When I tried to call in and make an appointment for someone, the person who answered the phone said they were busy and didn't know when they would have an opening. I arrived at the location at 4:43 pm. The sign says they close at 5. They had just finished cutting people's hair. They had no customers at 4:45. They said they we're not taking anyone else. My (white) dad used to take me here when I was a kid. I'm biracial and I have very thick and curly hair. When I used to go, the workers in this salon had no idea how to treat my textured hair. They would audibly complain while doing my hair and remark about how thick and hard to manage my natural hair is. As a kid it made me feel pretty bad about myself. All these women had straight and easy to manage hair, and just had no idea what to do with curly, non-white hair. All my haircuts were unflattering to my hair type too. First of all, this review does not include Oh. She did a fantastic job on my hair, and is the only reason I "TRIED" to come back. This is all about customer service. A little history: I showed up one day, 1-2 years ago, to get a cut. Was told, even though there was no other customer in the store, that I would have to wait at least an hour, because other customers had checked in online ahead of me. This happened to me twice. 2 months ago, on a whim, I just walked in, and was seated immediately. Oh cut my hair, and did a great job! This morning, I decide I need to get my hair shaped up. I checked in on-line for a 10:00 a.m. cut, so I wouldn't have any drama. I was wrong. I was asked, by the receptionist, to return at 12:00. No can do. What is up with that? If yelp has negative stars I will give one of their staff One of the staff tried to lighten the situation and offered to compensate for a free haircut which I understand especially she was with another customer, but it don't work for me! Trying to tell me it will be okay after a week! A week?!! I didnt come for ' a week later haircut'. As if this was the first time i had my hair cut this short. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and explained my hair concerns (dry, frizzy and tends to get heavy and full at the sides). She was on the mark with how to cut my hair to minimize these issues. At one point, she asked me to check her work so that she can address any areas that I would like her to touch up. She also shared her knowledge on the various oil treatments that are good for my hair condition and I plan to follow her recommendations! To sum up, she is very personable, listens attentively to what a customer wants and then delivers to meet your request. This is the second time I've taken my son here to get his hair cut. I thought maybe the first time was a fluke and they were having an "off" day. The friendliness factor is basically zero. Customer service could definitely be improved upon. Those of us who were waiting in the waiting area were not impressed with the wait times or their organization system. They have a computerized check-in system that they use but if you are not already aware of it then you will be out of luck because they do not explain it to you upon arriving. The haircut my son received was okay. Therefore, I will leave 2 stars based on that. Another day by not being put into the system. I called around 10-10:30am for an appointment at 11:30am. I have to check my phone again... possible 11:00 am at the latest. I set my alarms and proceeded to the location. I got inside and almost sat down. Another lady asked about my time and I said for 11:30am. They told me that I wasn't even close to being inside the system. They said you must wait until 12:30 before Nora takes you. This isn't the first time the lady with the accent never put me in. She's the same one that picked up last week and yesterday. This is nothing against Nora. Nora is my top choice in my hair cuts. But, why would I wake up from my actual sleep just to go to a location to be rejected?????? This is the closest location to me and Nora is the only one I wait for( nothing against Nora) this is against the other one with the accent. How do I know it was the other one, because when you pick up the phone you'll be able to tell if someone speaks differently. Last time they did this, they took me in right away but this time they said we have never heard of you. I have to drive to work. Again this is nothing towards Nora. Nora does an amazing job, so amazing that I wait like a loyal dog. You guys need to step up the communication, maybe even call people back or put a quick note down before you forget to put a name on the board. I usually have an understanding but today was not the day. I have a schedule that you guys messed up yet I'm getting nothing back in return. This place has zero knowledge of good customer service. My 2 boys needed hair cuts and the people here looked absolutely annoyed. They looked like it was such an inconvenience to do THERE JOB! I moved to discovery bay first of February, since then I have been using super cuts for my self and my family. As one of the reviewers mentioned, it's a quick cut, nothing fancy. I experienced some issues before but it wasn't worth a review. But now it is: They have a computerized system that you self check in your self, I did that, then the lady told me it is going to be about 15 minutes as she just started a guy and the second lady had a girl. I said ok, I will check Safeway and comeback before the 15 minutes and she agreed. When I came back, both were finishing up their clients, so I thought to me self good now it is mem. But I was surprised when the first one finished, she called a guy she knows without checking the system as I definitely before him. I thought maybe she considered the other lady to do me. Then the other lady finished and called someone else as well without checking their system. So I stood up, no one cared and left. I had to call them back to tell them this is disrespectful and I will never come back me and my family, obviously they have enough customers that they didn't care. So I promised my self to make sure everyone knows they will not care about you unless they personally know u, and then u will be served ahead of someone they don't know.
