I just moved to the area in July 2016 and finding a haircut place is one of the hardest things to…read moredo. Thankfully Yelp helped me find a place that is both good for me and my son. I've come in here twice now with my son. We always go on the weekends when Sam and Jay are there. My son who is extremely shy, on his first visit sat by himself with Sam and got his haircut, while I got my haircut at the same time. Doesn't sound like much, but he has never done it before. Always makes me sit there with him while he gets his haircut. He told me he thought Sam was cool and had a cool accent. They also gave my son an iPad to play with if he got bored. There are also a foosball table and air hockey table in the waiting area if your kids get bored. All of the games are free to play as well as four iPads to play with in the waiting area. My son doesn't want to leave after getting his haircut because he wants to play more air hockey with the other kids. I had my hair cut by Jay and he also does a great job. My son and I both have hard parts with the line and this place has done it the best both times. Both my son and I have gotten numerous positive compliments on our cuts from here. I'd recommend calling ahead and asking for Sam if you have children. He does a great job. Jay is also great for kids, but he has only cut my hair never my sons. So it's not that I'm not recommending him he just has never cut my sons hair. I also printed out some coupons from the Arcade Cuts main website and they had no problem honoring them. Definitely worth it to check out if you are looking for a new place.

I've been coming here monthly for about a year now. While the other reviewer said that you must…read morechoose an individual stylist on the computer sign-in (you can), there is in fact a 'first available' button that will just put you in the queue for whoever becomes available. I think the big leather rocking chairs, pool table, and big tvs in the waiting area are certainly better than stackable metal chairs and old hair magazines at your neighborhood family haircut place. The stylists are definitely well-maintained but it's certainly not a hooters of haircutting. Being friendly is just normal customer service. That friendliness, plus a great cut, eyebrow trim, neck shave with a straight razor and hot towel neck massage, equals better tips. My hair is always the best-looking part of me when I get up from the chair. $16 + tip.

My first visit to this barbershop was better than I expected. Lashell took her time and gave my…read morehair a careful, detailed cut that matched exactly what I was hoping for. I was pleasantly surprised to get a hair wash and a hot towel massage as part of the service. The regular price is on the higher side at $29 plus tip, but with the quality of the cut -- and the compliments I've gotten -- it felt worth it. I usually go to another barbershop that charges $20 plus tip. It's a quick in‑and‑out cut, and sometimes a lazy or incompetent barber does a questionable job. No wash, no hot towel, no neck shave. For the price, it's probably fair. As a fixed‑income retiree, I'll likely continue using the less expensive barbershop for routine cuts, but I can definitely see myself coming back to Hair Mechanix every few months to treat myself. Sometimes it's worth paying a little more for genuinely good service.

Small talk before we got to the trim. Check! Starting it off right and cleaning up all the outta control hair. Check! Washing my hair with love and tenderness after my cut and trim. Check!
