Everyone is always friendly, honest, respectful, and full of energy no matter what time of day you show up. They always listen to every concern you have with your hair. I think they have new management or new stylists, so some of the past reviews do not resonate today. I used to go to Supercuts in college and since have tried the gamut of super-pricey salons in NYC to reasonable, dependable family salons in Ithaca. Since I no longer color my hair, my options have opened up, so that at one point I just needed a haircut and couldn't get in to my regular place, so I tried them out. Confession, I'm not a "hair person", but still, I know what I like and it's important that my stylist listens, looks at my hair and, like, tries. Welp, I've been 5x now and worked with three stylists. There are some really talented and kind people here. My family members have begun to go as well. We check in online and wait less than 10 minutes, then have lunch at Tai Chi or DiBella's. They are nice, friendly to everyone and work their a$$es off. Give them a try. read more

We're the black is wear the bangs end one ending to the top of my eyebrow and one ending to the bottom of my nose! And the back looked so and we had to spend 40$ to fix the issue making me have a whole different haircut and full bangs! Will never be going here again! read more

I have been to Supercuts Ithaca a half a dozen times now. I live in Manhattan. My stylist here is 10x better than the place I go in West Village when I'm in a pinch and can't make it to Ithaca in time. I highly recommend Josh for color. The rest of the staff is getting trained on color as well, which is awesome, but frankly I am already addicted and have to use Josh. Josh uses techniques on my hair that a typical salon wouldn't bother doing because they want people in and out. I always get a color and cut and sometimes I pick up my shampoo / conditioner when Josh twists my arm. We have a plan for what I'm doing with my hair. And he fixes what my other salon messes up. I've been a regular customer for some time but now I have decided to never go to this place after Cailyn, the hairdresser charged me an exorbitant 120$ for a service for which she charged 80$ on at least two previous occasions.and no explanation given. These guys do not tell you beforehand how much they will charge for a service and it is all left to their whims and fancies. On top of that Cailyn denied at first that she had ever charged 80$ for the same service before and argued she had always charged 120$. When I went and showed my credit card receipts, the story changed and it became "Oh it was an error when we charged $80 instead of $120. In fact, we should be charging you $170." Another stylist Misty in the salon rudely said "Oh Cailyn was being nice to you when she charged $80." Point is these guys are not professional. The only reason they are in business is that they take in walk-in customers. There are other salons like Satori in Ithaca where the hairdressers are perpetually booked weeks in advance because they charge just $50-80 for fabulous services and even offer drinks of your choice! I guess, I must make the effort to book at Satori beforehand instead of suffering the whims and insolent behavior of Supercuts staff. read more

Arrived at 6pm, and both hair stylists were too wrapped up to check me in so I sat at the bench for 20 minutes before I had to call over one of them to let them know I was there. The person who checked me in didn't tell me how long my wait would be, leading me to believe it would be short, especially since there were only two other people in the lobby with me. But I went on to wait for an hour and a half before deciding to just get up and leave. Slowest service I've ever seen. Don't bother coming in unless you have multiple hours to spare for a simple haircut. read more

The haircutter wouldn't give me what I wanted. He insisted I didn't really want the haircut I said I wanted. On top of that, he cut my hair extremely unevenly, so now I have to get a second haircut for the style I want and to fix the butchering job that was done to me. He also charged me for a wash, cut, and dry even though I only got a cut and dry. read more

I was waiting for an appointment with the doctor at place right next door and needed a haircut. I knew I needed to waste time but couldn't go all the way to fineline where I normally get my haircut. So I decided to get it cut at Supercuts and the woman who cuts my hair does it in 5 or so minutes it looks horrible and she's constantly stopping to pick up the phone. I've had countless blow outs over the years and while places like Supercuts are not Frederick Fekkai --and I get that-- there is still a basic set of skills you need to rent a chair on even the humblest salon floor. Men stay away! I was squeezed in between appointments even though I called ahead the woman only used the clippers on my whole head and didn't blend with scissors at all. It looks like a haircut from Nazi era Germany! I understand everyone has to start somewhere but at least take your time and do it right or don't do it at all. Never go here. Needed a haircut because I have a presentation in a few days and couldn't get home to the person who normally cuts my hair. Asked for the same haircut I've gotten for two years, a 0-1 fade and two fingers with scissors on top, resulted in the worst haircut of my entire life. Even when I was telling the lady what to do to fix my botched head she still ruined it. I was speechless. Lady couldn't figure out how to blend the line on the ONE side she actually attempted to fade so I gave up. Plus, was being made fun of for asking if they knew how to cut Asian hair. I've been to several places for haircuts for me and the kids and I've had a pretty good experience here. I'd never go regularly for me, but they've done great jobs with my kids. My 3 year old got a great cut here and so did my 18 month old. I would totally recommend for kids, they're patient and I was pretty happy with the results. Although I wouldn't go back here for myself. I've had the best haircut here since moving to Ithaca. That's not saying much for Ithaca, but I'll keep looking, I will find someone to cut my hair! read more

My husband had his hair cut here yesterday....HUGE MISTAKE!! He said he thought he was her first client ever! She completely butchered his hair. Left tufts of hair on the sides, the back of his head looks like leopard spots and she never even cut one side of his head!!!! He didn't want to embarrass her but did have her shave off the random side tufts! Went somewhere else to have it fixed. Avoid at all costs. read more

I went to this Supercuts location in Ithaca on August 31 at 1:30 pm. I was told they could take me for a hair wash and blow dry in 45 minutes, that there were 4 people ahead of me, and that I could go do some errands. I came back about 40 minutes later and saw they were working on 3 people, and took one or two more. Realizing I lost my place because I left, I made sure I checked in again, and was then next on the list for service. Then a man sitting there spoke up and complained he had come in one hour before and was told it would be 30 minutes. I said so had I. I was next on the listing on their computer, but he said his hair was short and would only take 4 minutes. When the salon staff person called out, "next person," the man got up and I said, "who, me or him?" They let him cut ahead of me. I decided I didn't want this salon's services and left. They acted as though they couldn't have cared less, the entire time. Would never go back. read more

Supercuts is a great place to go for a hair cut. I have been going there for over a year and not only do I get a hair cut I also get my eyebrows waxed. I love the time and attention I get when I am in the stylist's chair. The products that are used on my hair are wonderful. Supercuts gets an A+ in my book! read more
