specifically from this location so why not give it a try. The greeting at the door was great; very friendly and easy going! Hi energy from those in the back preparing orders! I noticed the gentleman at the register knew practically everyone that walked in and their order. This is the family friendly environment that I miss back west. Maybe because I did not grow up there I don't feel the genuine sincerity that I do here on the east coast when someone speaks or asks how you're doing. For whatever reason I felt appreciated when I ordered. Small bacon grinder (hero/sub/sandwich on a roll) light mayo, lettuce, tomato, toasted! I was told not to order extra anything because it will be enough. It was! It was a small but I could barely finish half of it. Packed with meat and finely shredded lettuce...great! I prayed the bacon would not be crunchy (bcuz who likes dry crunchy bacon) and it was NOT! I knew then if I didn't enjoy this grinder then something was seriously wrong...with me! I went to Supreme Pizza in Waterford CT, unfortunately my experience was disappointing. I ordered a small turkey club with light mayo and oil and vinegar, but the oil and vinegar were never added to my sandwich. While it is clear that they take care of their regular customers, they also need to pay closer attention to and accommodate new customers as well. This is probably the best pizza in town, it's well constructed, great ingredients- especially the sauce. I particularly like that they put the sausage and onions under the cheese so that it stays nice and moist as well as bringing all the flavors together. I haven't seen any comments on the salads, they are great and again have quality fresh ingredients. The atmosphere here is super friendly, but these guys are operationally super efficient. I was contemplating an eggplant grinder as I'm very particular about eggplant. Being Italian, we like it a certain way. Not Greeky, meaning there's too much oregano and no sauce. I took a chance and ordered a small. He told me it would take about 15 mins. Just by saying that, I knew it might be good. OMG. It was 1/4" thick, not mushy and overcooked, flavorful and I could actually taste the eggplant on the cheesy crusty bread. The small was HUGE with half saved for tomorrow's lunch. I have had the Chicken Cutlet & the Tuna sub now & BOTH were FANTASTIC! Chicken cutlet was a really generous pieces of white meat chicken breast lightly breaded & fried. The tuna salad with provolone is fresh also. The BREAD they use for their grinders is pillowy soft but has a bit of a slight chew that holds up to oil & vinegar or any vinaigrette. I think of myself as a pretty open minded person. When debating with friends about sports, politics, current events- I always try to respect everyone else's opinions, allow myself to possibly have my mind changed, or agree to disagree sometimes. That being said- there is one debate where I will not give an inch, will not back down, will not be dissuaded or told I am wrong: Supreme has the best grinders- full stop. Every aspect of every grinder I've ever had from them (that number is probably nearing four digits, since I've been coming here since the early 90's) has been flawless. The fresh bread, the meat, the cheese, the crisp shredded lettuce- all comes together to form THE perfect grinder, every single time. I can't think of a single other restaurant where I've never thought, "Eh, not their best." A supreme grinder will hit the spot day in and day out. The grinders aren't the only place Supreme shines though- the pizza is out of this world. Living in southeastern Connecticut, I'm well aware that I'm spoiled when it comes to pizza. Within a stones throw, there are a half dozen excellent options. When I get that craving, though, Supreme is always my top choice. As good as the meals are, half the fun is going to pick it up. Tim, Nick, and the rest of the staff create a friendly, fun, and vibrant atmosphere where something as simple as picking up lunch makes you feel like you're visiting family. My husband got the chicken cutlet and it was ok. The seating is terrible. Maybe 3 tables total, when the door opens all you feel is the draft blowing on you. I've only ever had 2 items from this Waterford, Connecticut icon and it's only because im a fool who just discovered this place after a lifetime of driving past it. Im picky about my "regular grinder". A cooked salami submarine sandwich with typical veggies. It's easy to make and just as easy to mess up. You need that right combination of bread and ingredients. Well they nail both! Sitting at the counter (and I take my time eating), I get to watch as they make every single sandwich order that comes in, watch as they put food into the ovens and do everything! Now, I never order the meatball sub. Yes I call a regular grinder a grinder and a meatball sub a meatball sub. But when they made it, it looked so good I had to get it the next time and it did not disappoint. Their red sauce is sweet, I guess you'd have to say which I like! Some red sauce is more tart. I don't know of the red sauce is the same for the meatball sub as it is for the pastas but I wouldn't complain. They sell pizzas, grinders, and a few salads and pastas. They have plenty of free parking. The staff has a wonderful camaraderie and they make me laugh and that's not always easy trust me. Sometimes simple is good. And this place is great! I just can't wait until the next time I come back to try something else. Apparently their tuna is legendary. It's $8.50 for a large. I saw them make a hamburger grinder for someone else. A lot of the locals in New London recommend traveling down the road to Supreme Pizza. So I took a prospective client so the company would pay for our luncheon on the company expense report. It is located just outside of New London in neighboring Waterford and not to difficult to find. This is Greek style pizza which is a totally new cuisine experience for me. It is a small family run restaurant and after looking through the menu I saw something I had never seen before - Moussaka Pizza! Having made Moussaka from scratch I was intrigued to see what their interpretation on a pizza was all about. My prospective client approved of my curiosity and we split a medium pizza. It appeared with thin slices of artichoke heart on a hearty base of meat (lamb?) topped with Feta cheese. Very different and very good. The two of us could not finish it and it tasted even better the next day for lunch reheated in the office microwave. Found it unusual they had me pay after we had eaten on the honor system. Locals know the pizza tastes like it's from Big Y. I didn't see slice prices listed and they charged me $8.50 for 2 slices of pepperoni. The 14 inch pepperoni used to be $9.99. I asked for an upgrade to the small pizza and the guy got disrespectful with me and said no I already ordered the slices and that's what I'm getting. He told me I talked too much and he couldn't deal with this on a Saturday and I needed to leave. Then don't own a restaurant if you can't deal with it! Instead of charging me more and making a sale he gave me my money back. Now your stuck with 2 slices of Big Y pizza nobody else wants. A restaurant that had one customer when I came in and one car in the parking lot an hour later when I drove by shouldn't be turning away paying customers during a pandemic. You're far better off getting a refrigerated pizza from Aldi's for $5 near by. Unfortunately the other reviewer sadly must not be aware that there are different styles of pizza out there other than New Haven style pizza. Supreme Pizza makes greek-style pizza which is popular in areas of New England. Greek-style pizza, not to be confused with a pizza with Greek toppings, is cooked in pans as opposed to directly on the bricks of an oven (like Italian-style pizza). This process makes the crust thick and chewy. For me, Supreme is the best greek-style pizza that I've had while living in New England (both in CT and in Boston). All the ingredients taste extremely fresh and the pizza is loaded with sauce and toppings. When I was living out on the west coast for a year I missed this pizza maybe more than any other food from back home. In addition to the pizza the grinders are fantastic as well. The bread comes fresh daily from a local bakery and just like the pizza all the ingredients are fresh and high quality. The tuna grinder is worth the trip there alone. Supreme is family owned, everyone there is incredibly friendly, and it's just a great place. We're lucking in this area of CT to be able to have easy access to New Haven, Italian, and Greek-style pizza ... if you've never had Greek-style definitely give them a shot. read more

