UPDATE:
As a mother and activist, I am forced to bring to your attention the abusive, ignorant, and downright offensive treatment she was subjected to by your staff--a Latina and a white woman who thoughtlessly shamed her for her natural hair texture.
My daughter is Puerto Rican and Black, and on that day, she was looking forward to a simple, straightforward hair trim. She had already done the work of detangling her own hair, spending hours beforehand to ensure it was ready for her appointment. Imagine her surprise when, instead of professionalism, she was met with sneers and told that her hair was a "rat's nest." They actually used those EXACT WORDS! Your staff made no attempt to lift a wide-tooth comb to her hair, no effort to gauge its texture, no willingness to treat her with the respect she deserved as a paying customer. Instead, they quickly rejected her, as if her very presence was offensive to them. My daughter is an intelligent and well respected MENSA member, kind, empathic, and was in utter SHOCK that they didn't have the people skills to convey they did not know how to handle her curls. She even politely tried to explain her texture to them, fighting back tears. She is a young girl who was raised to be a critical thinker and mindful of others. UNLIKE YOUR STAFF!
When her father went in to see what the issue was, he was told Supercuts "only cuts hair." So they cut without combing!? My daughter has been to other establishments and no one ever treated her this unkind. Their response was evasive, cowardly, and frankly, a reflection of a troubling culture that seems to reject those who don't conform to a narrow standard of beauty and hair type. Is this what Supercuts stands for? Is this the message you want to send?
Here's what you need to know: My daughter was humiliated in front of strangers. She was demeaned and made to feel "less than" because of her ethnicity and natural hair. This encounter has left her feeling deeply self-conscious, and as any good psychologist will tell you, such moments have a way of embedding themselves into a young person's psyche, sometimes for life. I hope you understand the gravity of the emotional impact here, because that damage--the damage of being made to feel unwelcome, inadequate, and "othered"--is on your hands now.
If this is not handled with swift, decisive, action, I am fully prepared to ensure that my daughter's story is heard far beyond the confines of this review. I am have a vast social network reach with a celebrity following, as I work in the entertainment industry. Think about the ripple effect on Supercuts' and your reputation--the story of a young girl treated as "unworthy" of basic respect, simply because of her heritage. This is not a story that fades quickly in the public mind.
I am demanding a detailed account of the corrective measures you will be taking. This should include a full apology, specific disciplinary actions against the employees involved, mandatory sensitivity and inclusivity training, and a transparent commitment to respecting diversity within your business. This incident is a stain on Supercuts' brand, but with the right actions, you have an opportunity to begin to repair it.
Failure to take these actions will not only confirm the discriminatory culture at Supercuts but will also invite the kind of public scrutiny that no reputable business wants or can afford.
You have an opportunity here: to show that you represent a business that upholds dignity and respect for all, or to confirm that such values are hollow words on a mission statement. The choice is yours. And the consequences of that choice will be on full display.

RACIST!!!! Do not come to this location! My autistic daughter who is of mixed race (Black and Rican) was told her curly mixed hair was a "rats nest" and the management did nothing! This will be escalated to corporate. She came home CRYING and distraught as she has NEVER been turned down by anyone before. They weren't even kind about it, they never bothered to so much as even take a comb to her hair. If you are inexperienced with curly hair or mixed/black women then SAY SO! I work in public relations and I am about to go PUBLIC with how my daughter was treated!!! If you are a person of color AVOID THIS PLACE!!! The staff is DISGUSTING!!!!! I will ensure with every fiber of my being that this will go public! Calling a young girl's hair A RAT'S NEST is extremely unprofessional! You are in the SERVICE INDUSTRY! Her hair is frizzy due to lack of product so she can get her hair trimmed, but to call it a rat's nest is INSANE!!!! YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO WORK HERE!!!! read more
