Wish I could give this 0 stars.
I have never written a review, and did not want to start now. Unfortunately, I am forced to write a review, because I reached out to the company on March 8th, 2024, and wrote a review on their page on March 26th. I have yet to hear back from anyone. I guess the only way to get someone from the company to respond is to write a poor review. Which is unfortunate.
I have visited this salon a couple times in the past 5 years for a quick trim and have never had an issue.
I stopped in for a quick trim on Feb 27th. I let the stylist know that my hair is naturally curly, but I blow dry it straight with a blow dryer brush. I informed him that I avoid hair straighteners because they are so damaging to the hair. I asked the gentleman to cut off 1 inch. I also visually showed him how much I wanted cut off, just so there was no confusion. I also asked him to trim the layer that I had in my hair.
(* side note: my hair was falling out a couple years ago, so when it grew back, it obviously didn't all start growing at the same time. So I had a layer in my hair that I had been slowly growing out to make it the same length as the rest of my hair. I was about 2 months away from my hair finally all being the same length.*)
The stylist did not listen to me at all. He cut off 5 INCHES of my hair, and put multiple layers in my hair. The shortest layer is about 3 1/2 inches long. I cannot use my blow dryer brush, because the layer is too short. So I am forced to use a hair straightener. But it really doesn't matter, because my hair is shaped like a mushroom. I cannot wear it down, because I am so embarrassed of the cut. Putting it in a ponytail, even a low ponytail, proves to be an issue as well, because my hair is so many different lengths, that layers keep falling out.
I am not a confrontational person, so I just paid my bill and left. I was also on the verge of tears, and did not want to cry in the middle of the salon.
I did go to another stylist, to see if they could help in any way. I was told there was nothing they could do until it grew out more.
So for now, I am stuck looking like Toad from Mario until my hair grows out. Because the stylist didn't listen to a word I said, this is going to take me a couple years for my hair to grow out and all be the same length. read more
