I've been here on two separate occasions - both visits left me with mixed feelings. Each time there was someone to assist in their vasy selection of wines, and both times the individual was kind and helpful. The prices are also quite reasonable. On the other hand, both cashiers (could have been the same lady) came off as rude and simply lacking any form of human connection or sympathy. During my last checkout (which was several days ago since the posting of this review), I mentioned to her an employee would be bringing up beers from the back, and she gave me a glazed over stare, and seconds later shrugged as if had no clue how to proceed. I had left my ID in my wallet fully open to her view when finally after a minute of waiting at checkout for her to ask for it again. Wasn't the most pleasant experience I have had, but it was at closing and she could have just been having a bad day. A bit messy and mish-mosh, but overall, the store has a fairly good selection of fine wines, craft beers, and spirits, all at competitive pricing, but the staff, specifically the girl who answers the phone and one of the guys in the beer department on 4/30 around 12 noon, are both extraordinarily rude, obnoxious, and disrespectful. I've been stuck home as a result of this coronavirus, and looking to stock up on wine, beer and some liquor... I only called to see if they had any Icarus beer in stock, which is very limited, but got an attitude, so now, will take my business elsewhere. Not the least bit recommended to anyone. I suppose the no-nonsense name should indicate this is not a high class establishment, though just because a liquor store promises low prices or a good value should not mean that it is disgusting. I was in today looking for Q or Fever Tree tonic. I mistakenly thought that a large liquor store near affluent neighborhoods that carries a huge supply of gin at all price points would have these increasingly popular tonics. Okay, so it is my fault for miscalculating like that. Just because it is easy to find at local supermarkets like Wegmans and Kings or at competitors like Gary's Wine does not mean it will be everywhere. However, as I walked around the store looking for it (since there was not a single employee to ask other than at the register, unless you count one who was standing around chatting with someone), I made some other observations. For example, the floor in the cheap mixers area was very sticky as if something had spilled and not been cleaned up. Furthermore, there were half-drunk water bottles at three different locations in the store, suggesting employees (or customers, perhaps?) who drank all over and left their bottles for later. A corked half-empty bottle of white wine was in the fridge with chilled soda. There were also random pieces of clothing (uniforms?) in the far beer aisle. I'm not sure if such things left lying around are appropriate, even in a seriously no-frills warehouse setting. Gross. Further note: asking about the tonic at the cash register yielded a surly and indifferent response. Okay, then. Got the message. Bottom line: don't come here looking for more than the basics. Don't come looking for any "trendy" or high end mixers. Don't come here looking for help. (Go to Gary's or even Wegman's for that.) DO come when you need something cheap and if you're not squeamish about a shopping experience that demonstrates an utter indifference to rudimentary cleanliness and order. read more

Though I don't see much of a price difference between here and wegmans on spirits, I do see it on wine so I find myself coming here to stock the wine fridge before going anywhere else. Yes it's true - it's filthy here, and that's why I docked a star. We have been shopping here for years, mostly for their excellent - vast - selection of wines. I tend to come here for the unusual wines which I cannot find in stores just a bit closer to home. Decent selection of Greek wines. Good selection of wines from Portugal - which always are excellent price-value. Lots of port. I was looking for Madeira the other day and found five - real Madeira, not the stuff from California. Plus they seem to have a curated beer selection including many single bottles. Excellent selection of Belgian treats, Rodenbach Grand Cru, Duchesse, Orval, tons of Fantome and even some aged stuff. Supposedly one of their workers found a ton of Belgians that were just sitting in their previous location so he brought them over. We beer snobs know that some quality beers grow finer with age so look over their selection carefully. Warehouse? Not exactly. Clean? No exactly, but not filthy; and I bring my beer home and pour it into the proper glassware so a dusty bottle doesn't frighten me. I stop by here from time to time, usually for holiday shopping. They have really cleaned the place up recently. It is now much cleaner and better organized than it was in the past and they appear to have lots of craft beer. For those who believe was dirty, you should revisit and post new reviews with your opinion. the reason for dropping two stars off the review is that the staff and service here can be really hit or miss. Some of them are friendly but others can be genuinely hostile. Im not going to stop going but will limit my communications with staff and lower my expectations accordingly. read more

Amazed by selection. I usually go to wegmans for everything, but the website said the alcohol section was closed. I had to buy a gift for a friend and I lucked out coming here! I wanted to pick up some apple cider and I ended up getting 4 very different unique single bottles. A kind gentleman offered to help as I was browsing. The service was nice. The ambience is gritty - very much like a warehouse (a real warehouse, and I'm not talking about Costco) - but functional. I will definitely be back again because they had many interesting whiskeys and craft spirits that I didn't have a chance to look through. Selection was awesome. read more

This is my go to liquor store. They have a very friendly staff with a very large variety of everything. The whiskey selection is huge and the beer choices are just as impressive. There are often samples which I appreciate. The only complaint would be that there's no walk in beer fridge. Overall great spot and great selection! read more

Such a great find! We are new to the area and found this nifty liquor store. They had a lot of brands and many brands we never even heard of, which is great! We specifically needed a nice bottle of champagne to give as a gift and they were very helpful with their suggestions which we appreciate very much since we knew nothing about champagne. The selection here is great. It's got that big warehouse feel and selection to match. But this means the place is also a dump. And the staff seemed pretty grumpy. They let us in right at closing and then totally freaked out that we weren't done in thirty seconds. The Beer and Wine selection here is phenomenal. They always have what I'm looking for and if it's something new they will get it for me within a week. The service is also very good. Everyone working there is very knowledgeable in Beer, Wine, Liqour, etc. The owners are very nice as well. I had a time where I got over-charged for a mini-keg by one of the girls there. I didn't even notice and the owner comes running out to tell me that I got over charged and they credited me back the difference. You don't get that type of honesty much these days. I'm a local so this is my go to place (and I think their stuff is priced well and have a good variety compared to the others in the area). The staff is always willing to help and I have never been rushed.. ever. Once more, they have a large selection so you can usually find what you're looking for. I don't really think its dirty, it just looks I guess how a warehouse does. Hey, if it means they can fit more stuff I'm all for it. I don't know how really close to New Hope it is.. that is at least another 40 minutes but I guess depending where you're coming from that can be close. This liquor store has a large selection and is probably one of the cheapest in the area which is the only reason I ever go there, but I am giving it one star because of the extreme lack of customer service and disrespect, specifically from the manager(?) and owner. I had to pay with a check due to a large company order and called ahead to make sure that was acceptable and to check what credentials I needed to bring in order to make the payment. Being an unusual company check I accidentally wrote something on the wrong line, my mistake, but I was able to fix it. They would not accept it, which I understand, but they would do absolutely nothing to help me out when I said I was desperate. I offered to provide any type of collateral and bring in a proper check the next day. I was actually called a liar by who I assume is the manager (older blond woman) even though she never asked to see my business card that proved I worked for my company which I brought as I was told to when I called prior. I then asked to speak with the owner who, joined by the manager (the manager lady almost didn't "let" me speak to him because "he already said no",) both refused to come down off their 10 foot high box to respectfully speak to me face to face. In turn, I had to yell up as they were looking down at me - treated like a complete peasant. The male owner was speaking over me, seemed to have zero respect for women. We could have had a civil conversation if they stepped down off their pedestal but instead they chose to argue with me in front of 10 other customers. Will never shop there again. They lost a huge company holiday party order. They may make money but they don't make loyal customers, and that's what makes a business. What comes around goes around. Try being a little nicer during the holidays you never know what people are going through. read more
