Two days ago on my way to work, my 2014 Accord broke down. Looking underneath, I could see the driver's side CV axle shaft was broken, so I had it towed to my go-to place...Supreme Auto. Larry stated that he probably would not be able to get repaired that day and would that be OK with me. I said sure. Well, at about 3 in the afternoon he called to inform me that it was fixed and ready for pickup. Now, I saw quotes for the high $600's to near $900...my bill was $450! This is just my most recent example of what Supreme Auto has meant to me over the 35 or so years I have been a customer. Isn't that what everyone wants from an auto repair service and mechanic? Quality work, no surprises, fair prices, and above all, peace of mind I would say. Well, Larry and his team at Supreme have it in spades!! Their website home page says: "We take great pride in providing you with the best customer service around. We are honest, dependable and friendly. Our customers are our #1 priority and [we] strive to make each and every customer happy!". That is not just some sound-good, feel-good motto. That is what Larry and his team more than live up to...each and every day! He will make sure that you understand exactly what needs to be done to get you back on the road and running without doing other nice, but not necessary work just to create revenue. A hard-working, honest, old-school, and genuine person who knows his stuff. Go there...you will not be disappointed. Note: I noticed a 1-star reviewer said: "Disrespectful and incompetent. Unable to fix very basic issues." Not having any possible understanding of what the circumstances were with that review(er), I can only say that it stands completely opposed to what I and almost all others have experienced. It can be difficult to trust shops from unpleasant experiences in the past, but after finding Supreme Auto, we wouldn't want to bring our vehicles to anyone else. Not only does it have a great reputation for service, they host a Car Show to benefit America's Vet Dogs each year in which the donations are given to this charity. The charity raises service dogs for veterans and first responders with PTSD. They give back to the community and hold the charity close to their heart. Such a wonderful family and shop. For an untethered female, finding a reliable and trustworthy car mechanic is a dubious situation. In terms of 'fun' factor, it's up there with remodeling your only bathroom or cutting your own bangs. It's probably not going to end well. When I first moved to CT, I somehow avoided the task because I was given a company car to drive. After years of having that cushy arrangement, I found myself in treacherous territory. I approached the task the same way I had approached looking for a good dentist, hairdresser and home contractor - by word of mouth - except that finding a car mechanic proved to be a bit more of a challenge. Most folks tended to use car dealerships for car maintenance, and they reported hit 'n miss experiences. Around 2010, I asked a friend (thank you, Tammy!) where she took her car in for service. Without hesitation she recommended "Larry" at Supreme Auto Service. She went on and on (and on) about Larry at Supreme Auto that I should have become suspicious - except, I knew Tammy - and Tammy is not the suspicious type. ;) Now, if you knew Tammy - and you obviously don't, but - you'd know that she is also not the kind of person who gets excited about car maintenance. I was surprised she even knew of a mechanic; I figured she would have a good lead on a mechanic by way of her husband. So that's how I discovered Supreme Auto in 2010, and I haven't looked back since. I have an aging 2003 Dodge Durango that still drives like a dream, due mostly to Larry's care and competence. If there is anything I need to have repaired or checked on my car, Larry is my go-to guy. Supreme Auto Service will take appointments by phone [ask for Larry who is the owner; I just made an appointment (about 30 minutes ago), which is what reminded me to write this review.] As far as the shop goes, there is a relatively comfortable waiting area (see photo) which is decorated in retro-style. There is a television in the waiting area with plenty of chairs, and even a self-serve coffeemaker. Best of all, there is a clean (yes, clean!) restroom for customers to use. I tend to schedule appointments early in the morning (before work) or mid-afternoon on days when I can take the afternoon off from work. I don't think they are open on weekends, nor are they open after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. Their excellent service and regular customers allow them to keep those hours. Larry, the owner, goes to Aruba every year for his yearly vacation (his regular customers know this well) -- so avoid booking in August. On cost, I spend more on my hair than I do for my oil changes and tune-ups at Supreme Auto. In other words, the cost is very fair and reasonable. I know that I pay a bargain for peace of mind that, no one is taking advantage of me (and my car) - and that my car is being properly maintained for as long as I own it. read more

Larry and Bryan are about as creative, resourceful and thoughtful as you can get. I've had 2001 Toyota Camry that I have LOVED for some years now, and the guys had just replaced a lot of the wear and tear items for me. Well, wouldn't you know it, a few days later I was involved in an accident. The damage to the front end/hood/radiator was extensive. The body shops were all going to be too expensive, so I had planned on taking her to the junkyard and saying goodbye. That's when Larry called me and asked if he could 'hang onto it for awhile'... he said he'd keep his eyes open, and stay in touch. A short time later, he called and said he was able to secure ALL the parts and materials needed to fix my car (from another car he found, same make/model/color)!! Larry and Bryan did all the work themselves and saved me a boatload of money in the process. Our family has been using Supreme Auto for 37+ years. Their reputation stands on it's own. I've been taking my cars to Supreme Auto for about 30 years and they are very reliable and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable. If any additional work is required that exceeds what was originally expected, they always call me to explain, and get my approval first. They have even gone to bat for me with car manufacturers and dealerships if repairs are necessary that they feel should be covered under warranty. It is amazing to find someone with so much knowledge, and he is honest, trustworthy and honorable (believe me I found other places that tried to sell me unneeded stuff).
