Then I REdiscovered a stylist there who has worked at Supercuts for many years... and, I'm now a committed customer again but going only to Anisa. The "greeter" at Oro Valley is quite cheerful and makes sure you understand the wait time, definitely apologizing if they can't meet your time requirement. read more

Every snip felt like part of a masterpiece, and the end result was polished, fresh, and exactly what I wanted. Honestly, it was so good I half expected paparazzi to be waiting outside! That being said, I did knock off one star--because while the quality is undeniable, the regular price runs about $7 higher than Great Clips. Apparently making an appointment online doesn't actually get you your appointment time you made. I made an appointment online for 10:15am. I showed up to the salon at 10:08am. I let them know I made an appt. on their app, and then the stylist said, okay, you're checked in but there are three people ahead of you. Well, I wasn't even called to have my hair cut until 10:35am. I don't know if those three people were walk-ins or if they made an appt. online, but I would put my $$ on it that they were walk-ins because when I made my appt. online, there weren't any appointments sooner than 10:15am. Also, when I was parked outside their salon waiting for my time, the exact people I saw walk-in during me waiting, were the exact people that were ahead of me. Why have an app to make an appt. with if you won't even have your service at the time you scheduled? Ridiculous. read more

Needed to find a good local place to get a haircut, sampled a few and found my place to get a haircut here at SuperCuts near the Home Depot in Oro Valley. I've had a few people cut my hair here and all did a good job. Recommend them all, especially Vanessa. While waiting for a haircut, I've listened to the staff chatting with customers, and the staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. The shop is clean and well maintained. Prices are reasonable and you get a punch card. After so many haircuts, you get one free. Nice incentive. Looking for a good haircut, I highly recommend this place. read more

I have been a repeat customer for almost two years, ever since I moved up this way. Today I went in for my normal root touch up. I had an appointment, but ended up waiting another hour to be taken care of! Plus, upon calling to set up my appointment, I asked if they had my haircolor in. She said yes they did. But then I get there today and they had used every last bit on someone else earlier in the day and didn't bother to call me, so I had to go with a darker black. I have lighter black hair and have extremely gray roots. (So now I have darker roots.) I got a new girl I've never seen in there before, but she said she's been doing hair for 7 years. I asked that she not let me leave there with dye on my skin as I had a dinner to go to later after a few errands. (I had to be out in public) she dyed my hair, but when it came to cleaning up the dye from my skin, she did a tiny bit, then handed me the towel and said I could do the rest. My hair was still extremely dripping wet, and she just walked off. Didn't offer me another towel, or even offer to dry my hair a little. I asked for a towel and some help to get the back. Not much help there either. I ended up still walking out with dripping wet hair, dye on my skin I couldn't get to but could see, and I'm now going to have to forgo my errands and possibly dinner with my significant other. Just so I can go home and ask him to help me do something that should have been taken care of before I left the salon. I WILL NOT be returning there again. Ever. I have added photos to show what it looks like after she "attempted" to help me. I ended up having to go to dollar tree to get a brush, a hair clip to at least get my bangs out of my face, and a towel to dry my hair enough so it wasn't dripping; just so I could go to the grocery store to get something to make for dinner. read more

Great service and pretty good quality. A little long of a wait time sometimes but understandable given that female customers can take a while. Sometimes, seating happens as soon as you come in which is nice. Checking in usually guarantees a spot but sometimes you're waiting for a while before getting the haircut. This place needs to understand customer service and how to welcome people. The people that work at this location don't understand customer quality care. There have been various customers that go in and tell the people explicitly what they want and give them a warning that if they want more taken off, they'll let them know. I made an appointment online over an hour prior to my scheduled time. I arrived 5 minutes early. There's one hairdresser with a client she's working on already, which clearly is going to be awhile to complete. The kid that greets me tells me the two other people waiting in the waiting area are in front of me! I waited 15 minutes and there was no movement in sight. This is a horrible way to manage a business! I'll not return and you should consider carefully making "appointments" with this place! read more