Went with my family here yesterday for a Bday lunch. My mom has been raving about this place for years so I HAD to give them a try. We all got grinders and split a large pizza. Service was wonderful. The pizza was PERFECT!! Greek style, loaded with meats and cheese. Best pizza I've found in my area (moved to Groton about a year ago). I would definitely make the short drive to come to this place!! It's a small joint with not much seating and a basic pizza, grinder and pasta menu. I wish they had appetizers but it really didn't matter once we got our delicious food. Grinders were perfectly toasted on Vocatura's Bakery fresh rolls. I couldn't believe it took so long for me to visit this little gem! I have my solid 3 pizza places I have visited for 20+ years and this one finally makes my list of favorites. Will be back VERY soon!! read more

Supreme Pizza is simply an institution in the Waterford area. It is the type of place where the staff knows the customers and everyone that goes there is treated like they are family. They have a variety of delicious items including their grinders, pizza, and salads. My personal favorites are the tuna grinder (they are well known for it) and the crispy chicken salad. If you get any of their salads make sure to get the house creamy garlic dressing its amazing and will ward off vampires for months, its chock full of minced garlic. The grinders are on super soft fresh baked grinder rolls and they are all made to order. I mostly order takeout from here while I'm at work so I can't really review the sit down portion of service. But I have witnessed the wait staff being very attentive to diners and they are quick to check on how diners are doing. Supreme is just a great place to grab food from. read more

Great local spot for pizza and grinders. The pizza is very good, they have 3 sizes and you can get an 18" large cheese for under $15. The grinders are always good and very generous.
