In a move toward general self-improvement, I decided to up my eyebrow game. I had been mostly going…read moreto nail salons and getting it done pretty cheap and while the results weren't necessarily bad they weren't all that consistent either. The wax-ists at the nail places tend to favor a thinner brow shape than I generally prefer for myself. I have naturally thick brows and what I'm really looking for is a cleaned-up version of my natural shape with the bushiness under control. It was thanks to Yelp that I found Cora. I liked the idea of going to an actual aesthetician since the goal was doing something a little nice for myself every 4-6 weeks. The salon space is small, really in the lower level of a building under a coffee shop. If it weren't for the sign out front I might have missed it. It's not that far from where I live so I'm not making my little ritual into a difficult errand. Cora is really nice and works with my schedule. I do a brow and lip wax and the price is really reasonable. I have gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows, including from people who either haven't seen me in years or don't normally notice eyebrows. Cora doesn't make them too thin or lop off the tail end on the left side like some of the other places were doing. I get to keep my "natural" look but look polished at the same time. I'm really glad I found this place.

Very good at distracting you from the waxing process and the space is calming and nicely decorated. I had never had hard wax used before, but I like it and she works great with it! She is very on point when it comes to appointments (schedule through an app that reminds you via text/email/etc.) which is handy when you're doing it several weeks out in advance. The location (since right in downtown MKE) gets a little bit difficult when it comes to parking sometimes, but is totally manageable. Will be a return client for quite a while!

I was never told what type I was receiving, nor was I told there was a price difference of $30! The actual cost isn't that big of a deal because I was planning on tipping around that anyways. Not being upfront about it bothered me! As far as the massage, it basically was a rub down! Nothing deep about, I just received a very basic rub down that went around the whole body, despite asking me what areas I wanted addressed, there was no focus on my neck and back on the right side like I asked. All in all it was a fine relaxing rub down. But then to be told at the end there was a $30 balance was BS! It truthfully really put me a bad mood. Be upfront explain the choices!
