She is soooooo good with my handtied extensions. They are always perfect, done in a timely manner, and last longer than anyone who's ever done them in the past. Chelsea is ALWAYS on time and always does such a great job while also not taking hours and hours out of my day. Always professional, sweet, and makes sure to fill me in on any new products that will help me with the after care of my hair . I would highly recommend her to anyone . She also stays up to date on her education, taking online classes while working two full time jobs. Leah gave me the most luxurious mani + pedi and it wasn't ridiculously over priced like mediocre nail salons. She was extremely accommodating and made sure I was comfortable. I went here on a Friday afternoon (appointment made ahead) for a gel manicure. The nail technician was Lea(h). I didn't see how her name is spelled on the paperwork or receipts, etc. She did a very good job and was friendly, but also okay with silence. I liked their appointment text reminders and the friendly reception/greeting. Their location was great in Discovery Bay with a good parking lot and plenty of parking. The interior was very clean and I appreciated the first time "tour" with the receptionist who walked me to the nail room. They have an esthetician, waxing and a hair salon. I had chosen this place because it was recommended to me and I felt that it would utilize full sanitization and other cleanliness protocols, which was definitely evident from the sanitized and sealed tools, spotless manicure and pedicure tables/chairs, clean bathroom, nitrile gloves properly used and changed, etc. For Covid there was a request to wash your hands (should be standard anyway!) and wear a mask. There was also a plastic barrier set up between you and the technician with space for your hands. It minimally got in the way of maneuvering your hands with the gel curing light. I had planned on removing the gel myself first because all places rush it a bit in my opinion (using metal tools or a strong file to scrape it off) , but I was visiting my parents and had left my removal kit at my apartment, so when I arrived they kindly accommodated the additional time to do the removal process. It was slightly less rushed than a standard nail salon but still more rushed than I personally like. In all fairness, it was a last minute thing and I didn't feel that my nails looked damaged from it. Overall she was very meticulous with the gel portion and they came out pretty great!! I think I didn't quite feel 5 stars because the filing could've been done more cleanly, it is a bit uneven on some fingers, and some of the gel went a bit past the nail so I fear it may peel up or chip faster from that since it may catch on my hair or thin object and snag. These are minor things overall and I am very pleased with how it came out! I would still very much recommend getting a nail service here. :) Cost was also pricier though. Which is another factor that may influence a decision for all of us. It was $55 for a gel manicure. This was before tip. They DO take cards which is nice. This was just before they announced the December 6th shutdown so they will be closed again for about a month or so... She came into the salon this evening with an appointment with Julia C. and was informed that she does not cut short hair? Which is interesting because she has done my mothers hair in the past. As you can imagine the uncomfortable situation, she walked out. I wanted to make you aware how unprofessional this came across. If a stylist is hair length specific that should be asked when booking an appointment not when the client is in the chair. It is a complete disrespect of customer service and lack of communication. Lux & Blvd is a nice little oasis in a nondescript strip mall in Discovery Bay. It's a little confusing on how to get into the salon part and not the barbershop part, but once you enter in they have a nice Gothic industrial vibe going on. This is my first time there, all the latest hair salon technology, seats are comfortable, you can get a tan, pedicure, your nails done, and a massage while you're there. My stylist Rani was amazing, I've been getting my hair done for 20 years and this young lady rocked it! My hair typically pulls yellow/bronze and she did a fabulous job making sure I came out with some natural looking blond highlights and low lights! Loved it!!! Little pricey for a new salon, but the stylists there seem to really know their trade! I'll be back!! read more

So first i need to talk about Madi and then i will talk about the salon. Madi, is... AMAZING. She has been cutting my hair for awhile now and has never failed to give me the perfect blonde, and cut my hair exactly how i want. I cant speak for brunettes (although i'm willing to bet shes just as amazing) but from personal experience if you are a blonde, you need to book with Madi! On top of the quality of her work, she is always kind, makes you feel comfortable and you can really tell her genuine goal is to have you leave the chair feeling 100% satisfied, when you feel good, you can see that she feels good and takes pride in her work! Now the salon.... when I heard Madi was going to be starting at this brand new salon i was very excited for her, and i would follow her to wherever she was going to be but when i started to see pictures of the salon online..... i was COMPLETELY blown away! I went to the grand opening and it was even better in person, this place is gorgeous. You can tell the owner didn't want to just throw together a few things and call it a salon. EVERY room, and every single thing is perfect. It feels very high class, very trendy and well organized. Apart from Madi, Kelly greeted me at the front desk, was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable, and offered me a beverage until Madi was available to see me at her chair. I give one star because the front desk assistant made me feel guilty for how they charged me which was completely out of left field. I had a lovely esthetician, but after the fact I paid for two of the same facials, one was 40 minutes and the other was an hour. After that she said that they accommodated me because the facial was for someone else and that they normally don't do men. However, if that was the case the they should have told me upfront instead of after making me feel even more uncomfortable spending my money there. Honestly not worth my money or time.
