This time I looked at google reviews first (I am so glad). Renee did such an amazing Job. (I am loyal to my hairdresser and I love everything she does. I realized I couldn't wait until next week.) I get nervous because my hair is coarse, thick, wavy and unruly. Renee took ten minutes examine the cut and telling me where it was texturized (not layered). lol I get confused. She was so personable. I heard her being asked about color recommendations and advice by other stylists. She really knows so much. About what brands of colors are probably being used elsewhere to achieve colors etc. I was very impressed. Renee was easy to talk with and I felt the headache I had all day from stress begin to ebb ... she didn't try to push product, but recommended something I liked when asked. She also had an open bottle and made sure the scent was ok for me. We had a previous conversation about scent sensitivities. I wholeheartedly recommend Renee for complex women's cuts and color. I am pretty reluctant to recommend hairdressers other than my own.

It's National Cancer Survivor Day. My hair has been falling out. I scheduled appointments here to celebrate me. They canceled last minute. Very poor business. Would NEVER recommend. Or come back. Which is a shame because they had been serving my entire family. NEVER AGAIN Edited to add: very weird that one of the higher ups for this salon just called me to tell me that one stylist canceled because she had a medical emergency in the salon that morning (what are the chances) and the other moved to Florida. Why are you canceling an appointment I made more than a week in advance because the stylist is in Florida? Did she up and decide to walk there the morning? I was not offered anything to fix the situation. No other stylist. No other day. Don't be calling me because of my reviews. You'll end up here again, as you can see. Very very weird business. Now I wish I could give even less than a 1.

This was my first time ever coloring my hair, so I relied heavily on the stylist's professional…read morerecommendation and expertise. I came in wanting brighter blonde with more lift and dimension, but was advised (color by Karol) to do balayage instead of traditional highlights. Unfortunately, the end result was extremely warm and the brightness sat far too low, with little brightness near the root or around the face frame -- not at all the look I had communicated I wanted, or the look I showed through inspiration pictures. What's especially frustrating is that I voiced concerns DURING the appointment. While my hair was being foiled and while it was being cut, I mentioned that it did not seem like enough brightness or placement to achieve the result I wanted. Looking back, it also made very little sense that the haircut was completed after the balayage placement, because additional length removed would have essentially cut off much if not all of the color that had just been added (cut with Raquel). After the appointment, I immediately sent extensive messages expressing my concerns and asking for help correcting the issue. Instead of feeling heard or supported, I felt the responsibility was turned back on me, despite trusting the stylist's recommendation as someone with no prior hair coloring experience. What also left a bad impression was how strongly I was pushed to come back into the salon for another appointment rather than having any meaningful conversation about resolution over the phone. It felt less like they wanted to genuinely address the issue and more like they wanted me back in the chair where I would feel pressured to simply agree to whatever "fix" and charges were presented to me. Which is essentially what ended up happening. To make matters worse, I was ultimately required to pay FULL PRICE AGAIN to fix a mistake that was not mine. Neither the stylist nor the salon owner were willing to meaningfully negotiate or work toward a fair resolution, and I was charged full price for both appointments. In the span of two weeks and the entirety of two Saturdays, I spent a total of $585 FOR HIGHLIGHTS trying to achieve a result that should have been done correctly the first time. I understand hair services can vary, but professionalism also includes accountability and customer service when expectations clearly are not met. Sadly, this experience left me feeling dismissed, frustrated, and unsupported as a first-time color client.

This time I do have a complaint... DO NOT GO TO THE HAIR…read moreSTUDIO ON 4TH ON SOUTH SIDE BETHLEHEM!! I went there to get my hair colored purple on May 23, 2018 for the first time. The girl who colored it was there alone. She, apparently, thought she used a permanent, locked in color, as I specifically asked and was told it was. The cost for a double process? $ 130.00...okay fine...my friend paid for it as a gift for me...within less than one week, Wednesday to Sunday, a total of 3 washes, the color was completely gone! So, when they reopened on Tuesday, I called and spoke to the manager. She said I had "porous" hair and that's probably why it had washed out, but agreed to redo the color. So, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, I went back for a recolor. I was told by the manager at this point that the stylist was mistaken, that the previous color used was only semi permanent (although even that should still have lasted 26-30 washes). But that on this day, a permanent, Matrix color would be used. So, I go home with purple color again. I purchased special matrix brand shampoo and conditioner from the salon (even though I had used Pantene color lock shampoo the previous coloring) , to ensure it would stay in longer and the following Friday even went to a different salon (as they don't carry this) and purchased a specially made color depositing conditioner to use between shampoos. Well, you guessed it...in 4 washes, it was out again!!! I called and spoke with the manager again, asking for a refund, which she refused. She first said that the stylist used a locked in color, then back peddled and said it was again a different b4and, but semi permanent color used the second time. Her only solution was that she would go out and "purchase a permanent locked in purple color as,we don't carry it here at the salon". As it was my only recourse, I agreed. My friend who paid for it is from Pittsburgh. She called yesterday to demand a refund. The manager refused to take the call. So she called again and spoke with her today. She is still refusing a refund, and is today again saying it was a permanent color used and it is my hairs fault the color came out within 4 washes!!! This is complete and utter bs!! We paid $130.00 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! The manager was supposed to call me when she picked up the "new permanent color", which she never even went to get. So, now, my only recourse is to call out the salon on their poor quality and even worse customer service and satisfaction! I now need to go elsewhere and pay again to get my hair colored a 3rd time. My sister has a wedding coming up and I'd love for this to be settled way before this happens... Please if you can, copy and share this! (Idk how to make this shareable) Do not waste your hard earned money getting services at this salon. Satisfaction is NOT guaranteed!
