    Kids haircut

What a $24 kids haircut will get you at this place. Stylist went so high up and her blending was horrible. I asked for a fade and this is what she gave him. Told her to use scissors on top and she didn't even do that. Still tipped her $5 for her time but definitely was not happy with the haircut.

You decided to go rogue and cut 6 inches off my hair instead of 3!! I went in today to get a trim. I told the lady I wanted a trim and when she asked how much I wanted cut. I told her three inches. She showed me what three inches looked like and I confirmed that was what I wanted. She started cutting the back of my hair where I couldn't see how much she was cutting off. After about 3 minutes into cutting my hair she asks me if I want layers. I told her no and she said let me show you the back because your hair is very damaged. When she turn me to show me the back I saw that she had not cut 3 inches off but she had cut 6 inches off. I immediately told her that my hair looked really short and that she took off more than three inches. She told me that she had too because it was damaged. She said she had to now cut layers because it is still damaged. I told her not to cut them if it was going to make my hair shorter. She said it wouldn't. Then she cut a 2 to 2.5 inch chunk that she called a "layer" out of the front of my hair (pictures show it). My hair is super uneven with these horrible chunky layers in the front of my face where everyone will see them. And it is now 6 inches shorter instead of 3 inches like I asked! It took me years to grow my hair that long and will now take me at least a year to growth that 3 extra inches she decided to take off without asking me or my permission. I have no idea why you thought you had the authority to cut 6 inches off my hair without my permission. I came in for a trim, not to have my hair chopped off. Three inches was my max and more than I was really comfortable having cut off. You cut off twice as much! I have asked multiple people who see me on a daily basis and they all say my hair is 6 inches shorter. And worse than than, I will now have to probably have it cut shorter to even out the extra 2 inch additional chunk missing in the front. And I had to pay $28 for that. And now pay someone else to fix it after you butchered the front of it. After when I told you that you cut my hair super short and shorter than I wanted, you responded with "but it looks healthier now". How dare you. I cannot believe you have a license or that a Corporation like Supercuts would employee someone who just goes rogue like that and decides to cut someone's hair however they want without asking the customer if it is okay. Look at the pictures, what were you thinking?

Visiting from SF and wanted to get a haircut around Anaheim area since I have a party to attend to…read moreand couldn't see my regular stylist in sf before my trip. Read some reviews of this salon and saw the transparent pricing and decided to book for Saturday 5/23/26 (Memorial weekend!) they were able to fit me at a convenient time at 12pm. Walked in and was told to put on a gown, which was super cute since I've never been to a Korean salon! Coffee, water, and tea station is available right in the front. They washed my hair and seated me right away. I told my stylist, Lydia, an inspo pic and I'd say it gets really close to what I want! They blew dry my hair and my hair feels sooo nice after the cut and wash. If I live here, I'd definitely be back. Thank you Elle Hair Salon and Lydia

