Started coming here since May 2023, had to change barbers because my old barber was in San Jose, so it was too far since we now live in SSF. I've been getting a haircut with Mike since I started coming here. Always satisfied with my haircut. Super easy booking system using booksy and you get reminded of your appointment. Mike used to cut my hair for a minute but then I saw how others close to me get their cuts and they were far cleaner. So I came to the realization Mike's fades and combover aint all that. I like a short combover with no hard part. Pretty simple and it literally has no transition when he does mine. Literally, every single time. I went to him for about 2 years. My last appointment was 3 years ago, and that is when I was 5 minutes late and I texted him letting him know I was going to be late and was apologetic. When I got there, extremely rude and was like, you can't be doing that man. Keep in mind... this is my first time late in 2 years of being his customer. After the cut, same butchered combover fade. Mike did give decent haircuts but recently I have decided to take my business elsewhere due to some bad customer communication and an argument in his establishment in front of another customer. Coming from a former business owner myself, Mike needs to take some business management or customer service courses. I had been going to Mike for about 2 years usually booking through booksy. I wanted to make an appointment the day before and saw that he was COMPLETELY open the next day, like literally he had openings back to back to back most of the day (which happens quite often, this guy does not seem that busy EVER). So I'm driving the next day for the appointment, I hit some bad traffic on the way to the appointment due to an accident on the road. I came in and he said that it was too late for him to honor the appointment. I asked if he had any other openings, which I clearly saw on the app the day before. He said no "he's booked all week" Keep in mind his attitude during this interaction was not that cool, he had attitude. I leave and get in my car and check the app for another appointment, dude does not have that many appointments for the week. Anyway I notice that the app said that I may have been charged for the haircut so I come back 30 minutes later and this dude is sitting on the couch on his phone and I ask him, "I see I got charged on the app. whats that all about" will I be able to use that towards my next haircut, and he says "yeah your cool" and gives me a dap/pound. So a few weeks pass and I come in for my haircut. He wraps up and I say thanks man and try to walk out since he said we were cool from him already charging me for "No service" last time. He starts arguing with me and saying you gotta pay, and I was like naw dude I ain't paying double for one haircut, you said we were cool the last time. (especially when you clearly had time to cut me last time). He is literally getting into it with me in front of another customer. So a couple things, I'll break down some knowledge to this young buck: If you change your policy on the app you should send out an email to your regular clients to update them on the policy change with an apologetic tone and message explaining the reasoning and concise description of the change. You want to ease the blow that they might be charged if they are late since this policy change might already dissway customers from coming back. That was your first mistake. Second, Don't ever argue with a customer in front of your other patrons. Take the dispute outside and come to a consensus on where the drop in communication was, what went wrong and how we can fix the matter. This was completely unprofessional. Additionally this is not the first time he has argued with a customer in my presence, he argued with a Mother and her son when she complained to Mike about how he got an infection from his clipper blades based off what his doctor said. He literally almost cussed this poor mother out. This happened when I was in his chair about 4 months earlier. Lastly his barber shop is dead, like there are no other barbers that work there and the vibe is just sleepy, dude barely talks to you, and we know nothing about each other after 2 years of going there, most the shit he talks about is vaccine conspiracy or politics, he doesn't care about you. It just seems like no one wants to work with him because of his attitude, he's always mean mugging. I recommend you go to TRADITIONS barber lounge in the mission. Its a REAL barber shop with mad cool RESPECTFUL people and a VIBE, every time I come in my barber remembers me, what I do and what I'm all about. I would gladly pay a no show fee to get my hair cut at Traditions. They also have barber battles every few months so you know its a breeding ground for talent. read more

My experience here was bittersweet. The starts represent my personal experience but the haircut was 4.5. I arrived 10 mins late to the appointment because of parking and got lost at first. The barber seem pretty upset about it. The first think he said when I arrived was that I was 10 mins late with a defiant tone. I explained why I was late. Unfortunately, I did not feel welcomed anymore. I offered to pay and leave but the barber said that he would cut my hair. I did not feel like arguing because I was just tired; but I feel I was treated poorly as a new customer. I am used to have some flexibility during my appointment because they are usually one hour. After checking out a few barbershops after my old barber moved away to a different shop, I think I've found a new permanent shop! I found Supreme Clientele on Yelp and after reading a few reviews and looking at a few pictures of different cuts I booked an appointment with Mike. My first experience was great. The vibe of the shop is very chill, the music selection is great and kept at a good audio level so that you can have a conversation and everyone is welcoming, engaging and professional. I've had some decent haircuts in the past, but Mike is by far the most talented barber to cut my hair. He listened to exactly what I wanted and knew exactly how to make it look great. Not only that, he's extremely efficient. Most barbers I've gone to in the past that have given me similar haircuts have taken AT LEAST an hour, sometimes longer. Mike always