Took my son to get a haircut here. Had a picture for reference and when they finished it didn't look anything like what he wanted. Unfortunately, my recent experience at Supercuts Norwood was disappointing. My stylist Colleen did a hack job with a basic men's haircut. All I asked was a trim at the sides and back and a short length off the top. But the stylist seemed to be least interested, hardly interacted and took a few cuts all around with clippers and that was it! I had to specifically ask her to trim a few long hairs that she missed. Not much could be done at this point and overall hair lengths were all over the place. And it was not like there was a rush. I was so happy when this place reopened after being closed for awhile. Had received coupons in the mail--bonus. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience w the two ladies there ( whom I'd never seen before) and I will not go back. I was very clear about what I wanted, which was pretty simple. Basic inch off the bottom and same off the long layered angles in front on the sides. My hair was already in this style, I just wanted a trim. I showed them just what I meant by lifting the layers and showing them the angle. The hairdresser I had told me it was impossible to do what I wanted. I told her I'd been getting that done for years at another Supercuts she called her associate over and they both told me what I was describing could not happen. They asked me where I'd been getting it done that way. Told them I used to get it there when the shop was open and then I got it in a nearby town. They told me that was impossible, that they knew those stylists and they would not have done what I was describing. Honestly we're talking a very slight angle and long layers! I gave up and gave in-- my bad. They did what they insisted was the right way to do it, which left me with the opposite of what I wanted. I will not return to this location even though I have three more coupons. Going back to the neighboring town where they cheerfully do what I ask and it always looks great. read more

I've always had great experiences with Supercuts and have been going to them for years. Today I tried the Norwood location and had an incredible hairdresser. Not only did she give me a terrific haircut but she explained a lot of what she was doing and gave me great suggestions that really helped me understand what to ask for in the future. Supercuts is never the height of luxury, but this place was worse than my usual. I showed a picture with what I wanted and am very disappointed with the result. I asked for a fake mohawk with clipped slides. Maybe they were going off the brief glimpse of the picture, or just give everyone the same length, but I wasn't asked what number I wanted for the clipper or how I wanted my neck (straight across/curved). They cut the top so short that I can't style it all and didn't leave the bangs as long as I asked. I think she forgot I asked that at all as she was very busy talking to multiple people while cutting my hair. I don't begrudge her that, as she was very busy; however, I would to feel like she wont cut a chunk off by accident. It was a couple dollars cheaper than my usual Supercuts, but that's about it. read more

There's reason this got low reviews, people should take these to considerstion. I visited three times now finally decided to review on how ineffecient and unprofessional the people are. Everytime I visit something or the other issues, last visit the person who cut my hair took nearly 60 minutes to give absolutely no difference kindaa haircut and even on mentioning multiple times on how I want, she keep insisting on "it wont look good dont get that", I know what I want how can they decide what I want. She cut her finger twice on using scissors, I even asked her to use clippers, but no!! she like to re create red wedding all over me. My mind was going over the episode where sheldon searches for his old barber. I was literally shouting inside "leave me now". I went back three times, not again. read more

Like reviewers below, I am a very plain customer. As a male in his late 20s, all I have needed to say for a haircut has been "Number 2 on the sides, Number 4 on top." I have been to this SuperCuts for about 6 previous visits and have had average to good experiences. However, I went there today and seemed to be an enormous inconvenience to the woman working on my hair. She huffed and puffed from the back room, rushed through my haircut like she was late for a date, and left random strands sticking out all over the place. 3 minutes late she said "13.95 Pay up front" and literally took out the broom and started sweeping me out of the chair. I didn't want a fuss, so I paid and went down the street to a real barber and had it fixed. read more

I have been a customer of this supercuts for over 15 years and never have I had a problem... today I went in for a usual haircut. The woman, kerri, was rough and actually buzzed one side of my head shorter than the other side.. not a happy customer. She was acting weird too, she left halfway thru the experience to wash her hands.. I know the hairdressers here to go school before working but maybe some of them need some more training, and probably a semester or two in finishing school read more