UPDATE 1: I think there was a lot of miscommunication (language barriers). I've also thin hair that…read moreadds complication. I requested a cooler mushroom ash brown & showed photos I thought were a darker, creamy brown. It came out blond so I stopped Yuna from styling, researched & asked for dark "grey ash" to rid yellow. Not upset with Yuna, just the pink brass fix. I didn't notice / ask for discount at checkout but TY. I lied w/ "it's okay" because I was stressed and wanted to leave, but I told Yuna the truth at checkout. I just want this fixed. ORIGINAL: Fresh from Elle Salon and I'm still so upset, so I'm documenting my experience here as an honest warning. I wanted to really like this place. I loved their website, price transparency and ease of booking an appt. Yuna was relatively meticulous with doing my balayage (except for one blunt weird spot on the back of my head) and tried to be nice to the end. That's all I can say that was good. Maybe others had a better experience, but be aware that they give a free service for following/liking on IG and/or posting on Yelp. I wanted to give a good review but I can't in good conscience and chose to write this after coming home because I just really wanted to leave ASAP after my experience. For the sake of this sad tale, I'm breaking it down into 2 treatment situations. 1ST Request: MUSHROOM BROWN. Result: Orangey brassy blond. Details: I booked an appt for today (1/2) to treat myself after not cutting or coloring it for some time (so it was virgin black hair). I simply wanted a cool mushroom brown lob. I emphasized multiple times that I wanted no brassy tones and wanted to keep it cool with plans to transition to silver later. I showed multiple inspo pics and even showed a zoomed in closeup of the color I wanted. Yuna took photos of my photos and took her time painting my hair w/bleach. When she showed me a color book with a platinum, I assumed it was the strength of bleach she was doing. I told her I wanted a darker color. After my hair was washed and they brought me to the mirror and attempted to style me and send me out---I realized that WAS "cool mushroom brown" to her. It was a weird orange blond color, which looks like someone else's in Elle's reviews on Yelp (I'm reposting it here too as I wish I took a picture of my 1st result). I told her I didn't expect it so yellow and asked for a darker color. They sent me to the wash station & told me to tell them what color I wanted. I was stressed as they were talking in Korean and maybe thought I was being extra while I was trying to research with AI for quick damage control since no colorist or person was offering help or giving me suggestions. 2ND Request: DARK ASH GRAY. Result: Pink with brassy undertones and strands of brassy blond. Details: I flagged someone & I told them I wanted "dark ash gray" and gave them my inspo pic. I told them I wanted cool tones and just wanted it to be less yellow. Yuna took my phone and brought it to someone at the front (the manager/colorist?) for mixing. After they applied it, washed my hair & brought me back to the mirror, they then told me they used purple and the manager/colorist person said (rather impatiently) that my picture had lavender (heck no, it's literally ash gray and caption on photo says ash gray) and they chose that color to cancel out my brassy hair (which again, I NEVER asked for!). I don't know much about color, but wouldn't non-red tones like blue have been a better choice? Ironically, after adding pink, my hair looked closer to the cool mushroom ash brown I initially wanted, but it still had brassy undertones. I was upset but just waited for them to dry and style my hair. When I got to the restroom to look, there were clearly still patches of bleached hair including a huge strand by my right ear with a brassy undertone all over my head. I pointed it out to Yuna at checkout and honestly told her I wasn't happy. Even she looked a bit shocked when I pulled out the bleached strand by my ear and showed it to her. She told me I could come back again in a week and she'd help me fix it for free. Right now, I'm still quite upset that I paid so much for something that was supposed to be a treat. Yuna did her best to be nice the whole time, but the results were not what I wanted. I wanted to avoid red and avoid brassiness and I ended up with both and splotchy bleached hair. Perhaps if you're Korean and can communicate better or want something simpler, you'll get better results, but I was not happy. I really wanted to like this place, I did.

In my life, i have only gotten compliments twice about my hair…read more Both times, it was when i got my haircut from this salon. I went in just wanting shorter hair. J had a vision for my hair and she executed it perfectly. I am so happy.

Went in for a magic perm + cut since over call she told me it'll be $250. She asked how much length…read morethe cut so I asked for a slight trim but she ended up chopping a large portion of my hair (make sure she cuts the RIGHT length u ask for). The perm procedure took place (slightly different from the traditional, normal straight perm process since she did the neutralizer step while my hair was soaking wet dipped in their washbowl.) She also cut my wet hair while it was still soaking wet immediately after rinsing my hair post the breaking bonds step, instead of blow drying and flat ironing it (other places cuts ur hair while its dry). After she blow dried my hair after the final rinse, she charged me $270, different from the price she gave me at the start of the process saying "haircut itself is like +$30." I won't ever be returning due to this scammy malpractice *** update below: I told her that I prefer English but doesn't mean my Korean sucks which would cause miscommunication in the pricing. I was never communicated in either Korean or English that the price was an estimate, I was given a solid price no range or the word "about" was used during the call. I was never informed before the service that there would be extra steps in the service due to my hair condition - this should have been communicated before so I can decide whether or not I'd be able to pay the extra $20, instead of receiving upcharge price after all those additional "steps & curls" which I never asked for. The curls could have been done with a curling iron myself after the cut + perm, I never asked for permanent curls. I never had a single bad of this experience at any hair salon. I am honestly hoping for a hair undo and refund/my money back if possible
