The employees are actually runners themselves and are very knowledgeable. The staff at FF take the necessary time working with each individual customer, trying on multiple styles and brands of shoes to ensure the customer is leaving with best possible shoe to meet their needs. This is important since my favorite brands seem to make changes from year to year that impacts the "feel/fit" and have me looking for alternatives in other brands. The last several times we have purchased shoes at FF, Greg waited on us and did a fabulous job! It's very reassuring when someone (me) who doesn't necessarily "look" like a runner, is given the same quality of service as those who resemble the stereotypical runner. Recently added to FF is the new computerized scan of the feet prior to fitting. This was amazing and the data/images are reviewed to help assist in shoe selection. FF carries a nice variety of proven running shoes at a reasonable price. Yes, you may find similar brands online or at large sporting goods stores a little cheaper, but you will not receive the specialized treatment and fitting which is essential for runners. So, save $10+ dollars somewhere else and get "ok" shoes or pay the money and leave knowing you have purchased the most appropriate shoe for you personally. In addition to the shoes, FF carries socks, clothing, nutrition and hydration items. While FF is a nationally known brand, the Mechanicsburg store is owned and operated locally and maintains an active role in supporting the local running community. There were a handful of hiccups through the return process but the young lady who was helping me did everything she could to make it go smoothly as possible. She had come back-and-forth about the return but wasn't memorable until it came time to locate my missing shoe. I asked them if they had the shoe in store because they were unable to locate it amongst the online pick ups, she told me no and that the shoes were in Lancaster after some confusion and back-and-forth I said give me a minute. I walked away and immediately walked to the shoes, picked them up, brought them to the register and said "you lied! Not only do you have the shoes but you have a good number of them!" She was more content with allowing me to drive all the way to Lancaster to pick up the shoes rather than do her job and walk over to the children's section in her store and correct the issue. She was incredibly snarky, condescending, incredibly rude and was absolutely no help at all. The young lady at the register was visibly uncomfortable by her snarkiness and rudeness toward me. When I called her out on it she simply replied "it's my job", to which I informed her that her job is to be of assistance, none of which she has been and that I did her job for her by locating the missing shoes she then proceeded to tell me "good job want a raise?" She then told me that I could purchase the shoes I found in store because the ones I paid for were in Lancaster (although my pick up information said Camp Hill). If it weren't for the cashier who got on the phone with Lancaster and took care of the miscommunication, I would have either left with two shoes although paying for three or would have had to pay for a fourth pair of shoes while still not having the "missing shoe" Jillian alone is reason enough that I will no longer purchase from DSW
