They charged me to replace the water heater, offered no apology for their bad advice and even replaced the failed heater with the exact same model that failed after only 4 years. Now I'm left with a ruined floor and a water heater that may fail again before it should and no way to prevent it from ruining a repaired floor. Within two hours the furnace was up and running. Unfortunately, the carbon monoxide levels on my 27 year old furnace were too high. I am able to get a service call tomorrow for a replacement. Not the best of news, but I'm glad I'll have heat since the nighttime temps are going to be below freezing the next couple of days.