OK, so given my impoverished current state (laid off) I was a fan of Supercuts. Supercuts in Norwood on Lenox Street is conveniently located in Norwood in a plaza with a ton of other shops and places for lunch. The haircuts had been OK. I don't really ask for a whole lot but I can not cut my own hair. Anyways, I went there a couple times and I started to receive coupons in the mail. They do highlighting services at that Supercuts and I wanted to highlight my hair so I figured what the heck. AHHH!!! I am not going to mention any names of hairstylists there but AHHH!! I am mainly not going to mention any names because the people that work there are very nice. To their credit I did tell him or her to use their best judgement on what color to highlight my hair. But, I clearly said NO BLONDE. Now half of my hair is bleached white. The woman asked if she could fix it, well, she said she could throw another color on top but she had all ready been doing a lot of mixing and and adjusting and asking her co workers to look at my hair and what they thought while they both thought I was sleeping because my eyes were closed. Anyways, after I saw it I DID NOT want anyone their touching my hair. I just wanted to get out of there. I would advise anyone to save their money for any type of color and not go to Supercuts in Norwood. Basic hair cuts and a friendly experience are what one should expect at Supercuts in Norwood, and nothing more. read more

Bad coloring-hair was orange but they insisted it was the lighting and/or it would oxidize in a couple of days - never did - had to spend additional money in different salon to fix. I wish I could give this zero stars! The manager here, Sheryl is the rudest person I've ever encountered in a salon in my life! She literally has the customer service skills of a doorknob, SMH even her employees hate her... I made an appointment 24 hours in advance with my preferred stylist & called back twice to make sure she was in fact going to be at that location & not the other one in town. Upon my arrival I was told, very rudely I might add, that she wasn't there but at the other location, RU KIDDING ME?! I was not offered any apologies or anything for my inconvenience! this is my husband's account but I need to share my experience with a woman there named Larisa. I explained specifically what I wanted, showed her the length and made it as simple to understand as possible. she proceeded to completely ignore what I said and cut my hair completely wrong. she made me take my glasses off so I couldn't see that she had destroyed my hair until it was too late. I told her she cut it too short and she told me she cut it how I asked. so she basically called me a liar as I sat there trying not to cry. the last time i went there a woman messed my hair up, not as bad as this time, but i fixed it at home by myself, so i let that experience go as a simple mistake. this however could not be fixed because she hacked all my hair off. she didn't apologize or seem to care at all. never go here, they will ignore your requests and do whatever they feel like to your hair with no regard to what you actually ask for. EDIT: I went to dye my hair after writing this review, and saw that she had left about 2 inches of uneven hair all around the right side of my head. it was completely asymmetrical, so I had to spend about 20 minutes fixing it myself. I would say this shop is maybe slightly better than average, but yelp doesn't give you the option of fractional star ratings. Overall, my experiences here have been pretty good. The haircuts are a good value for the money, especially compared to designer barber shops who'd charge 70-110% more for the exact same result, and the reward program further adds to the value. I have a simple haircut and I don't get any fancy add-ons, so there's really no need for me to waste time making appointments or pay more money. That said, although there are a lot of very skilled and diligent barbers who work here, the consistency of the quality is not up to standards. Sometimes my haircut has been dead-on perfect, other times, merely passable. The best thing a business can be is consistently good and efficient. I took my elderly mother in for a trim recently. This was our second visit to this location. I don't have unrealistic expectations of Supercuts; I know the stylists are often young with little experience, but it's inexpensive so the trade off can be worth it . We have had many good experiences at the other Norwood location near Home Depot. Anyway, the stylist who was to do my mothers hair was not young. I did not get her name, wish I had. She had a heavy accent and dark hair. My mother told her what she wanted and then stylist proceeded to say she wouldn't do it, it would come out wrong. My mother is 88 years old and knows her hair and what works, and every other stylist has had no problem with giving her this simple cut of about an inch off the bottom with it parted on the side. The stylist was so rude about it , kept saying no, no, I will do it the way I know how. I went over and politely asked if she would please just part it on the side and take an inch off all around, which is what she always gets. Stylist again said no in a very rude way and said she'd do it the way she wanted to. My mothers hair was wet, it was cold, but I would have taken her out anyway but my mother decided to just get through it. It came out uneven as we expected and I had to fix it myself later. So so so disrespectful and rude. We will never go back to this location. read more

