My hair was down to my collar, and Sue took great care of me. She was professional, welcoming, and very accommodating. I walked out actually looking and feeling like a new man, which doesn't happen often these days. The entire staff was friendly and made the experience relaxed and comfortable. The shop itself has a strong sports theme, which I really enjoyed--especially since my favorite team, the Wolverines, were front and center. There are a couple of TVs in front of you while the barbers work, plus easygoing conversation that makes the time fly by. I've been to places that slap the word "barbershop" on the door and think posters and attitude make up for skill. DB's proves that a real barbershop is about knowing how to cut hair, keeping up with current styles, and treating customers right. This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last.

Walking in it took me back to when I was a kid. As I sat down and waited my turn I looked around and saw an old school barbershop with antlers hanging on the wall and a wood stove heating the place. In terms of the haircut, it is just as I remembered pre hairdresser and chain haircut places. Natale is a skilled barber who employs the scissors, clippers, and straight razor to make sure that your hair, beard, eyebrows, and neckline is taken care of before you leave. He is a 1 chair barber so day and time will dictate how long you wait. This will be my new barber moving forward.

The shop is super nice, very welcoming and relaxed, and they take really good care of you while you're there. I got home afterward and realized that one of the things I wanted done didn't actually look how I thought it would. It shouldn't come as a surprise that they've been open over 40 years at this location. Apparently, they were going to have to close the doors for good not long ago, but they found how long time owner of The business next-door who decided to buy the place. It definitely does feel like a neighborhood Barber Shop. But, enough about the architecture in the history: let's talk about the haircut. The cut I got was exactly what I wanted, and it only cost $13 (she did such a good job and I gave her a tip to make it $20, and that's still a lot cheaper than you'd pay anywhere else). When I was there, there was a guy with his dog; the dog sensed that I had dogs, and jumped in my lap. Yes, it's that kind of laid-back place where everybody's a friend, and where they don't seem to mind adding you to the list of friends.
