The second time out it started running on one cylinder and since I was miles away on lake Jackson and thought it would be minor I took it to my mechanic there. $450 later it turned out the fuel pump (new) had been improperly installed causing part of the gasket to come apart and damage the pump etc. When I called the Savages I was told the only warranty was for the block (although I was told otherwIse). If you get any guarantee from these guys get it in writing. After I sent a copy of my bill to them they did not even call my mechanic to find out what they did wrong!

In fact, to make it more fun they would quiz each other on the particular part, where it was at in the store and who could find it the quickest. I was amazed at how knowledgeable they were on my engine. So in a matter of minutes I had everything I needed and was checked out and on my way. They even gave me some valuable advice and tips on how to install and complete the job. My only regret was, I was in and out so quickly I was barely able to to get any photos. Just a fantastic experience. It's now my one and only goto marine store.
