Ive had to have several units at Abbys (long story) & Abbys was great until ...... THEY WERE BOUGHT OUT BY THE EVIL, GREEDY, UBER CAPITALISTS CALLED "STORAGE PRO" SOMETIME IN 2021. The FORCED insurance really p*s**d me off plus they tacked on all kinds of other pointless fees AND then ... raised the rent by almost $20.00! That was just the 1st of MANY more excessive raises to come! I think my rent has been raised 5 times in just 2 or 3 years. Greedy Storage Pro just raised it again about 4 months ago. In 2020 I was paying a reasonable $134/month. NOW I'M PAYING $215/MONTH WITH NO PERKS! I'm on a tiny fixed income as it is, & to my horror in this Post COVID Greed Era I can no longer pay all my bills nor make ends meet. The unnecessary c*** pulled by Storage Pro is NOT helping!! My stay at Abbys was never meant to be permanent - but you know what they say about "making plans." I've tried to get a smaller unit at ABBYS for years. Now I want to get the h*** out of Storage Pro completely! Whats holding me back: 1. I suddenly got VERY sick in 2021 (cancer) & am now bedridden 80% of the time. So, I cant go there & start condensing things so I can move into a smaller unit at a more REASONABLY PRICED facility closer to where I live. 2. Im on a tiny fixed income & now have NO disposable income. So, I have no money to pay movers. I guess I'll be stuck at that awful, greedy Storage Pro with 4 rent raises per year for the remainder of my life! They are just bleeding me dry & sucking the life right out of me! Rock & a hard place indeed! The only way I'll get out of Storage Prop is if a miracle happens! And with the way things have been going since 2017 . That's not likely! ~~ What really infuriates me is that Storage Pro is a NATIONAL CHAIN & they treat ALL of their customers like this. My recommendation: STAY CLEAR OF ABBYS/STORAGE PRO & THEIR SISTER FACILITY ON THEATRE DRIVE IN PASO! There are plenty of nice, clean, secure facilities - with both indoor & outdoor units - to chose from in SLO County.

So, first night, we had to stay in a hotel in order to park our trailer somewhere. Spent most of Friday evening and Saturday morning calling places. Talked to Kathy at the front desk and she was able to find the last available spot that would work for our size trailer! And right here in SLO! We really thought we were going to have to drive an hour to store it. Anyway, Kathy was amazing-explained the contract throughly, I understood how my billing would be handled, showed me how to use my code to open the gate, and even shared where the bathroom was! What storage unit has a bathroom?! We even got interrupted by a customer moving their stuff out (moving away) and as they left, they mentioned to Kathy how well they've been treated and if they come back, they will definitely come back to Mission. That sealed the deal for me. We are so appreciative that we came across Kathy and Mission! Highly recommend! 5 stars all the way!

Their customer service is unmatched. Every single person I've interacted with has been kind, sympathetic, professional, and genuinely caring. There is nothing corporate, cold, or transactional about this place. It feels like a true hometown, family-run business run by good people who actually care about their customers as human beings. I was diagnosed with cancer in August, and during one of the most overwhelming and stressful periods of my life, they went above and beyond with compassion, understanding, and patience. They made what could have been an incredibly stressful situation feel manageable -- something I will never forget. Their empathy and consideration genuinely made my life easier at a time when I needed it most. The difference between Broad Street Storage and other storage companies is night and day. I've dealt with some truly awful, dehumanizing experiences at large corporate storage chains -- including StorQuest -- where I was treated with zero compassion or basic decency. Broad Street Storage is the exact opposite of that. They set a standard that is so far above the usual low bar in this industry that it's almost unbelievable. I've also been able to store things that I needed to store temporarily until I got back the use of my garage These spaces are clean and dry and well lit and well drained and also it's in a very nice area in San Luis up overlooking the airport that has a nice fresh breeze coming by I have had storage units in two of the other large complexes in San Luis, but Buckly Springs is just a cut above the others and the staff is always friendly always helpful and they very often have home baked cookies available in the office The other thing I really appreciate is that they beautifully decorate the outside of the storage space for Christmas so the colorful lights are a wonderful way to greet your storage unit

This family member had a unit in Los Osos that was charging well over twice as much for the same size unit! We luckily got a unit on the second floor, so the door to the unit is on the inside, and there's a service elevator to handle all the heavy lifting. This makes the moving and sorting much nicer than having to be out in the sun/wind/rain. Conveniently located, easy access, just a really wonderful experience! I have my own storage unit where I live in Arroyo Grande, but if I lived in Atascadero, I wouldn't hesitate to get a unit there! Thanks!
