We purchased a new HVAC unit that was installed on January 2, 2024. June 2024, we had a service call because the unit was making a loud noise -- the tech found that the disconnect wasn't plugged in properly. February 11, 2025, another service call and was charged approximately $229.50. March 2025, another service call because it wasn't cooling. A leak was found inside the service valve and condenser. This cost us $697 which included the addition of four pounds of refrigerant. May 17, 2025, another service call because it wasn't cooling -- again. The head pressure was shooting up and a restriction in the piston inside the evaporator coil was found. Paid a service call of $95. June 14, 2025, yet another service call because it wasn't cooling. Tech said readings were out of balance. It was determined we need a new evaporator coil which should be covered under the warranties we have for parts and labor. I received an estimate of $735 for this repair. Part of this charge is for another six pounds of refrigerant. This unit is 1 1/2 years old and we have had five service calls and paid approximately $1,021.50 for these calls. I was shocked when I received an estimate of $735 to fix a problem that in my opinion should be covered under warranty. If not covered under warranty I would think Superior Air would do the right thing and fix a product which obviously doesn't meet standards that should be expected with a new AC unit. Firstly, No portable AC was ever offered. After replacing the fan motor the technician said it may take until next morning to cool the house. We made the payment & he left. Shortly afterward, Superior AC called saying the service manager was on the way to check the unit, & the circuit board may need replacing. We asked why their manager needs to check the tech's work...doesn't he trust his techs? And, why would the circuit board need to be replaced? So, we told Superior to cancel the service manager's visit...we'd wait a few hours & monitor the cooling. Later, around 5:30 pm, (Fri), & still no cooling, we called Superior. After-hours answered, & told us the manager was unavailable until Mon 8am. So, we decided to call another company. Barkers AC's tech came in 1 hour and, at the outside condensing unit, found that the compressor plug/harness was Not connected. He connected the plug & immediately the AC started working perfectly. You decide whether Superior's tech was incompetent or unscrupulous, but does it really matter? Will you trust Superior Air Repair? read more

Free quote but didn't really follow through with what was promised... They left a ton of dust build up in our system and only told us after that the duct cleaning didn't cover it. Said it would have been another $300 to clean what took me and a vacuum about 15 mins. Even though when they came back an entire week later to replace the filter (like they said they would) the tech said that with that much build up it could destroy the entire system. When you get a pro to come in you would think they would tell you something if it was that important and try to include it in the original quote. It was quite expensive as it was ($600) but I figured these guys knew what they were doing. The young kids they sent to actually do the work were pretty nice but a little inexperienced and seemed to be afraid to go above and beyond when it came to fixing our system. They showed up over an hour late which really screwed my day up because I was waiting to jump in the shower and didn't realize that since they were so late that I wouldn't be able to access my kitchen until past 4:00pm. Couldn't eat, couldn't shower, and still had to stay home because the guys were very "hands on" with our items. They were scoping out watches and jewelry... Didn't really feel comfortable talking about valuables with strangers that were left unattended in each of our rooms. It seems like the business gets drummed up by smooth talkers and the actual work is the last priority. Overall, I was pretty disappointed... The crew left a bunch of stuff in our yard and after I contacted the company it took them over a week to come collect it. I have a feeling that there are better options out there that care about doing the job right. I wouldn't recommend. read more

1 star, if there were an option, I would have selected a 1/2 Star!! 07/01/2022 I'd like to share my story so that you are better informed about the decisions you make when looking for HVAC work in the B/CS area, 1.) I am not one to complain & consider myself very patient and understanding. But, SAR did a less than acceptable job in replacing my air ducts. I did voice my concerns to them, and they did make some adjustments, but I was still very dissatisfied with their performance. 2.) Once this job was complete (Jan 22'), I opened the attic entrance only to find a 22" duct line running right across the entrance blocking it. 3.) I was able to carefully make my way inside the attic and noticed that a lot of air was escaping from a 2-3" gap where the unit was attached to the vent lines. Although they did correct this leak, they wanted to charge extra for redirecting the vent lines to another area away from the entrance. The way I understand this is that I paid for them to plan the installation and the lines should have been run correctly in the first place and NOT blocking the entrance. I told them that this is unacceptable. I still need to go up there to make sure there are no other gaps that would be wasting my electricity while cooling down my attic! Unpleased in C.S. 8/3/2022 Update: We had another company come in and remove and install new attic insulation. They mentioned several issues of air escaping from end of line seals and a complete gap in one line that caused insulation to be released from bathroom vent. Returned from a week in Colorado to a very hot house. Superior offered to send someone right over (after 10pm). Met with Roger and he took the time to educate me and show me possible issues and solutions. Also showed me how to best maintain the system. Even followed up after the job. If the name of your technician is JASON, STAY AWAY. Besides looking sleazy and like a junkie, he checked out my heater and said I would likely need a new one (about $6,000) but he could potentially fix it but the part itself was $500 so with labor it would be more. He recommended I just buy a new unit and used scare tactics to get me to avoid the repair by saying since it's an old unit it may not function correctly and by law he would have to disable it so that I could never use it until it's replaced. I told him to send me quotes for both options. Here's where it gets juicy. I said I would likely go with the repair and that I would pay the $95 diagnostic fee that I wasn't told about when he comes back the next day to do the repair. He proceeded to curse me out for making him come out for free and tried to make me feel bad talking about how he had to leave his kids at home just to fix my heater. He said he would put me on a no call list so that no one in town would help me out. The next day I called another HVAC company and they mentioned to me that the previous technician intentionally left the blower motor unhooked so that the furnace wouldn't turn on. They were able to repair the furnace for $380 parts and labor included and they didn't charge me anything for reconnecting the blower motor. I'm just glad I found my go to HVAC person. Wonderful company! Fast efficient and polite. We had steve come out and give us an estimate for the repair and he was awesome! I felt so at ease and that he truly cared about our cost and the best way to get our system working again. He also worked around schedule. Mack was the one who actually did the repairs and he was great! They came out two different times because it just wasn't working and stayed til it was fixed. They also gave us information about new systems since ours is definitely getting closer to quitting. So we can start saving up for the inevitable replacement. Had a scheduled check up for the furnace. Jason came out and looked over my furnace and asked if i had any issues with the system they put in in April. I told him one of the rooms was warmer than the others and he got to work. he rerouted a secondary return and opened up another restriction in the main return. i was very pleased with his knowledge and work ethic. read more

They charge $95 to do a diagnosis and that amount is not applied toward the necessary repair. My refrigerator needs a simple change of pipes, the problem is clear and visible, a simple repair, even after explaining that they would still charge $95 just to look at it. No thanks! read more
