This was the worst haircut experience I've ever had in my life with Bernadette at Supercuts in Green Valley. I have long straight hair that I wanted some length off of and long layers put in, which is the same haircut I have gotten for the past 5+ years. The first red flag was when she insisted that I needed to wet my hair in the sink before she could cut it. She told me she needed to take me back to wash my hair, and I said I had just washed it and if we could do the cut dry. She told me that if she cut my hair dry it would turn out choppy and my hair would be too staticky for her to work on and it would make her job too difficult. Even though every haircut I have had for the past 5+ years has been a dry cut and turned out perfectly fine, I figured she was the "professional" so I agreed to let her wet it in the sink. She soaked my hair in the sink and then when I got back to the chair she took a small, fine tooth comb and proceeded to brush my long wet hair from top to bottom. She as a hair dresser should know that is exactly how you do NOT brush hair. As a hairdresser she should know how to properly brush out hair. She roughly started ripping out my hair from top to bottom with a small comb, which obviously caused my hair to become full of tangles, which she then proceeded to rip out of my head. When she finally showed me a piece of my hair I was in shock at how quickly she had made it look so damaged, I have never seen my hair look that way in my life. The part that upset me the most was when she held up a piece of my hair to me and asked if I bleach my hair, which I told her I did not. She then proceeds to take her comb and rip out a chunk of my hair in front of my eyes and then say, "I don't know why your hair just keeps falling out". NO, my hair was not "falling out" she was ripping it out with her comb! I went in with perfectly healthy, detangled hair that she had completely tangled up and ripped several chunks out of in less than 10 minutes. I was in disbelief at how horribly she was treating my hair. Then she tries to blow dry my hair after I told her I never brush my hair when its wet. After blow drying my soaking wet hair for 5 minutes, which obviously didn't make a difference, she finally tries to use an actual brush on my hair after I told her I normally use a wet brush on it. Again, she proceeds to brush my already knotted hair from top to bottom, which obviously created even more tangles. Once she realized what a mess she had made of my hair and that it would now take her a long time to fix, she told me she would have to hand me off to another girl because she had a color appointment coming in and she "didn't realize this would take so long". Well it wouldn't have taken long at all if she had listened to her client from the beginning when I told her I wanted it cut dry. If she really doesn't know how to dry cut hair then she should not even be a hair dresser? I was so upset and in shock at how rudely I had been treated and how she had managed to ruin and rip out my perfectly healthy hair in such a short period of time that I got up to leave without even getting a haircut. Bernadette never once apologized for damaging my hair or for ripping it out with her comb, and instead only accused me of my hair being damaged and said that it was "falling out". My hair most definitely was not damaged or falling out when I walked in. I've never been so upset by a haircut and the lack of professionalism in my life, and will definitely never be going back to Supercuts. If you live in the Green Valley/Sahuarita area I highly recommend Great Clips instead. Great priced haircuts with professionals who actually know what they are doing and treat clients with respect. Not to mention the hair dresser who cut my hair at Great Clips said she always dry cuts hair when putting in layers so that she can actually see what it looks like. She gave me a dry cut, was super gentle when brushing my hair, and did it all within 20 minutes. read more