sees me right at my appointment time and has me in and out of the shop within 40-45min. Since that first experience I've been to the shop about 4 times now and every time has been as good, if not better, than that first experience. It's apparent that Mike has a passion for cutting hair and I appreciate his professionalism and attention to detail. Every time i asked other barbers before for a low fade, I always left the shop with either a high fade or a taper. But with Mike, cuts are always right. Definitely would recommend to anyone. Look, fact is, Mike cuts hair well, so I'm leaving a fair review. But that's not my gripe. He does not care about his customers. I've been going to Mike for over a year now. Maybe that's not a super long time in the barbering world, but I liked the product and the price wasn't too exorbitant for what is really just a no frills barber shop. I would have continued to go there until today, when I had an appointment booked for noon, but wasn't feeling well when I woke up. Now, when you book with him, at least through the Booksy app, he requires that you put a hold on your card so that if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, he retains the cost of the service. Okay, I get it. I've even talked with him about that before. You have to protect yourself from last minute cancellations. So I texted him to let him know I wasn't feeling well, but that I did not want to lose my money by canceling, thus giving him the opportunity to let me know whether I should show up or not. He later replies: "Hey thanks for headup. Unfortunately as per my policy it's specifically stated that by excepting the confirmation that you respect my business rules and policy. I hope you understand that." So I'm like, no, I'm going to show up so I'm not losing money. I was in the car driving to the appointment when he texted back: "Bro if your sick I don't want you to come," followed by informing me he already canceled the appointment. So we went back and forth a while about his policy, and then he texts me this nugget: "So you think you can just not show up and that's ok. Or because you didn't get serviced you don't have to pay. Because you text me in advance that its good? I don't think you read the policy because ITS NOT A DEPOSIT! You don't give me the option to do anything. I give the client the option. I think you miss the entire point of businesses having policy." I never canceled the appointment. I was on my way to the appointment. He told me he did not want me to come. Again. I understand the purpose for the policy, but c'mon! I'm a regular client who's spent a good deal of money there and you can't find a damn exception to your policy? Like being SICK!? In the end, the policy is only going to backfire on Mike because if I was ever to return (sadly, I'm not), and I was feeling sick, I'd show up regardless and possibly expose him to whatever I have. Not out of spite, but because I'm going to get the product I'm paying for. So Mike, appreciate the cuts man, but it's a no for me cause you care more about protecting yourself from the occasional canceled appointment than maintaining/building your customer base. read more

Mike gets his ego hurt really easily... If he messes up your cut he starts to blame you for not communicating properly and it's extremely childish. The whole time I was sitting in his chair he made me feel bad for his mistakes. I drove close to 50 minutes to get my hair cut here. What a waste of time, gas and money. Before we start, I show him pictures for reference and he immediately takes out his phone to show me something "better". I tell him that's kinda what I want but go on to tell him exactly what I'm looking for. He seemed to get what I'm saying... He then leaves me with an uneven fade on my left side and now I have to spend even more money to fix what he should have been able to do properly. He didn't even finish my hair cut all the way through, he left one side of my head with more hair than the other!!! After he messed up the right side, I kept repeating that I would like both sides to be symmetrical but for some reason he was having trouble with that request?? At one point I said "I don't know how you can fix this, you know better than me" and he defensively responded with "I don't know either!".... WTF. As someone who claims to be a licensed barber shouldn't you be the one who does know what to do!?! I should have said "well damn I would hope you do" but I was trying to maintain my cool and be nice. It was an excruciating 40 minutes and I shouldn't have tipped him for being so condescending, rude, and childish, but I did. He is not it. I saw better reviews for Victoria so I'd give her a chance. Stay away. Worst place. Especially the owner Mike has the worst attitude. I drive 50 mins to this place since I like Mikes work. Mike knows this. Last to last time he made me wait 10 mins as he was still finishing up his previous client. He made me wait multiple times. I never complained. Most recently I was late by 8 mins. He closed the door on my face. I thought he locked the door maybe because he wants to go to bathroom but he used his dirty trick to apply "no show" fees. I waited for 10 more mins outside and called him to open the door and he started yelling at me. WTF. He started complaining that I was 15 mins late which isn't true. Worst place. Stay away. One of the better cuts I've received in the bay area and Mike is a solid dude on top of that. I really enjoyed our conversation and he nailed the look I wanted on the first take, which isn't always the easiest. I've been getting my hair cut by Victoria for over 2 years now. Even before she was in this shop! I've gone thru a couple of barbers and stayed with Victoria because I'm very particular about my hair cuts and she never forgets the little details that I'm picky about! I found Mike through yelp and found out that he allows clients to book appointments through and app called booksy and also allows card payments. The times have changed and no need to text or call your barber, show up and the barber is double booked or running behind or scrambling to find an atm if you forgot to get cash beforehand. I went to a few different barber shops in the area before finding Supreme Clientele/ Mike and it was such a pain to text to set up an appointment.
