It's time to brighten things up. My first time there was with a new stylist on their team. I wasn't pleased with the color or cut, as mentioned in my prior review. Promptly after that review, I received an unexpected call from Christina, the owner of Bondi Salon. She was determined to make sure I was pleased with the services I received. It was several months before I was able to return however, she honored her promise for me to have a positive salon experience. Cam did my highlights, then Christina cut and styled my hair. I'm so pleased with the way my hair looks and feels! Their decor is modern, comfortable and clean. Bondi Salon has a dedicated new customer. Christina, Thank You for caring! It was the lightest shade, but it was super not it. Maybe I am just not a spray tan person, idk- but it was no bueno. It was sticky for a long time, even after showering. I will admit... I was kind of a "know it all" towards the woman who did my makeup, so I apologize for that. She was really sweet, and I really appreciate that. The makeup turned out to be okay... the jaw contour she did on me was AMAZING but you couldn't really see my eyeshadow. I had to fix a few things myself. The hairstylist kinda scared me, lol. Pretty stubborn. Not someone you'd want to mess with. Anyways, as for my experience with her services, it wasn't too bad. She said that I had a lot of dead hair and asked if she could cut like six inches off, which I said yes to. I appreciated that- I'm glad that she noticed that. It shows intentionality... even though she was super angry about it. When I asked for a blowout, though, all she did was straighten it. The hair stayed straight throughout the night, though. That was nice. I did not go back. For the price paid, it was not worth it for me. Maybe this place will work for other women, but it doesn't work for me. I brought my 2.5 year old in a few weeks ago and it was a horrible experience for both of us. Maybe our stylist was having a bad day, but even if she was, she took it out on a 2.5 year old. We came in and she showed us the seat. She wanted him to sit alone but he asked if he could sit in my lap. This was the first thing that seemed to annoy her. From there, it just got worse. She made zero attempt to build any rapport or talk to him. She didn't consult me at all about what type of haircut we wanted. him. He was pretty squirmy and she just started to give him a buzz with clippers. I said, "woah, that's pretty short" (though the damage has already been done a few seconds in) and she said "there's no way I'm using scissors on this kid" If she would have said, "look I'm only going to use clippers" I would have respected that and tried to find a new place. He screamed much of the time and she didn't relent. No breaks, no "are you okay" nothing. I tried to calm him down and pacify him, but agin, he's 2.5 years old. Once kids that age are in a tough spot emotionally it takes a while to calm them down. By the end he was crying. He had hair in his mouth, in his eyes and she was the furthest thing from sympathetic. It was truly and awful experience. I will never return. Not as an adult and certainly not with kids. Maybe other staff is better with kids but all it takes is one bad experience. And this was terrible.
