Mr. Reilly diagnosed the problem as a leaky housing, which costs almost as much as a new washer. He advised against repairing it. While he was here I asked him to replace the belt on my clothes washer. It wasn't spinning up to speed like it should. On examination, the old belt was starting to fail at the splice, so it was replaced. Now my clothes dry in half the time. Service was excellent. Calls were answered. Questions were answered. Arrival was on time as promised.

I prefer to fix things myself, but when I'm not able to fix something I do ask for professional help. I had a Whirlpool Estate washer that I loved and wanted to keep running - and Streeter helped with that right up to the end, when a part broke that required taking pretty much the whole thing apart. Casey was completely upfront and said it wasn't worth the time/expense it would take to take everything apart because there were no guarantees it would work when it was put back together. So I decided to give taking it all apart a shot myself (after running it past Casey and getting his advice), and Casey was not wrong. I invested many hours in trying to get that machine apart... 30+ years of use had fused the inner basket onto the machine, it took several nights of penetrating oil application and a large mallet and it finally broke free. It was rewarding when I finally got everything apart, only to find that there was another part that was rusted and holding on by threads that was no longer available. So sadly I had to throw in the towel and get a new machine - I asked Casey's opinion on the machine's I was considering and he was a big help with that as well. I would (and have) recommended Streeter Appliance Repair to anyone in need of appliance repair (except not refrigerators - they don't service those). I think it's worth mentioning that my co-worker recommended Streeter to me, and we both recommended Streeter to another co-worker. I don't trust many contractors because I've been burned in the past - but Streeter Appliance repair is definitely a contractor you can trust.

The appliance department in Best Buy looks like someone went through and shoved everything into a pile. I saved the best store till last. The dishwasher I wanted was on display in the front of the store. The knowledgeable salesperson knew the price and answered my questions.
