But that's the only reason why I'm giving only 4 stars. Rest is all good. The vegetables are the cheapest you will find! And they're fresh too. I came in today for the first time on a Saturday and it's packed with people. But because of how spacious the place is, it doesn't feel suffocating and I didn't want to tackle and elbow people. The other bonus is that the seafood market smell doesn't fill the space, making it pungent for my friend's sensitive nose In Flushing, having parking space is hands down the best thing ever... so that was my Dad's favorite part. And today there's a promotion, if you spend $300 they'll give you a box of moon cakes!! Costco has food and places to sit and eat while BJ's has only a takeout Dunkin' Donuts. Costco has a full service optical department that accepts health insurance. BJ's has a small optical department that does not accept health insurance. On the plus side for BJ's which is closer to me, I like that there are signs that tell you what items are in a particular aisle. Also, the lines at BJ's tend to be shorter (although on this particular visit, my checkout line was manned my the slowest cashier I've ever experienced at either wholesale club). All in all, both rate 3 1/2 stars, both have advantages and disadvantages, both are fun to visit, but I think I would give Costco a very slight edge.

As soon as you walk in hey have a very tiny produce area with mostly Hispanic preferred items. Sadly it is not my culture, so attempting to describe them will not do it the proper justice! This store really does an amazing job catering to its local clientele which is mostly Hispanic. I usually come here for the ice, because its usually 2 for $4, compared to $4 each at the convenience store. I also get necessities like butter and similar things for lodge. I used to get lettuce and tomatoes, but sadly no one ever ate them... All the veggies that I recognize and have purchased were always fresh! I have also purchased steaks and ground beef here in the past as well. They were always fresh and delicious! Never had any issues with any of them! If you are looking for a super specific obscure flavor of potato chip, go to ShopRite a few blocks away, this place has just a bit over the basics! They have several hot and cold food items to choose from, as well as empanadas and many types of pan (bread). We opted for the chopped cheese sandwich (you can choose between hero or roll; we got the hero because we were starving) & a can of coconut soda. The price was ~9.50$ for both, which is a GREAT deal, considering NYC is a pretty expensive place to get a decent meal. The sandwich was *chef's kiss* and I will be thinking of it for many, many years to come. Seriously. Perfectly grilled bread, fresh toppings, thinly grilled onions and just the right amount of mayo and ketchup, all wrapped up neatly and sweetly into one delicious and not-at-all-sloppy-even-though-it-looks-like-it-would-be sandwich. YUM. It's also a convenience store so they have beer, soda, food items, coffee, mouthwash, laundry soap, candy, chips etc so in case you forgot something or need to satisfy your junk food craving, this place has you covered.
