Curtis returned my call within minutes he was professional upfront, and I had a quote within a half an hour. It saved me time to phone other movers as I felt comfortable in his professionalism. I had somewhat of a complicated move a full storage unit and a second location for pick up. I said I had a budget within the range he gave me and wanted to stay close to it as possible. Levi gave me a call prior to meeting me and said that they were there. David, Christopher and Levi were outstanding. They were quick, careful with my possessions, were quick, kind and courteous. I was only $22 over my budget. I was happy to tip them so they could buy themselves a sub and a beer for a job. Well done. More than happy to provide this review, and I would highly recommend low budget moving. Thanks again. Jodi.

Short Version: Broke tons of stuff. Quoted $800, showed up and said that it shouldn't take too…read morelong. Billed $1400. Not even remotely competent Longer Version: Talked to Curtis. He seemed great and he gave what I thought was a fair quote. We were moving a basement suite and had 40-50 boxes and few other large items (dresser, wardrobe etc.) They showed up early, seemed courteous and professional. Assessed the situation and said that everything looked good. We had everything in boxes, labelled and organized. They said 2 hours to get it out at the most. Then things went downhill...fast. The two workers started arguing that about whether they should bring another guy to help. The one said they shouldn't but eventually they asked me if they should. I let them know it was fine because I like to trust people to do a good job. They said it wouldn't be more expensive because although I have to pay for each person, they would be more efficient. Reasonable. Noon rolls around and they're still not packed. Remember they said 2 hours tops then brought in another guy to help. So, it should be way under 2 hours, but we are at 4+. I started to notice that the new guy they brought has been on his phone most of the time. Seems like he's putting out fires things for Low Budget Moving. Fair enough, but not really something I want to pay for. The other guys don't really seem to be moving boxes and working hard when I see them in my suite, but when I go up, then their just chatting and doing nothing. I think this was the chief the reason that 2 hours for 2 people became 5 hours for 3 people. That is on the cost side of things, but that's not all. When they showed up they said they would insure only solid wood furniture to be moved without damage. They didn't want to insure cheap IKEA furniture or already packed boxes. That seems fair to me. They broke 2 solid wood pieces of furniture. Replaced none and offered no compensation. One table they admitted to breaking. They just fell on it and broke it. Admitted it and did nothing. The China cabinet they refused to admit they broke but kind of in the same way that a child with chocolate on their face rufuses to admin they are responsible for the missing chocolate. They took some parts of the cabinet and said they'd look into replacing it, but then ghosted me. Lastly, they just sucked at moving. I have a hundred stories from the day but the one that illustrates it best is this. We asked them to move a wardrobe into a corner that they had placed in the middle of the room. It need to be moved about 2 meters. They were struggling to move it, crawling around on their knees, pushing it then putting it down, then and trying to figure out how to move it. Eventually after my wife and watching for a while, we just moved it. It took about 15 seconds for us (minus the few minutes of watching them struggle to do their job). We aren't strong, just healthy 30-year-olds who aren't getting paid by the hour. All in all they were just not competent at the basic task, did not actually work, and broke or damaged a lot of items. Try someone else. Literally any one.

mother rented a unit I was bringing stuff to for her . I'll just be 100% straight up. Yes it's…read moreclean . Yes it looks new . Yes the floors are smooth and seem to have some sort of protective finish / coating so your furniture doesn't sit on musky pourous cement . Yes it has area to back into large bay doors . but none of that matters then you will never recommend or come back again. My frustration level was at 100% with the way they have things set up though i could go off for a hour but I'll jus sum it up with bulletppints *garbage elevators *large awkward dollies *small turns in narrow hallways *elevators shut quick* *withim 2-3 minutes of trying to load things into elevator the door will force itself shut and a alarm goes off on the elevator warning you the door is shutting . Oh and there's no hitting the door open buttin or pushing it open with your arm. If it's beeping it's just shutting on whatever is in it way. *short staff * * dollies are awkward to move around almost need your class 1 licence. *elevator doors shut too fast!! dollies are too big for elevator !! Can barely get the dolly out of the elevator and around a corner ! *Elevator shuts On you * need to enter a code just use the elevator .. every single time .. and if you have a friend helping you need to go up together or he can't use the elevator because the code was already in use lol. here is some big changes you could easily make that I would have given 5 stars too. *selection of smaller type dollies to use * *elevator doors stay open for longer to allow moving furniture into Elevator doors shouldn't beep like crazy and force themselves shut * corners and angles . movers nightmare . Large awkward heavy dollies. more elevators . Was curious as to why the elevators dont have any pads on the walls like most storage places I've been to In case I want to lean furniture up on walls to utilize more space . It's absolute garbage they expect you to be fast going up and down the elevator, to be unloading by yourself and to use there 1 type of dolly that is awkward . . just literally had a shit time loading it should have taken a hour and a half abs it took like 3.5 hours just because of waiting on slow elevators not being able to fully load them up and having the doors constantly shutting on me and alarms going off if I didn't use the dollies .... Get me out of this place would never return . Mom can have fun moving out . honestly over priced too . there is so much square footage they pump tiny lockers into and give you no hallway space to move things around . Should have emphasized the size of the corners when building and planning to people can easily get there stuff from elevator to locker .... Slowing down bumping corners waiting for elevtor doors to stop shutting and opening . Ahhhhhhh I could keep going but fuck this place . I Don't wish to give my name or when I was there as my mom still needs to deal with this garbage place . Just don't store here . Ben warned .

Just thought I'd put it out there that the advertising is incorrect!

The U-Haul rep quoted $200 for the truck. Two weeks later, mid-June my son contacted the Abbotsford location again to change the equipment from truck to a 5'x8' TRAILER. U-Haul did not advise of the quoted price change for the rental at that time. My son booked the elevator in his condo building and today, June 3, 2023 he went to pick up the trailer. He was charged $545 plus tax ($610.40) for rental of a trailer (contract #88213247)! Since he already booked the elevator and his move put date was today, he had no choice but to pay this exorbitant amount. I contacted U-Haul corporate office and spoke with Manager Nicky Seals. She said that U-Haul price varies with equipment availability and demand but that U-Haul in Abbotsford should have honoured the quote if the equipment was reserved in advance. Instead U-Haul charged the price they had available TODAY, June 3. This is unacceptable. Our family has been loyal U-Haul customer since 2006 when we rented a similar trailer to move from ON to BC for $300. We used U-Haul every time we moved since then. Regrettably, we will not be returning to U-Haul now. What happened to our son was clearly fraud and extortion. U-Haul in Abbotsford never mentioned that the price went from $200 to $545! Had we known, we would have found another service and we had two weeks to do so! What a disappointment. We will discourage all the people we know from using U-Haul going forward.

You can just go in and they can help you". So I showed up on time and was refused help, and told I had to do everything myself online. What a pain in the ass. I HATED the process (and I don't ever use that word) to the point I wouldn't use uHaul again. No customer service. And on top of it all when I returned it the uHaul computer system wasn't working. Luckily the lady inside (who was very nice but just refused to help) at the end was willing to help given their computer system wasn't working. To force a customer use this system shows how little you care as a company about your customers. What if I didn't have a smart phone and showed up? I guess I wouldnt have been helped at all. Absolutely brutal rental process. I can't recommend.
