Jerry Darnell allowed them to watch as worked on a current project while explaining the process. A true craftsman and teacher of a what seems to be a lost art. Just remember that his showroom is adjacent to the forge and this is a working forge. I visited this time to purchase fireplace tools for our farmhouse. The prices are always very reasonable and the quality is without question. I purchased some oversized tools for our ourtdoor fireplace at home over a year ago and they are amazing. I highly recommend this gentleman and his business.

The owner, Jerry Darnell, is a charming and warm man of many talents, who gave us a demonstration to thrill. Beginning with the basic nail and hook, he progressed through demonstrations of traditional blacksmithing techniques and took it into the realm of fine art, when he surprised and fascinated us by creating a black swan before our eyes. My children and I were mesmerized. Of course, the forge is HOT and BLACK and sooty, so be careful where you touch, but come in and see the myriad of tools and hammers, many which he has personally made, and see the fire stoked with the large bellows. There's a charming, small shop where many of his wares can be found, including intricate candle accommodating chandeliers, decorative hooks and candelabras, ladles, and other crafts, including pottery from local potters in the area. The Mill Creed Forge was built from reclaimed wood and stone taken from his ancestor's home and carefully placed here with love. This is a rare, local treat, and great for home schoolers studying colonial times, as well as anyone interested in handmade quality items. We loved our visit here.

Our 2004-built house featured Heart of Pine floors that, while full of character, showed noticeable wear and tear. We contacted Heritage Hardwood Flooring, and Dan promptly visited to assess the situation. He thoroughly explained the process of refinishing our existing floors and installing new Heart of Pine flooring in our office, master bedroom, and new master closet. Dan's expertise and deep knowledge of Heart of Pine made our decision clear. He matched our floors beautifully. Our project spanned several months due to another contractor building the new master closet. We started with the office and master bedroom. Once the master closet was completed, Dan installed the new flooring and refinished the old floors after the renovation was finished. Working with Dan was a pleasure; each phase of the project was executed with outstanding workmanship. His crew was professional and courteous throughout. They show up, they show up on time and they show up ready to work. Despite the project being divided into three phases, Dan made a concerted effort to accommodate our schedule. We highly recommend Heritage Hardwood Flooring for their exceptional service and outstanding results. They have certainly earned our five-star rating.
