This was my first visit to DB's in Wyandotte, and honestly, I wish I'd found them sooner. I've…read morelived in Southgate for just over five years and have tried several so-called barbers in the area. In my opinion, DB's outdoes all of them--and for a lot less money. My hair was down to my collar, and Sue took great care of me. She was professional, welcoming, and very accommodating. I walked out actually looking and feeling like a new man, which doesn't happen often these days. The entire staff was friendly and made the experience relaxed and comfortable. The shop itself has a strong sports theme, which I really enjoyed--especially since my favorite team, the Wolverines, were front and center. There are a couple of TVs in front of you while the barbers work, plus easygoing conversation that makes the time fly by. I've been to places that slap the word "barbershop" on the door and think posters and attitude make up for skill. DB's proves that a real barbershop is about knowing how to cut hair, keeping up with current styles, and treating customers right. This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last.

Walking in it took me back to when I was a kid. As I sat down and waited my turn I looked around and saw an old school barbershop with antlers hanging on the wall and a wood stove heating the place. In terms of the haircut, it is just as I remembered pre hairdresser and chain haircut places. Natale is a skilled barber who employs the scissors, clippers, and straight razor to make sure that your hair, beard, eyebrows, and neckline is taken care of before you leave. He is a 1 chair barber so day and time will dictate how long you wait. This will be my new barber moving forward.

I really only have one problem with the place. I'm only ever available to get my hair cut on Saturdays. The sign on the door says they're open until five on Saturday. One day I showed up before four and they were locked up. I came by a different Saturday at exactly four. The guy had someone in his chair but turned to me and said they were closed at four despite what the hours on the door indicate. It's his business. He can do what he likes. If he didn't make it so difficult to actually get in and get a cut he'd have a much better review from me. The first time I went there the place was great.