Went for a simple haircut, asked for only the length take off and showed Stylist Vanessa a picture of how I like it blow dried/finished (the first pic) and extra volume at the top. She told me she didn't know how to do that using a hairdryer so she would use the curling iron to do that. Nothing at all like what I asked for. I hate this. They were shortstaffed and I felt bad, so I tipped her and said thanks and then went to my car crying hating my hair. Zero volume up top, just flat with crimping marks on top of my head, and how the hell is this style anywhere near close to my picture I showed her?? And she charged me a $10 fee for using the curling iron, which made it come out like complete crap. Had she told me there was an extra flat iron fee, I would've had her just blow dry it completely straight. I used to take my boys here to get their haircuts and this is the first time I've been in for myself. I'm so disappointed, pissed about the fee and how my hair looks nothing like I asked it to be styled. I get my haircut maybe twice a year, it's something that usually makes me feel good after. I hate my hair. And not I have to go home and fix it before going to work. So unhappy. read more

I hated this. i'm just gonna be blunt. Every trim, every cut i've gotten at supercuts has sucked and i've cried when i got into my car every time. They just kept cutting. Its always way shorter than I want. I hate it. It makes me angry how they don't listen, how they don't observe my style and make assumptions. I'm a stylish man, I dress more European with button-downs and ties. I'm a slim man but not sickly, and I dress to look way more wealthy than I am. My hair was on the lengthier side for a while and i enjoyed it. Then i got a cut at supercuts and they gave me this ugly ass fade. Wanna know how much that upset me and ruined my day?? Whenever I just cannot with washing my hair, I go here, I also take my 4yo curly haired son for haircuts here. I haven't been terribly disappointed yet. I'm an AA natural, with 3c/4a hair that gets VERY DRY in Tucson. I'm supposed to co-wash once per week, but life gets me sometimes and I get behind sometimes on clarifying. Here's the thing, if you're afraid to have anyone do your hair (it's a valid fear), this is NOT the experience for you. I am of the school that it's just hair and it'll grow back. That said, this is not a salon where you'll find people who truly understand curly hair or are comfortable with it. My son's hair is shaved on the sides and left pretty long on top as he's pretty curly headed, so they tend to do an okay job with watchful guidance (don't cut off his widow's peak) and a photograph. As for my hair, their products aren't horrible: they do have the JOICO sulfate-free color shampoo/conditioner, which I love. The Tea Tree brand isn't terrible either (and tbh, even though I know it strips my hair, I love it because of hte tingle, but I only use it when I'm weeks behind on clarifying my hair). I usually need 3 washes to get clean and I've never been impressed with their deep-conditioners so I brought my own today. Finally, the experience I've been looking for. Connie (current manager) was really timid with scrubbing my scalp, but by the third wash, she realized I wasn't going to be hurt. She did kind of pick at then rip at my hair, but for a first time, I wasn't horrified. Plus it's just hair. I had to explain how to use a wide-tooth comb and detangle from the tip to the root, which I'll admit, isn't something most people who don't regularly do curly hair know. She did a really good job following directions with washing, conditioning, detangling and deep-conditioning and, for the first time (for me) I left completely satisfied! So, basically if you're a LAZY natural like me, bring your own products. The prices are very reasonable, but please tip well because they definitely don't reflect the amount of work that goes into the privilege of skipping wash day altogether ;) They always do a GREAT job with my 4 yos cut and for the price (they discount kids' cuts on one weekday, I think it's Tuesday) it's a DEFINITE WIN! Worst experience ever! The lady who was using clippers on my son, 9 yrs old with special needs didn't use a safety guard and cut his ear. She knew he has special needs because I told her when I made his appointment. She didn't even check his ear when he said ouch that hurt and she acted as if it was nothing. I checked his ear and it was bleeding. She got a small wipe but the blood was coming out more and I was trying to find paper towels to stop the bleeding. The other 2 hair dressers were beyond rude and completely unkind to my child because he screamed a few times. I had to tell one of them to not correct him and that I would handle him because she was trying to tell him in an assertive tone he couldn't scream in there. How can you defend being cruel to a child with autism? We were ran out by the hair dressers rudeness at my poor child because of their cold attitudes at him for screaming. Thank God for Sport Clips! We found an excellent hair stylist named Amber there who uses safety guards on her clippers, extremely patient and kind with my son and so experienced. I even gave her a good tip! She took the time to explain everything to my son so he knew he was safe and in good hands unlike what took place at Supercuts I definitely will be contacting corporate about this incident! I have only been here twice in the last 40 days. Ana and Stephanie cut my hair each time, respectively. Both stylists are warm, beautiful, and talented at their craft. I am not a usual Supercuts kind of guy, but after 40 years in CA with only 2 stylists (male) over that time I was apprehensive about going to a corporate store. Ana broke the ice with an amazingly sweet, gentle demeanor and gave me a cut that aligned with my expectations. Today, Stephanie cut my hair with a shampoo. She is a bright, warm, beautiful individual and she followed suit with Ana and gave me an amazing cut! These two young women are enough to convince me that I may make Supercuts Oro Valley my new place....as long as one of these two perform the task of making this old, retired Fireman look good read more

