Needless to say, I was so impressed with their customer service and attention to detail. Jay was Johnny on the spot with suggestions and between texts and talk and photos of the gas line. Lebanon area that had good bones, but needed a lot of work. I wish we had J. Francis from the very beginning. It would have saved us serious money and a lot of wasted time. In addition to the bath remodel, they went on to rebuild our deck (which had to be completely redone due to the same bad previous contractor), install new hardwood floors in our living room/dining room and re-tile our foyer. From the moment that we contacted them through the entire remodel they have shown an impressive level of professionalism. The lead carpenter and crew did exceptional work and showed a level of professionalism that often seems to be absent. The wood work and tile work is stunning. I can not think of anything negative to say regarding the work. The quality has exceded our expectations. We strongly recommend their work.

He told that he took other work and will come next day. After that when i called few times, his girl friend/partner replied saying he was sick with flu. Since then he will never respond to my texts or calls. I moved all stuff into one room and my wife was pretty pissed off. The guy didn't inform or reply about schedule change or even take our calls. We are stuck with piles of luggage in one room and he barely care to respond. Initially he said that he has another work next week but he only has couple of days worth work at our house. When i sent email to his email, it bounced. Now i am thinking his company is fake and i would not recommend the company for any one else. He talked about quality a lot and complained about previous refinishing in other rooms. He didn't have decency to update the customer about change of plans. He just moves to other contract leaving existing ones in the middle if he gets a better rate and bigger work. That's what i am getting about this company.

Avoid at All Costs - Total Ripoff by Joshua Schwartz & Artifex Remodeling…read moreI wish I had read a review like this before hiring Joshua Schwartz and Artifex Remodeling because it would have saved me a massive headache and a lot of money. This was, without a doubt, one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a contractor. The Bait-and-Switch Tactic Joshua Schwartz came off as confident and knowledgeable during the initial consultation. He promised high-quality work, reasonable timelines, and great attention to detail. Everything sounded perfect. But the moment I paid my deposit, the professionalism disappeared. Getting responses became nearly impossible, and suddenly, all those "guarantees" were just empty words. Deposit Taken, Then Ghosted After taking my deposit, communication became a nightmare. Calls and messages were ignored, and when I did get a response, I was fed nothing but excuses and delays. Weeks went by with no progress. I had to chase them down just to get vague, half-hearted answers about why the project hadn't started. Poor Workmanship & Cutting Corners When they finally did show up to do the work, it was rushed and completely subpar. Crooked installations, sloppy finishes, and corners cut everywhere. It was clear that they were just trying to get in and out as quickly as possible while still collecting full payment. And when I pointed out the issues? They either ignored me or made excuses. Price Keeps Changing & No Accountability The final straw was when they suddenly asked for more money to "fix issues" that they themselves created! I had already paid them a significant amount, and now they were trying to squeeze more money out of me for their own mistakes. When I refused, they basically walked away and left the job unfinished. Final Verdict - Stay Away Joshua Schwartz and Artifex Remodeling are completely untrustworthy. They will take your money, disappear, and then do shoddy work when they finally show up. Do NOT trust this company. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away and hire someone reputable. You've been warned.
