Best authentic food in Indy, would recommend eating at this location with family and friends

A Co-worker told me about this little Mexican restaurant located inside a grocery on 82nd street by Le Peep and behind Starbucks. They have some limited seating, butt they are mainly carry out. The hAve menu in a Spanish and some English but the lady's behind counter Wii's heel you if needed (yes I needed some help) I have now gone twice aardvark I have been pleased both times. I have posted photos of meetups and food. Thom hey are not very expensive. I am told they are authentic dishes. I like to try several al things and I have. Let's start with my favorites. Steak tacos were excellent and a very nice size and great flavor. I will tell you the salsas are HOT, but the flavor of the red was wonderful. Pork tamales were very good and the best I have had in Indy. I am not the only ooze that lives them because they were sold out on 2nd visit. A friend has tried twice to get them and sold out both times. They were so o good i regretted ordering only 2. The burritos are huge aNd packed full, my wife got 2 meals out of 1. I have also ordered the pork rice and beans. The pot rly was vvery good and a nice portion, but I did have to remove several bones. The place is clean, reasonably priced and staff is very friendly and helpful.

Oh man! Talk about real Mexican! This Hispanic specific supermarket, like many other grocery stores, has it's own fresh food court (more like a taco stand inside than a food court.) It's great! I did some grocery shopping and picked up fresh hot lunch all in one spot. You need to know the basic food related Spanish words though. If you don't you might have a hard time finding someone that knows English really well. All potential barriers aside this is one of the best kinds of markets. Your groceries are fresh, your herbs and spices are fresh, and your lunch or dinner is made hot while you shop!

I got a Yelp suggestion to try this place and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered al pastor and asada tacos to go and they were pretty good. The meat was flavorful and the tortillas were good. The meat did have a sort of gritty texture to it that I'm not used to in tacos, but it didn't detract from the flavor too much. The menu has the prices of these two tacos covered up, so that made ordering a little odd but i paid about $9 for three tacos and a bottle of water. The red and green salsas that come with the tacos were okay, not the best I've had. If you want extra salsas they're 25 cents each. This also come with limes and cilantro and onion. Service was good, but took a while for the cashier to come to the counter and take my order. I'd go here for some tacos on the north side, but I'll be on the look out for better in this area.

When I'm craving Mexican food, I always go here. Super fresh and they have meats here that other Mexican restaurants don't have. I love it!

I got the Langostino Quesadilla that I loved! It was a really big quesadilla too. We ordered agua frescas tonight, but their bar menu is huge and I definitely want to be back for margaritas on their patio. This is prime location for patio season. All our service was very professional and fast. Bonus perk there is a free parking garage attached.... Makes going out to eat downtown way less stressful!

Overall a chill environment and ith a nice front patio/ sidewalk seating area. We enjoyed the chips n salsa varieties, surprisingly the darker salsa wasn't spicier just a different flavor. Orde re d the chicken burrito which was gigantic easily enough for 2 to share. Very well made fresh ingredients, covered in sauces and cheesy. And we all tried different margaritas, mine was a strawberry fruity take on a margarita, good and garnished nicely. Rated fresh and flavorful, not very strong and a bit pricey. Especially with some being $100+ for a drink was wild. Overall nice place, nice environment, wasn't busy and tasted good but is priced higher than most Mexican restaurants in the city.

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.

I'm pretty sure the owner was the one who waited on us. He was friendly and so patient while we decided what to order. I had the chicken chipotle tacos since I remembered them being so good last time but I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