Isabella did a great job for me yesterday. I was a month overdue for a haircut and waiting for my stylist to be able to return to work. I decided to stop by Supercuts for a trim. Isabella worked with me and really took her time. I am impressed by her skills. Better yet even though I left with the top too long and despite my own approval, Isabella was willing to continue to trim the top when I came back. She did not have to do this in such a nice way. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and although they did ask if I had checked in online, they made it very clear that it was fine that I hadn't. I have gone to Dani once before and loved how she cut my hair and promised myself that I would only go to her. Yesterday I broke that promise and had someone else cut my hair. It was not until I got home that I noticed one side was longer than the other. It made me mad at myself for not waiting one more day for Dani. I was pleasantly surprised this morning with my haircut by Kaitlyn. I gave her specific information about what I wanted and how much I wanted her to cut off my hair. She did exactly what I requested. Trying to grow my hair out, so just asked for a slight trim on the ends, and the stylist cut about an inch, at least, along with layering and doesn't even blend well. Very unhappy! Also, got color and walked out with color stains all around hairline-I would not recommend. read more

Do not bring children here. Even though they advertised "For Men Women and Children" and have a service for kids, staff (at least woman managing store on 12/12/14 day shift) was extremely rude and insensitive. Our 4 year old was whining about getting a hair cut and staff said "It is not fair to other clients to hear a child cry, so we can't cut his hair." He was not having a meltdown or a tantrum and was not even being particularly loud. Will look elsewhere for hair care and recommend friends and family do the same. read more

It only takes one time of poor customer service for me to never return to a business. I have visited this Supercuts on numerous occasions, as have other members of my family, and, for the most part, we have always been pleased. Today, though, was unacceptable. There was only one person waiting when I came in for my usual haircut and eyebrow wax. I was not quoted a wait time. There were 2 women working, one who cutting a customer's hair and the other who had just finished. She called the next customer, a man that just wanted a trim. While she was cutting the man's hair, 6 people came in and got on the wait list. They were all quoted at an hour. The stylist finished with the gentleman, walked over to the other stylist and said she was leaving, to which she was told take as long as you need. She took off her apron and went to the back where she got her purse, and then left, leaving those waiting kind of stunned. Meanwhile, the remaining stylist continued with her customer as if were a day at the beauty parlor in Steel Magnolias. After a short wait, I told her that I was not going to wait, and I thought that the departure of the other stylist was very poor customer service and rude to the waiting customers. There are many other, and in all honesty, better places to go. read more