I asked to have 1 inch cut off. After a few minutes of cutting way more than one inch. She begin to come the front of my hair and poked me directly in the eyeball with the comb. Hard enough to knock my contact out of my eye. She continued cutting and at the end said it looks great I took just about 5 inches off. I told her to cut ONE. I go to pay and I had signed up for emails. The email said I had $2 off a haircut but had to be at this location. The girl tells me they don't have a scanner at this location so it cannot be used. My family and I had just moved here to Norwood and were looking for a place to call our family hair salon. I got a lot more than I was looking for. It started out that my wife had gone down to Supercuts here in town and got her hair colored. Well, they colored it, but they didn't color all of her hair! They let it dry, then flat ironed it. My wife then asked them to fix their mistakes, and they told her that they would have to charge her TWICE!!! WHAT THE HELL!!... So then she came home upset and I told her that we would go down there in the A.M. the next day to see what we can do... So the next day my wife, myself and my 1 year old went down there so she could get her hair fixed and my son and I could get a hair cut. hhhmmmm not only did one of the employees turn her back on my wife but they told her that they couldn't help her.. Well, I then stood up for my wife and told them that what they did was wrong! And that we were clearly upset.... Then the "assistant manager," after a while, finally came to me and said, " Well, if you and your wife want to come back in, we will do the work free of charge." I then said, "we will let the dust settle and try this again at a later time." 3 weeks later I went back with my son and was denied by the assistant manager!! and the owner, who was sitting getting her hair done!!! They said that they couldn't help us??!!!! What the hell???!! I am outraged by the customer service I received, and the waste of gas money to get there!!! I am new to getting my hair highlighted and wanted a place that was a little more cost effective the place i went to before for a full foil was $120. When i walked in a woman with black hair and bangs looked at me and asked me what i wanted in a very unfriendly tone. I explained i wanted high lights, she then paused awkwardly and gave me an annoyed face and said its $10 a foil how many do you want? being new i am not sure that why i pay someone to do it for me, i stated i wanted my hair lighter and so i wasn't sure, she sighed and asked some other hair dresser who said 15 foils would do it, and then turned and said that'll be $150 dollars then, i turned and walked out, why would i spend 30 more dollars for a salon thats supposed to be cheaper....i was so annoyed leaving, i will never go back because of the rude attitude i got from that woman, if i were the manager/owner id be so embarrassed. read more

My stylist and the stylist next to me griped nastily to each other about a part-time colleague which one of them would be stuck with at work on a Wednesday evening. Guess she calls in sick and leaves early too much. Why do I need to know this? Also, they won't honor company coupons, I'm told, only ones they distribute locally or to their list. Marie at Supercuts does an awesome job. I'm a new mom and the high end salon I usually go to does not let people bring babies. I tried cutting my own hair at home and TOTALLY messed it up. I called ahead and told the receptionist what I'd done, she booked me same day with Marie. She was pleasant, fast, and she fixed me!...turned my tragic situation into a sleek bob and made me promise not to cut my own hair again. If you want to be sure to get her, I would call ahead. I went here with serious split ends and after having a bad cut at another Supercuts (not so much bad as I told her to keep it long and she barely cut any hair, so I was left with TONS of split ends leaving me no choice but to get several inches taken off). I explained all of this to the stylist, Deeana (sp?) and told her exactly what I wanted and she delivered! Deeana gave me a great cut (mid-length with layers and angles) and was very thorough in her work. I highly recommend her. She saved my hair!! read more

Never had any problems but today I went in asking for a regular haircut. The lady who cut my hair came in from smoking and was breathing in my face with smoke breath the entire cut. Absolutely disgusting. Not to mention, she practically gave me a buzz cut, about half an inch long, when it is usually about 2 inches long. It looks terrible and I will never be going back again. Great hair dresses and great hair cut for such an amazing price. The only thing that made this review go from 5 stars to 4 was the girl who runs the register. It started with her ignoring me when I first walked in. She would intrude on conversations and say very inappropriate things in front of customers.
