I told her to go ahead and eat, and that I wasnt in a hurry and that I relate to how she was feeling bc I also have low blood sugar. So I told her to go and eat lunch, I was patiently waiting while looking through magazines and hair products, I truly wasnt in a rush. Well she runs to the back, and seconds later she asks me to come sit in her chair. I commented on how quickly she ate lunch. She said that she just ate 2 cookies. Once again, I told her she can go sit down and eat, that i was fine. She dismissed it, and started playing around with my hair. She asked me what I wanted to do and I told her that I wanted layers and I wanted to take 4 inches off. She asked me, "Do I HAVE to shampoo you?" I had washed my hair the night before so I said not to worry about it, just use the spray bottle. So first she takes the length off that I wanted and asks me if I wanted just some face framing layers and I said yes, but I want all over layers too. She then responds with "Are you really going to make me do layers?" And then gave a tiny chuckle, and it honestly caught me off guard how extremely unprofessional she was being from the second I sat in her chair. It definitely felt like she just wanted me gone. Which was upsetting considering I was being very patient and encouraged her to take a lunch break. But instead she just half-assed my haircut the whole time... so I was like, yeah whatever just do the face framing layers. So shes running her shears down my hair and was tugging and pulling and I could see that she was fraying my hair. She was rushing... so finally at the end she asks me if I wanted it styled. I had already straightened my hair that morning so I asked her to just touch it up with a flat iron. Then shes like "actually it's still really straight". At that, I was just like, ok it's fine, and I asked her to take the Cape off and I went and paid and even left a tip, but I have never, in my 32 years of life, had a stylist so lazy, so unprofessional, and so ready to get rid of me. I would NOT recommend going to this salon. There are other stylists out there who actually want to do their jobs... save yourself the waste of time.

My haircut was clearly an unwelcome distraction, as my poorly and asymmetrically cut hair demonstrates. I left with sideburns uneven, random clumps of uncut hair, and the decidedly unpleasant memory of the loud cackling and chatter, interrupted only grudgingly by listless swipes of an electric trimmer. This is probably a great place to hear about some local women's ill-conceived fashion experiments and high school memories. For a haircut, not so much.

She confidently assured me that she understood and would have no problem doing it. I felt like she truly understood and knew what she was doing. The process took 5 hours. This was a bit concerning, because my hair stylist in NC took no more than two hours on the regular, sometimes 3 for special things. Believe me, sticker shock doesn't begin to describe how I felt, when I saw the price. It was $187. However, I thought it may be more expensive here. the lighting was not really good, so I could not tell if it looked ok, until I came home. When I saw my hair in my mirror and my lighting, I was mortified. I told her that I absolutely did not want anything that looked gold or red. That is exactly what she did. In five hours, she was unable to do the job she promised. I decided to let her know how I felt, even though I would normally have said nothing. She made me another appointment. Some small voice told me to not go back, but I believed that she did not do her job, certainly not a $187 job. However, I ignored that voice and returned. Well, I learned that I need to listen to that voice. She went over the color I wanted, and she looked at the pictures again. She, again, assured me that she understood. She then had me look at some type of hair color swatch and appeared unsure what I wanted. I pointed out the absolute lightest color. With four additional hours in her chair, I was praying that she actually knew what she was doing. I could not have been more wrong. When I saw the end result, I was near tears. The insult to injury quickly followed, when I was told that I owed over $200 for this job. I paid it, so I could just leave and go cry in my car. With tip included, I paid her nearly $500. I still do not have what I wanted, and I am scared to trust anyone else. Honestly, the allure of the "high end" appearance gives you a sense of security. It is a facade. I probably could have gone to a mall hair place and gotten better results. I am ready to drive 15 hours back to NC, where I am positive the stylist knows what they are doing. Also, my stylist would never charge me to fix something she messed up. That just magnified the horror, knowing I could not go somewhere and have it fixed, due to the damage that it would do to my hair. I do not want anyone else to have this happen to them, which is why I am writing this. I do not recommend, in fact, I caution you to not go anywhere near this salon.

The staff are experts in their fields, all the staff members I interacted with were beyond knowledgable, friendly, and easy to talk to. There was no stuffy or pressured atmosphere. The building was tastefully decorated, clean, and inviting. They have a beautiful outdoor courtyard area. I initially wanted 2 get a couples massage with my husband but ended up getting a pedicure while he got a massage since they are not set up to do couples massages and no regrets here!
